Minecraft (1.6 Discussion)

RE: Minecraft (1.5 Discussion)

Super Hostile is a series of adventure maps where, instead of not being able to break and place blocks and following a certain path, you simply survive and have to complete a task, finding the 16 blocks of wool from bosses that you defeat (you can not use dyes to get the wool colors, kill sheep to get the wool or craft it from string, but you can use wool for a bed). You also have to get the three resource blocks (iron gold and diamond.) Here.

Has anyone else here tried the new super hostile map? Me and my friend are playing it together and so far we have about 33 combined deaths. We have two pieces of wool...

Beat it.
19 deaths.
On normal.

The worst was probably mellow caverns, damn witches.

Maybe on normal, but not hard.
You probably wimped out, went on peaceful, and then lied.
I know its hacks because he has like 50 skeleton traps that would insta-kill you on hard.

It's possible that he's just really good... I bet you're just jealous.

This isn't sarcasm BTW.

Lol, vechs took out the entire part of mellow caverns with witches and just smacked the fleecy box in the starting area...
I guess my new worst part would be Dumb Blast Zisteau Caverns. So many zistykins and their battle signs. Can't wait until zisteau tackles this.

RE: Minecraft (1.5 Discussion)

I was experimenting with the new redstone features and I found a compact way to have a dispenser/dropper rapidly eject it's contents at the same rate it is filled by a hopper (and stop when empty). I'd like to show someone, but I don't have any recording software on my computer. the best way I can think of to do this with what I have at the moment would be to share my screen on Skype. If used right, I believe this can be used with a small item elevator to loop indefinitely or at least greatly increase the number of arrows that can be fired from a dispenser.

Edit: theory confirmed, though it is mildly impractical. The only practical application is dropping items long distances quickly, which doesn't usually need an item elevator as a continuous loop

RE: Minecraft (1.5 Discussion)

His didn't fire the items at the same rate it can be filled from a hopper (mine will alternate betweeen 1 and 2 items in the dispenser/dropper as they are added then fired and will continue for all items added).

Edit: on a comparison with his method and mine, mine is about twice as fast.

I attached a screenshot, but it's effectiveness is best seen in action. Note that the Sticky Piston +Redstone block does not work vertically upward as the piston will be powered by the very block it is holding.

RE: Minecraft (1.5 Discussion)

Speaking of redstone, has anyone seen Mumbo Jumbo's builds?
He makes so much useful stuff on a daily basis.
