Can someone tell me if the new 3ds xl has swappable covers? I know that the regular sized one does.

Chariblaze said:Pie-in-the-sky hope is that XY are updated to take advantage of this new hardware, getting rid of all the crazy lag and maybe enabling overworld 3D. The timframes line up so that ORAS could launch with support, but I guarantee Z will have support.

garbodorable said:I haven't seen this mentioned yet, but its screen brightness will dim automatically according to the brightness of your environment. I mostly play at night and have wanted a feature like this on Nintendo handhelds FOREVER.
It's also great that...you can access the SD card contents wirelessly, without having to take it out.

And the increased RAM was a necessity, XY was already pushing it to the edge, and I have a strong suspicion that was the reason why they took the environmental 3D out of the final version, so any pokemon games for this new console will most likely bring full environmental 3D.
Oh ok thx! Cuz they were having this M17 styled LL giveaway. And the code was pretty obvious.SotS said:Queen Sylveon said:Wait- what's this model called? Is it the LL I've heard of in subbed episodes?
LL is Japan's XL.
It's region locked so you can't play any games from any other region if it's the Japanese version.Momaster12 said:So if this is region-locked does that mean it can't play ANY games in English, like XY or FE:A? Not even from the west just any way to possibly play games in English because I really wanna get the New 3DS XL.
garbodorable said:I still haven't upgraded from the original 3ds... I'm torn on whether I'll get this one. I like the features but are any of them really necessary for the mostly pokemon games and puzzle games I play, or even Smash Bros?
garbodorable said:And how much longer does the 3DS have as a platform before Nintendo announces the next generation of handhelds? There was like a year between the DSi XL and the 3DS, but maybe this is more of an analogue to the first DSi.

Z is a definite thing? Or are you just throwing that out there?
These new 3DSes aren't what the 3DS is to the DS, correct? It's just an upgrade, like what the 3DS XL was to the 3DS? I can hold off on buying one, if so... I might not even bother. I'll just wait for the true successor to the 3DS, which will most likely have all of these features and more.
Of course you can play DS games on the New 3DS. They use the same kind of slot like 3DS games do. The GBA slot was left out because it makes the system so fat + it generally takes place while it was not necessary.cardgjammer said:I hope it is backwards-compatible w/ DSPh/DSLite/DSi/DSi XL. When I think about the DSi, I think of "DS w/o the GBA-slot". So, thinking of precedent when it comes to predictions, does that mean DS/DSi games are not compatible w/ this new 3DS revision, meaning Pokemon D/Pe/Pl/HG/SS and/or B/W/B2/W2 cannot be played on this new 3DS?
^ If so, that forces people to choose between old vs. new: Old pokemon vs. Kalos/New Hoenn pokemon, and I bet people will be upset... If history is indicator, I bet that the DS1 will go further into obscurity when this comes out in America, in the form of "this system is NOT compatible w/ DS/DSi games that predate the Nintendo 3DS, and you CANNOT download any software that connects to any associated software that involves such systems."
^Is the above likely? Does that mean no PokeTransporting to any Kalos/New Hoenn games on this version of the 3DS from B/W/B2/W2?
^ We will have to wait and see to determine the answer to that...
