XY Pokémon-Amie Discussion

[split] Rumors & Speculation

Hm. Something just came to mind regarding the new Pokemon-Amie feature.

Do you think that, just maybe, a Pokemon's nature effects how they act in Pokemon-Amie?

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

Nature is related to the kind of food Pokémon like. I think it will be Nature related for Pokémon Amie as well. It has also been confirmed that Pokémon can Like/Dislike different types of food.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Friendship calculated in competitive battles, making Return a usable move? I would think the Aime mechanic would be similar.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

I don't know if it has been discussed yet, but do you think there will only be a certain amount of Pokemon that can be used in Amie like the Park in DPP in which only certain Pokemon could be used (before HG/SS came along)? Or in theory, could all the Pokemon be depicted in Amie?

Just curious and to add, will Amie be available straight out of the gate or do we have to do a side quest akin to helping Fennel and her search for Pokemon Dreams to get the C-Gear? As I recall, features like Wi-Fi and trading don't become unlocked until after the first badge is acquired, so do you think we'll get the option to use it then?

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

Getting the C-Gear wasn't SO bad, I mean for Amie I'd do it. I think maybe it's a plausible thing, because it sort of in a way acts like the C-Gear, like something to take up the bottom screen at all times.

And also, I kinda hope that all pokemon can be used in it... I mean, I know it would be a LOT of work for those 600+ (and now probably 700+) pokemon to be animated and have "personal preferences", but I reallllly want to see all the legendaries and scary-looking pokemon in there.

Not to mention Forms and shiny skins!
Heck, Pokédex 3D Pro has 730 and that's EXCLUDING some forms (Genesect and Pichu), Shinys and Gender differences.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

Talk about gender differences, apart from the obvious new ones (Pyroar and Meowstic) is it confirmed whether Pokemon with minor gender differences will have those visible on their models? I mean things like a female Pikachu's tail-shape for example.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

God, if it turns out that you CAN in fact use all pokemon in Amie, we should just take a moment to admire all the work that went into making that possible. Seriously. Wow. It'll be majestic.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

I can't wait to pet my Ferrothorn.

Jokes aside, Pokemon Amie is just all my yes.
I love how I can pet and feed all of my bros now.
Big or small, thin or wide, I will make it my mission to interact with my brethern and love them with every inch of my heart and soul

Pokemon Amie is amazing.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

I don't know if this was already discussed, but... eeeh... there is a decorate function on the touchscreen with pokemon-amie and so far we don't know what it does. It is clearly visible in this vid; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw6aq3i2w0s from around 0:18 to 0:34.

There is a house sign above it, so interior decoration, or the pokemon-amie background are possibilities. It might also be a case for accessories and allows for pokemon decoration, though I suspect that is way out of bounds currently.

Well, I don't know about other Pokémon but in Pikachu's case it's indeed visible.

It would make sense if it was for all Pokémon (like Luxray) but Pikachu is the franchise's mascot so... ^^'

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

Of course there are gender differences. And you can pet all Pokémon. And why would shinies not be available in Amie? The models exist anyway, it's just a palette change. Of course you can pet shinies. :)

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

Wow if we can pet shiny Pokemon and watch sparkles comes out of their head that will be so cute.

I hope the Pokemon shows their feelings there while you are in different times on the story like in Pokemon HG/SS when you talk to your Charizard in Silver mountain it start to feel angry.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

So I saw this on the Pokemon X and Y website a few minutes ago, "Pokémon you've played with may turn to you in battle and wait for your orders."
What... Exactly do you think that means?
Like I know that playing with your Pokemon in Amie will make them perform better in battle and all, but don't Pokemon from all games usually "wait for your orders"?

Unless you get them from trades and you don't have enough badges.

But so far all it means is it looks at you in battle and you get different text.

RE: Pokemon-Amie

So I really like the idea. Seems like it would be a laid back and calming mode in pokemon. Also, since like many i think happiness and interact with them. Also, what if they introduce a new evolving system involving berries, like with pokeblocks in gen3?

It seems like a nice little mechanic, it kind of relaxes the gameplay a bit.
Although I wonder what happens when you try to feed a pokemon that has no mouth...

That made me laugh, it's quite an amusing image. Give him a medal.

RE: Pokemon-Amie Discussion

I Luv Pokemon Amie. How is mewtwo going to react when I stroke him? I wonder if he will purr....I love it when cats purr.
