I think mine are definitely one of the most creative ones.

Basic -- Scyther -- HP110 [G]

Ability: Sacrificial Harvest!
As long as this Pokémon is in play, you may attach an energy from your hand to one of your Pokémon for each prize card you have taken.

[G][G][C] Ritual Sacrifice 90+
This attack does 90 damage plus 10 more damage for the amount of [G] Energy attached to this Pokémon. If the defending Pokémon is not knocked out, this Pokémon is now Burned, Poisoned, and Confused.

Weakness: [R]x2
Resistance: [F]-20
Retreat Cost: [C]
This is not funny even as a joke, and it's not a joke?

The Inca, Aztec, and Maya, often had ritual sacrifices to honor the gods so they would bring rain to grow their crops.

I think outside of the box.

So many Grass-types in existence, and so many people pick Venusaur and Celebi.
...I'll never understand people.

There aren't many formidable Grass-types out there, to be honest. Sure, there are options, but most have a frail or weak element and rely on status or other gimmicky things. I was going to do Tangrowth, but then I had an idea that would only work on a stage 2.

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

This is CaC. If you want to make a good, say, Sunkern, you can. All you need is to be creative. If you wanted a Stage 2 [G] you could've picked Vileplume, Victreebell, any of the grass starters that no one made a card yet... You could also pick any of the Stage 2 bugs...

Exactly. I could have gone for a Grass Galvantula, because bug are a thing, or a rondom basic. Starters are just too popular, I guess

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

I tend to try to get creative with my submissions. If the only thing you're restricted by is the type of the card, why -not- get creative?

Dual types are your friend. Here are Pokemon that could legitimately be seen as a Grass-type, but probably won't be:

- Anorith line
- Lotad line
- Nuzleaf and Shiftry
- Wormadam (Sandy/Trash)
- Mow Rotom
- Venipede line
- Deerling line
- Escavalier
- Durant
- Larvesta line

Note this is not a challenge to find existing Grass-type cards of them; I'm just saying that these Pokemon are more traditionally displayed in their more "obvious" typing. I will, however, challenge everyone who hasn't submitted an entry yet to pick a Pokemon from this list for their entry.

Stage 2 - Beedrill - HP120 - Grass
015.gif

NO. 15 Poison Bee Pokémon HT: 3'03" WT: 65.0 Ibs.

Ability: Sniper Needle
Once during your turn (before your attack), if this Pokémon is on your Bench, you may switch this Pokémon with your Active Pokémon. Your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Poisoned.

[G] EX-stingtion 50
If the Defending Pokémon is a Pokémon-EX, this attack does 40 more damage.

[G][P] Wound Driller 60
If your opponent's active Pokémon is Poisoned, put now 1 more damage counter on the Poisoned Pokémon between turns.

Weakness: Fire (×2) Resistance: no
Retreat: 1
It can take down any opponent with its powerful poison stingers. It sometimes attacks in swarms.

Challange Accepted!

Also the link to the set symbol is not working, so can someone be kind enugh to post the symbol here?

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

When making Venusaur I realised that Grass types suck. Then I remembered Tropius and Bug counts as Grass after I submitted. Then I felt bad.

Link works fine for me, however :

You forgot Galvantula ;_;
Good luck to all the other participants, anyway. YOU SHALL NOT BEAT MY JUMPLUFF

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

Would it be possible to switch over to image based? Not sure if that's what I want to do, but I have quite a few of my really old fakes I could touch up and submit. I'm not that good at photoshop, but I am a perfectionist, so I might have a shot.

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

Teal, I got your entry. pikadru, you're signed up. TFW, I saw what you did there right away.
Let me know if I missed anyone in the 10+ posts since my absence.

Edit: @Mora: Sure. I'll put you on that list.

Volcarona, complete with a custom Pokedex entry. This is part of my Mysterious Adventures Base Set, which contains BW Style Cards with the Galaxy Holo sheet. The fonts might be a little off because half of them won't download :(

I really like this card and I hope you do too.

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

I thought the CAC contest needed a little bit more liveliness so added as much color and boldness and italics as I could think to fit. Also I chose the most out there Poke that I could find.
Ledian - [G] - 110 HP
Stage 1 Evolves from Ledyba

Ability: Greenhouse Amplifier
Each basic [G] Energy card attached to your [G] Pokémon now has this effect "If the Pokémon this card is attached to attacks, the attack does 10 more damage to the Defending Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance)." You can't apply more than one Greenhouse Amplifier Ability at a time.

[G][G] Friendly Fire 10
Flip a coin. If heads prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to each of your [G] Pokémon during your opponent's next turn.

Weakness - [R] x2
Resistance - __
Retreat - [C]

Not yet. I'm still debating whether or not I want to do that, and I want to hold my spot in text for now.

I see you used my font color idea.

RE: PokéBeach Create-A-Card May 2013!

Well, I see Armaldo hasn't had any cards for a while, and no Grass-type cards as well.
Armaldo LV.X [G] 160 HP
Level-Up: Put onto Armaldo
Poké-Body: Dual Armor
If there are any [F] energy attached to Armaldo, Armaldo is both [G][F] type.
Poké-Body: Primal Instinct
Armaldo can use any attack or Poké-Power of any Pokémon (both yours and your opponent's) that has a Trainer card with 'Fossil' or 'Old Amber' in its name anywhere under it as its own. (You still need the necessary Energy to use each attack.)

Put this card onto your Active Armaldo. Armaldo LV.X can use any attack, Poké-Power, or Poké-Body from its previous Level.
Weakness: [R] x2
Resistance: none
Retreat cost: [C][C][C]

PB CaC 27/30 Rare Holo LV.X
For the second Poke-Body, the wording might be slightly off because there aren't any examples I can find of that.
Edit: P B (no space) autocorrects to PokéBeach. Interesting...
