Finally got to watch Madagascar 3 yesterday. I was very disappointed with it. Especially the ending regarding our heroes. After all we went through in the previous two movies...I kinda felt cheated.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Aww yeah, going to see The Dark Knight Rises this weekend, maybe even on opening night. I'd say there's no movie that's been released this year that has higher expectations from fans than this one. Even if it wasn't as good as the previous two, I'm looking forward to it either way.

I hope you enjoy it. DC movies just seem to miss the mark with me. MMM (Make Mine Marvel)

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Oh, trust me, I'm Marvel all day, every day. I just can't discriminate based off of the comic companies themselves. If it's a good comic, it's a good comic, and the same goes for movies. And the Batman films are the only ones I can stand from DC, anyways.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Going to see The Dark Knight Rises on Friday. I'm really excited to see it.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

I'm also looking forward to seeing The Dark Knight Rises. No more Batman until the Justice League movie though :/

That's because most DC movies tend to really miss the mark. With the Batman series and V for Vendetta being exceptions to this.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

What do you guys think about Man of Steel? I dunno... Its just that its an origin story with Zod, Faora and Non as the antagonists. That just doesn't set well in my stomach.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Stan Lee made an Amazing cameo in the Amazing Spiderman. Definitely his best cameo yet. I can say I like the reboot better than the original, as well. Mostly because in the original, webs just started shooting out of his hands.

And now it's time for batman, yay!

I know next to nothing about Superman, so I can't comment there.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Most of the Superman movies (including the new one) suck, and only the really old ones had any spark of creativity to them. And yes, I can confidently say that I enjoyed The Amazing Spider-Man much more than the previous trilogy. Although there were a few odd discrepancies between the movie version and the actual Marvel universe. For example:

Peter Parker skateboarding.

...Seriously?

I've never seen the movie, but I heard Watchmen was pretty good.

Side note: lolwut Supergirl and Steel had movies?

What would you rather have:
A skate-boarder or a really weird guy who has substances coming out of his hands.
Your choice.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Oh darn, I completely forgot about The Watchmen, it's one of my favorite hero movies ever. Rorschach ;_;

And yeah, you do have a point, HL. The Spidey-nerd inside of me was picking apart the small stuff, but honestly, anything is better than Kirsten Dunst.

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Didn't Spidey eventually grow his own organic webshooters in the comics?

RE: Movie Discussion Thread II

Yeah, but not for a long while. I believe it was the arc where he actually turned into a giant spider, and afterwards, he had organic web shooters. I'm not positive, though. Either way, the point is that he didn't have webs from the start, and saying that he did kinda ruined the whole transformation into Spider-Man, which was actually one of my favorite points from the new movie.
