RE: No pokemon for Croatia

This is scary. I started to realize that pokemon was just like any other fad and could die when the Walmart I work at stopped selling Pokemon toys in the toy section because no one was buying them.

RE: No pokemon for Croatia

Just like in most countries in Europe Pokemon craze faded in Croatia years ago but recently one of our television networks started showing new episodes so the Pokemon are getting more and more popular but we still can't compare to countries like USA or Japan who have a constant Pokemon fanbase.

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

Someone on this thread earlier, I forget who, suggested that Croatian Pokemon Trainers send a message to Pokemon.com about their lack of Pokemon support in their country! I think that's defiently one of the strongest suggestions on this thread so far, and its worth repeating. I've checked on the Pokemon website on public computers, and I see a wiiide load of different countries to choose from, Mexican regions, European regions, even Iceland/Ireland/Scottland!

The Pokemon Company are defiently a crew that's reaching out towards the whole world, and I bet they would listen to your message about lack of Pokemon products and social support (Leagues, Tournaments, etc)!

Good luck, you Croatians! Hnggh *Flex* !{F}

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

I used to live in Liverpool, nothing pokemon there, same in Ireland. Just passes me by :(

Really?! I've seen a UK/Ireland translation of the official Pokemon website though! I figure Pokemon has had at least decent success over there. Have you ever tried the official Pokemon website and searched for any Leagues?

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

The Fanbase In the UK is falling. There was only 8 Prereleases for DE in the whole country and for only one weekend. Most stores don't sell them if they do they are £4 a pack thats roughly $7

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

I am from Croatia also, and I know why there aren't any Pokemon players:
First: Almost everyone thinks that Pokemon are for babies (I bought a booster pack before school and I said I have a Pokemon pack. All of them (they are 12 years old as I am) laughed at me and they said: What a baby!
Second: You can't expect a lot of Pokemon players because we're not in the USA.
Third: You can't find cards anywhere. If you do, you will pnly find booster packs 'Black and White'.

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

You know what, 'geek' is the wrong word, I'd say genius. It isn't very ideal to not have Pokemon featured a lot in the country. I have empathy for you, for I live in Australia and Pokemon is featured a lot. If it happened to me, I would probably feel worse than you do, considering that Pokemon is part of my life and if somebody says something mean about even a little spec of it, read my signature. And that is very harsh that there are only 10 people participating. Do you have wi-fi or internet connection?

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

I live in Norway, and Pokemon is basically dead here. The weird thing is that I know a lot of people who love Pokemon, and me and many of my friends still play the older games and XY of course. Sadly, the other 5 million people that lives in Norway think that Pokemon is the most childish and stupid thing ever, and if you play Pokemon in public or if people know that you´re interested in Pokemon you could be seriously bullied. There are hardly any Pokemon merchandise to find anymore, and the TV show has been cancelled long ago.

I am so jealous of fans that live in the US, Canada, UK, Australia etc. It must be so cool to have the opportunity to play and talk about Pokemon without being bullied and buy booster packs, boxes and other stuff without the need to order them from the other side of the world.

hmm thats so sad :/ no pokemon....omg thats so terrible!!! Your not the only one, I remember seeing on the news a long long time ago that in certain middle eastern countries pokemon is banned because it apparently promotes "gambling" to the children -_- It also mentioned that you cant bring any pokemon merchandise into Saudi Arabia or you will be seized and it will be confiscated. THAT STINKS!!!!! I wish I could share pokemon with you.

What? Even THAT is stupid for us... Heck, I played Pokemon for a long time and I still dont want to go throw my money away, and probably never will. Oh well, we will never change. :/

As for me, Pokemon is...kind of a joke in here. Most kids/teens/anything just play, um, you know. I don't have anything against that, I just can't stand people that say: "LaWl ur a newbie pokAYMon ish for little kiddiez and IT SuckS durrp".
I even think the TCG isn't even known in here. And since it isn't known in here, there aren't even any leagues, and I ALWAYS have wanted to take part in one. T-T At least I have got some cards from my travels in the US. At least the anime is still shown in here, but only in Saturdays. The only thing that goes well in here are the games. And in stores they used to sell Pokemon toys, but they unluckily got replaced with...

So yeah, it really isn't that popuar in Mexico

I get tons of people who troll me because "Pokemon is for kiddies" but still do childish things like watch Spongebob or whatever. Not to mention Angry Birds feels much more childish than Pokemon. (I hate Angry Birds by the way.) And no one bullies anyone who like it. It makes absolutely no sense. Even my brother says its for kids and geeks but still watches Spongebob and Looney Tunes which feels more kiddie and watches and reads Harry Potter which feels way geekier than Pokemon. I even get bullied by Angry Birds fans under 10 all the time.

Anyway I live next to Sacramento,CA. I think I'm in a good area enough and there are plenty of clubs.

RE: No Pokemon for Croatia

Locking this topic, as it is very old, and has been derailed. If you want to discuss how the world sees Pokemon and how they've lost a lot of fans, feel free to create a new thread.
