Media My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

I don't see the point in collectibles, you can't really do anything with them. If I'm going to buy pony merchandise, it'll be something more practical, like a video game or shirts.
 
^ I collect stuff to pass down to my future family. Having nothing from my last family, if I end up having any kids it would make my life complete to pass down fun things from my young years to my future generations- something I didnt have. It would be special plus it keeps me a lil busy :/ on top of my 7 day workshift, all my animals, and hanging out/ partying with my friends, I just dont stay busy enough. Its nice to have something to sort out and try to collect on my "me time." Plus my friends also collect those things too. My apt is so big and bare I almost need crap to fill it with xD I love pokemon and MLP so much I dont want it to die, I want my great-grandchildren to psychically own the first season of pokemon, all my pokemon cards, and the G4 MLP merch. Although I wasnt given anything from my mom or grandma, they did share with me their MLP from the 70's, rainbow bright, and strawberry shortcake and I loved to see their childhood stuff. It made me feel more complete! Im just pretty bummed I really dont have childhood stuff to pass down! xO I also like the artworks on cards-taught me how to draw ^-^ Surprised to hear someone on a pokemon forum doesnt like to collect anything. Not even pokemon cards!? T-T

I did used to collect Pokemon cards, but I rarely do anymore (the only Pokemon cards that have sentimental value to me are Zekrom and Black Kyurem). But other than that, collectibles don't really have value to me, I doubt future generations would care about what I was/am into now, they'd just stick to whatever's cool by then. Even if my children do end up bronies, they'll probably stick to the most recent generation of MLP.
 
you'd be suprised! I have a lot of friends who are more into the oldschool MLP or any 70's cartoons rather than the 90's-now cartoons. I have lots of friends who are huge MLP fans but hate the new one! @-@ Kinda cool that a lot of my friends are into vintage shows and older music when everyone else at our age listens to newer music I dont even kno what it is called... lolol. the funny thing is that they are teenagers or in their early 20's. My husband is into old-school cartoons from the early 70's that his dad liked, MLP G4 is pretty much the only recent show we watch! Like I just watched the rainbow brite movie! ^-^ awesome to think that was the coolest thing my mom was watching when she was a kid!! I also have a best friend who is totally trapped in the 90's -_- like he still carries around cassette tapes on his belt instead of an mp3 player LOL. He also wears vests over his T shirt too!

I hope the new mlp sticks around for a long time, I couldnt even imagine a new mlp gen with different animation at the moment T-T I will be happy if they make 7 seasons at least of this one. *wishes MLP:FIM shirts could arrive at my work someday so I gets 1/2 off discount*
 
Yeah, but I never really cared about what my parents were into, I just stuck with whatever was popular at the time. I imagine my kids will be the same way.

Probably the most expensive card I have pulled in a year. I'm pretty stoked. Is anyone else buying these packs?
 
I wish, I'm dirt poor right now because I just got a new computer. once the semester starts I'll probably get an on-campus job and maybe I can use some of that money to buy ponies. :D

I am, I am!!!!!! I LOVE your avatar btw!!! Cadance <3 My fav pony!!!!! How did you pull a gold card outta a booster!? I thought that those were just "box topper " cards if you bought an entire box!! I have a pony wedding fluttershy holo if you have any duplicate holos :) I only have 3 pieces of the harmony puzzle right now, those are my coolest ones I have. its sad cuz the $ I was saving for dragons exhaulted I spent some of it on pony cards....

I've been seeing the packs, but have not bought one yet.
 
I've never been very interested in buying merchandise, but my friend (mokoko) actually gave me a pony card for my birthday, with a "portable Pinkie Pie." So I basically have a toy. Problem is my family doesn't know about it, so I've got to hide it if I want to keep it. Not sure I WANT to keep it if I can't take it out, though :\
 
I'm kind of on the fence about MLP trading cards. There might be some that I might like, but again, only ones that have sentimental value to me, and I'm less sure any of them would have that kind of value to me.
 
Lookie here, a few more mini ponies have been spotted! If these are legit, what ponies do you guys think will be in the next 3 sets of the 3 pack mini collections? Zekora, Lotus Blossom, and Pinkie Pie are already confirmed together in one set. There have already been Twilight, Rainbow, and AJ in the current ones, so Rarity and Fluttershy will probably be featured in these next ones. Also, Hoity-Toity, Apple Bloom, and Diamond Tiara have already been spotted as part of the mini fig sets. I hope they will re-do fluttershy with longer hair, but that probably wont happen :p

I think:

1.Lotus, Zekora, Pinkie-confirmed
2. Rarity, Photofinish, HoityToity
3. Fluttershy, Diamond Tiara, Apple Bloom
 
I've been buying a lot of packs of pony cards lately. It's really great because no matter what pack you buy, you usually can make your money back. I've been trading all of my holos for Pokemon cards though. I noticed that the heavier packs are the ones with stand up cards in them, and the ones with holos are lighter. It's really easy to pull a holo close to every time, for me at least.

Well that sounds like a major flaw. Maybe they should make more stand up cards then so they can put one in every pack.
 
I noticed that too with the packs with holos feeling lighter, which is weird because I weighed 12 packs and the ones with holos actually weighed more! Some of my packs actually weighed 9.01-9.05g and the packs with standees weighed 8.87g I guess the standee packs make the pack feel heavier because of the thick but still light paper. How much do these packs go for? I'm not really into the cards but if they're cheap I might get a few packs for lulz.

$2 sounds about right for the cards.
 
Hi! I'm a fan, too. I only have the Pink Celestial ( sigh ) Princess Luna and Rainbow Dash so far, but I'm trying to collect more.
