XY Mewtwo forme/Mewthree speculation.

Its not Mewthree. Why would it be? The theme for the last what, 5 years now has been old pokemon with new formes.

Arceus
Giratina
Reshiram
Zekrom
Kyurem

The list goes on and on, even into the 5th gen. Like Tri3sten said, it would be overdoing it with Mewthree

We are not getting two sequels to B/W. Why would we be? The theme for the last what, 14 years now has been two versions => one special version.

Yellow
Crystal
Emerald
Platinum

It would be overdoing it with two games.

I already posted this on another thread but thought it was also fully relevant here:

What if this new Mewtwo related Pokemon... Is actually the Z Pokemon to Xerneas and Yveltal? I could see the tail possibly making a Z shape, and it could make sense as this new Mew could be the last of the Mew incarnations (Z being the last letter of the alphabet). Also if you look at its head, the horns and the circle make an Omega shape (Omega is the last letter in the Greek alphabet).

I would think that seeing as they revealed this new (obvious legendary) to us so early that it has something to do with the main storyline of X and Y. I also think that this reveal somewhat proves the semi-obvious DNA theme of these games/ this generation. Maybe the evil team is trying to get Xerneas or Yveltal to create the final Mew clone (Omega-Mew-Z).[/align]

Maybe they couldn't even reveal it's name because if it does start with Z it would be too obvious that it was the Z legendary as Xerneas is the X legend and Yveltal is the Y legend.

I doubt it being the Z Pokémon. For one, the "tail" doesn't look at all like a Z to me, and it changes shape when it moves, to boot. And there's also the fact that Pokémon likes to be sneaky about the third legendary in the box trios. None of the thirds (Rayquaza, Giratina, and Kyurem) have ever been revealed before the initial games release. Rayquaza was fairly obvious, but I don't think anyone really even knew that Giratina was part of a trio until they announced Platinum, and they even managed to throw us a curveball with Kyurem and the sequels.

I think this answers some questions, but probably not in the way the way most people hoped for.

How do we know there will even be a Pokemon Z? For the longest time, everyone thought that Black and White would transform into Pokemon Grey, and that didnt happen. Nintendo is becoming less and less clever. (I still love you though, Nintendo)

Less clever? Sure they're not getting cleverer? They did outwit us with pretty much everything in Gen V. :p
At least, that's the idea I got. I wasn't actually watching much speculation at the time...

Granted they have many possibilities with the whole DNA thing, but that doesnt mean they will make them. What about yet ANOTHER new form for Deoxys? I mean, he is the embodiment of Pokemon DNA

I have a feeling this new Mewtwo form will be a lot stronger than the original. On the official Pokemon website where they talk about the story of mewtwo it says,"The aim was to create a Pokemon mightier in battle than any other!" I think they are trying to put Mewtwo back on top.

Plus the title of the movie kind of gives it away. Mewtwo's awakening. Usually when something awakens its powers they are always stronger. Like in DBZ, when Gohan awakens his powers against Cell. He went from super saiyan to super saiyan 2. Quite a big jump. Just my speculation.

Mewtwo is already terrifyingly strong; if they beef up its offenses any higher they'll need to downgrade its defenses down to near Deoxys-A territory just to prevent it from being broken. ._.
It wouldn't make a ton of sense appearance-wise, but I'm sort of hoping for this to be a defensive forme with its base stats redistributed to fit that idea.
Something like:
HP: 130
Attack: 90
Defense: 110
Sp Attack: 90
Sp Defense: 154
Speed: 106

Now that it's been confirmed to be a forme, I'd like to see them do the same thing to Mew!

It would explain why Mewtwo suddenly has a new forme when its a mutated Mew, since it would inherit this feature from it.

Also, it'd be even more interesting for Mew from a stat perspective, since it currently has 100 across the board.
You know, like how Shaymin got its stats adjusted to something unique for the sky forme.

No they're right. I've experienced that myself lol. Wasn't on these forums but people would call me things for thinking Giratina had anything to do with the other two.

I don't think Mewtwo needs a new forme. It has awesome stats across the board, unless this is a more physical variant(lol), or like changing Meloetta's forme, we could see quite the rise of an ubers tier Mewthree? This is all my opinion of course.

Sadly, it's true. As stupid as it sounds, a lot of people failed to see the logic and didn't get the connection between Giratina and Dialga/Palkia, even though it was pretty obvious right from the start... It happened with Rayquaza too...

Sorry, but no! First, they never touch the HP stat between formes. I guess it's because the HP stat functions differently from the other stats, but the point is, they never change the HP stat.
That said, your suggestion would change into something like this:

HP: 106
Attack: 90
Defense: 110
Sp Attack: 90
Sp Defense: 154
Speed: 130

And now this is why I'm against this: Those stats are basically Lugia's, just with the Speed and Defense stats switched (and Lugia has a secondary Flying-type). I don't think they should turn this Mewtwo forme into an almost copy-paste of Lugia, specially because it looks more like an offensive oriented pokémon than a defensive one... I'd rather have them buff up the Sp. Atk even more and decrease the Attack or maybe even increase its BST...

They never gave new formes to old Pokemon before, either o_O Assuming they won't break certain patterns is rapidly becoming a futile thing to do.

Increasing its BST just... seems like a bad thing to do. It was one thing for Rotom, a Pokemon with average stats, but this is a 680 BST Pokemon. Kyurem got bumped up to 700 BST with its formes, but each still has a relatively slow base Speed of 95, making them more than manageable. Mewtwo with an improved BST but the same or greater Speed would be terrifying, and not in a good way.

Eh, after gen-II, its always been weird that Mewtwo had 680TBS, as that became a big-important-legendary thing.
Because its an artificial badass mutant made to be a superior pokemon.

It could do with 730 if they wanted hahah.
By simply increasing all but HP by a minor 10 (which also gets back the 100 defenses of Mew). Its not the total that causes any issue. Its just a matter of how high sp.atk and speed can go before its beyond broken.

106---106
110---120
90---100
154---164
90---100
130---140

See? Its not much worse than it already was lol.

164 SpA and 140 Spe are too broken, especially on the same Pokemon.

How about 154spA and 150 spe? ;D

its in the deoxys area, but it actually survives stuff.... x_x

I insist on why do people want Mewtwo to surpass Arceus... The BST could increase a bit but I still think it shouldn't surpass Arceus...
Also, true, it kind of feels weird that Mewtwo is the only pokémon with 680BST that is not a big ancient legendary but I don't see how giving it a higher BST makes it any less weird, as the only pokémon above 680BST are the Kyurem formes and Arceus which are also big legendaries...
Personally, I think they should do the following:

-If they keep the same BST:
106/90/90/174/90/130

-If they increase its BST to 700:
106/110/90/174/90/130
or
106/90/90/174/90/150
or in case they want to raise its defenses (which I think is unlikely):
106/90/100/174/100/130

-If they increase its BST to 720 to match Arceus:
106/110/90/174/90/150
or
106/110/100/174/100/130
or even
106/90/100/174/100/150
and lastly, the combination Mitja presented except I would take out 10 points from the speed or most likely, from the attack cause I doubt they will increase its Attack as it is pretty much always neglected.
