Hi everyone

The latest issue of Nintendo Dream has provided new insights into the special Illusion ability that Zoroark & Zorua both have. This ability, as we knew previously, allows for Zorua/Zoroark to be transformed into another Pokémon when sent into battle, as seen with the special event when you capture Zoroark. However, prior to now, the details of the ability were not known. We now know the details of this ability. The ability allows for Zorua & Zoroark to be in the form of the Pokémon in second place in your party at the time of it being sent out. This means that if you have say Jigglypuff in the front of your party, Zorua & Zoroark would appear in battle as a Jigglypuff. As we know from before, it keeps its Dark-type, but its appearance and name will match the Pokémon of which it has an Illusion.

This sounds pretty cool, though if one obtains Zorua early in the game via Event you can only get bad stuff like Mamepato or Chimaali.

Wait, that whole Jigglypuff thing didn't make sense. If Jigglypuff is first in your party, then Zorua/Zoroark will be Jigglypuff? Or is it your second Pokemon? This doesn't seem to match up. I think this source may be flawed.

If it is true, that's pretty neat. It kinda gives away your second Pokemon, though.

I think I can help clear any confusion. If Zorua/Zoroark is in battle. The second pokemon in your party will be what Zorua transforms into.

What use is that?

To trick your opponent. I competitive battles have a Zoroark and a magickarp. Your opponent will think your stupid and get cocky.

Great, now the whole metagame is going to be ruined. It's definitely only going to be used as a lead though. Also, good thing it can't be something like Salamence or Gyara w/o giving away its identity (Intimidate wouldn't activate).

Explain just how?

This ability is amazing. You could disguise Zoroark as a Fighting or Poison type, then opponents will try to attack with a Psychic move and it won't affect it!!! ©

I legally copyrighted this strategy!

No they won't. They'll think you are either trying for a Magikarp sweep, or that you have a Zoroark.

the only know illusion ability news is for zoroark and it goes like this
get entei from the japanese event zoroark transforms into suicune get the raikou zoroark transforms into entei get the suicune and it transforms into raikou
raikou->entei
entei->suicune
suicune->raikou
that`s the only KNOWN illusion data other than unlike transform it does not take the type 2

I still wish you could choose a Pokemon from a list of Pokemon you've seen in your Pokedex, but whatever.

You realize this information came from the exact same source that the stuff you posted did, right?

I wonder if it will change his cry too.

I'd imagine it would. I think this would be an awesome ability, it adds more prediction to the metagame!

I mean, depending on Zoroark's speed stat, etc, it could come in very handy. Imagine, Zoroark disguised as a Scizor, but it knows earthquake, they send out a Heatran or whatnot, and boom!

It makes us have to call bluffs, etc. :D

The only downside to this is that your opponent then knows you have the Pokemon it was disguised as, but regardless I think it's totally worth it.

Here's hoping Zoroark gets classified as OU or worse, 'cause I want to use this thing in the standard metagame!

Its a cool ability and all, but isn't it kind of useless outside of competitive battling?

Probably, but that's much better than the other way around. ;O

Zoroark will be OU, perhaps even uber.

I just hope that Zoroark isn't the only Pokemon with this ability, since I'd want to use something other than what everyone else is. I can see Zoroark being the next Lucario.

Seems cool but kinda pointless cause if the attacks don't match up it gives it away.

Magikarp used Night Burst
ZOMG IT'S A ZORORAK
see wut I mean
