New 'Healing Raiment,' 'Trevor,' and Pokemon in Gym Challenge Promo Packs [9/30]

Blissey could be a great asset in Bronzong decks that focus primarily on Aegislash-EX, Dialga-EX, and any other EX's that have lots of HP.

Healing Raiment is cool, but absolutely broken in Blastoise and Emboar decks.

Trevor is a Supporter Master Ball. Pretty cool, but probably won't replace Ultra Ball.

Nice. I've always liked healing, so this new Healing Raiment card is pretty interesting. I'll try it out in some of my decks.
Trevor seems to be pretty good too.

Trevor kinds seems like he's generally outclassed by Pokemon Fan Club. Most decks are comprised primarily of basics, and in the few that aren't, usually your primary concern is getting out your basics anyways, with Ultra Balls being more than good enough to carry in the rest. It may still see play, though. Who knows.

And I don't predict Healing Raiment (how do you pronounce that?) to be that broken in Rain Dance decks, in the same way that max potion is not that broken in Energy Trans decks. It takes space to use, prevents your Pokemon from holding other tools, and fails to do anything against OHKO's. It might serve as a tech, but I don't see it changing the format.

About Healing Raiment (try to say that 10 times very fast), I think that it's a nice gimmick, but not ground-breaking.

And Trevor, being a "reprint" of Celio's Network, confirms a bit more a theory of mine: TPCi is trying to slow down the game. Slowly, but surely. I'm looking forward to the XY-On Format, so the game can go back to a more slow paced game.

I like Trevor. It isn't anything special or game breaking, but it's a simple card with a simple effect. At the very least it provides an option for searching out evolutions while under item lock from Seismatoad.

Also with VS Seeker coming out next set, you could get away with a one of.

I saw the name Trevor, and couldn't think who it was. I kept thinking about the one from GTA5. I can't be the only one to forget who Trevor was? Annyywaaayys the only thing I'm excited about is the shiny Fairy energies. Yaaay finally!

I for one remembered who Trevor was. Not too bad, not too great.

I bet this Heliolisk makes it into our Phantom Forces set, or perhaps a promo for this set.

Healing Raiment looks interesting but I don't think that I would be using it in my Blastoise/Emboar decks. Have to wait and see I guess.

I'd have to disagree actually. I took a long break between Platinum- Boundaries Crossed, and when I returned and saw the game had turned into trying to deal 180+ damage a turn as fast as possible, I was extremely happy. I prefer this to trying to 2HKO or even 3HKO your opponent.

I don't mean it that way. :p What I mean is that the game is extremely centered towards EX and Big Basics. With this slower pace, Stage decks might actually see the light again. If you remember DPPt, Stage decks like Gardevoir/Gallade and VileGar were extremely dominant. I'd like to see more of this happening nowadays, but the most we've gotten was Empoleon/Dusknoir/Miltank winning the Senior US Nationals. :(

Considering Healing Raiment only activates for attachments from the hand, and Metal's primary acceleration will be from the discard via Bronzong, this isn't really much of a wombo combo. The deck definitely needs Muscle Band more to improve its otherwise lackluster damage output.

Uh...Max Potion is broken in Energy Trans decks. Have you ever played [against] one? Also this card would be interesting in Rain Dance as their primary goal is to score OHKOs (Rayquaza, Black Kyurem, ect.)

I actually PLAYED an energy trans deck for the whole of the 2013-14 season and I am confident that Max Potion is not broken. It is very strong, and probably one of the biggest advantages to these sorts of decks, but it is not broken. The reason why is because max potion does almost nothing to cover the basic weakness of Energy Trans decks: losing your energy in play to OHKOs. In the end, its simply a way of pressing the advantage inherent to the archetype. It does not make it overwhelmingly powerful (which can be seen by observing that Aromatisse variants are at best tier 2-3 decks, even with many of the major stipulations on previous Energy Trans decks, like needing a stage 2, gone).

Similarly, the best ways of taking out Rain Dance decks are to either prevent them from setting up or to outspeed them in taking knockouts (as denying them OHKO's is basically impossible). Healing Raiment does nothing to repair either of these weaknesses. It only gives the player an extra advantage in what is probably an already advantageous match-up.

I can't agree with you enough. The Pokemon company is making EX's too strong while just giving the short end of the stick to Stage 2's. I'm not saying that EX's SHOULDN'T be powerful, but whenever I play on PTCGO, I feel like I'm playing in 3-prize matches against cheaters. I also want to see a focus on making ALL Types balanced, rather than 2-3 types being broken(Right now, that would probably be Fighting, Dark, and Fairy) and other types being left in the dust. Seriously, there is NO EXCUSE for not including Special Lightning Energy in Phantom Gate!!

I like that TCPi seems to be fixing something that they might've unintentionally broke in terms of item lock. I know Seismitoad has huge counters liker VirGen but getting a turn one item lock on your opponent and holding it for 2-3+ turns is huge is stopping your opponent from setting up. Now we supporters to replace useful item cards if locking becomes a huge issue.

Xerosic = Enhanced Hammer or Tool Scrapper
Trevor = Master/Ultra Ball
Lysandre = Catcher
Lysandre's last stand = super rod/sacred ash

Yes PFC is better then Trevor, but Trevor can help you get out those stage 1s that might be blocked from coming out because of being item locked out of evosoda or ultra balls

Or at least trying to fix it. I'm still probably not even thinking about competitively using a Stage 2 until next season. Unless they come out with some weird Team Flare items that let you ignore the lock effect. Come to think of it... that'd be awesome.

muscle band does nothing except buff klingklang for when you are forced to attack with it. for both cobalion and egislash unless its one of those pesky 110-120hp jerks then everything else will still be either a 1 hit kill or a 2 hit kill regardless, If they in return have heals I think the 20 extra dmg wouldn't do anything to stop that. they should be scrambling to find a way to get damage on me at all in the first place. although the from hand thing is true, so thats out.
