The spurs keep getting lucky >.< Memphis could be up 2-1 right now if they played a bit smarter.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I didn't really care who won West after I noticed the Heat is playing like 2009 Cavs. If Indiana doesn't beat the Heat, the Spurs will like they did to the 2007 Cavs.

Hopefully, Memphis will learn from this and be better prepared for the next time they get to the Western Conference Finals.

It just shows their playoff inexperience with it being their first Western Finals appearance and all. I definitely overvalued how good they were though. I should have realized the Spurs would probably roll them over considering how easy beating the Clippers and Thunder were on that side of the bracket...

dmaster out.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I think most people just underrated the Spurs. The Spurs have become an annual under-the-radar team because most people consider that team full of players past their prime, yet they're contenders every season. The Grizzlies are a great team, they're just being outwitted and outplayed when it matters most.

No suspension for Dwyane Wade

INDIANAPOLIS -- Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will not be suspended for elbowing Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson in the head during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The NBA assessed Wade with a flagrant foul but did not hand down any other penalties, meaning the All-Star guard will be available for Game 3 on Sunday night.

The league also took no action on the hard foul issued by Indiana's David West to Miami's Mario Chalmers during the Pacers' 97-93 victory Friday.

Wade blindsided Stephenson in the jaw as he was attempting to get back on defense following a turnover. Officials did not call a foul on the play, and Wade's intent behind the contact was not clear based on replays.

NBA vice president Stu Jackson, who suspended Wade for a hit earlier this season, ultimately decided to just retroactively issue a flagrant foul 1, a foul that would have rewarded the Pacers with two free throws and possession had it been called during the game.

"We think it was just a play that happens sometimes during the game," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He was scrambling, and it was a very competitive time of the game. It was one of those inadvertent collisions."

Stephenson, who was the victim of a flagrant foul in the playoff series with the Heat last year that resulted in a suspension for then-Miami center Dexter Pittman, said that Wade's hit stunned him, but he was moving on.

"When you get hit when you're not looking, of course you're going to react," Stephenson said. "I didn't know it was coming."

This is the second consecutive year Wade has dodged a suspension after a flagrant foul against the Pacers. Last season during the playoffs, Wade was called for a flagrant foul on then-Pacers guard Darren Collision when he took Collison out on a fast break. The league reviewed that play as well but did not assess further discipline.

rip in peace pacers d

Wow, the Heat are flopping like nobody's business out there.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

gg pacers. The only thing fun was watching Wade sail out of bounds while flopping.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Flop so hard the league is gonna fine them.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Riley and Arison must have told the players that they'll shoulder the flopping fines so the players can flop all they want

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

I just remembered how terrible Indiana's home crowd is. Your team is in the conference finals and a third of the crowd cheers for the road team?

lol ok indy, keep it up with the support.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Haha, that was nice show of sportsmanship by Gasol for not running up the court and instead helping Parker up.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Spurs going to NBA Finals, hopefully to whoop LeBron's ass again if the Pacers can't do it.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

So if the ECF goes to six or seven games, how will all that extra time off affect the Spurs' momentum?

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Well, Spurs brought out the brooms against the Griz. I thought that Memphis would at least force a Game 5, but they were just too wet around the ears and couldn't match up against the overwhelming experience San Antonio had in these kinds of situations.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

"BEAT THE FLOPPERS" is the best homecourt chant I have ever heard. Nice.

RE: The Official NBA Discussion Thread

Can't believe three refs and the timekeeper didn't realize that shotclock reset.
