XY Pokémon Bank: Cloud Storage for Pokémon

Can't they send a DS Download play thingy? That's what they did in Gen V.
I don't think they should even have a free trial, as it seems some will only use it for the transfer, and people who actually want to use it for storage are willing to pay. Nintendo could earn a bit more. Also, again, $5 a year isn't much guys.

Don't think so.

There is something about 3D that it can read 2D files but none of the 2D consoles can read 3D.

There isn't any way for direct communication like with the mini transfer games in the past.

The free trial gives folks a chance to transfer without charge, like in the past.

I bought a 2DS when I learned that I can play the older DS games on it. They may be able to get it to make a transfer with it, but that would leave the people with 3DS out.

Owners of a 3DS wouldn't be left out... the 2DS, 3DS, and 3DS XL are all compatible with original DS games.

I don't think you can on the 3DS but you can on the new 2DS (the one that doesn't fold)

oops this is migrating off topic...

The 3DS has been able to play DS games since it was released in 2011.
The only difference between the 2DS and 3DS is that the 2DS doesn't fold and has no 3D visuals. look here :)

Getting back on topic, Pokémon Bank, unfortunately, still hasn't been released, nor have we heard any news of it being released. I'm hoping it's released before February. I'm pretty tired of being destroyed by Latios, Landorus, and Cresselia on online battles. Still looking forward to receiving the Shiny Charm, and I can't wait to use all my shinies that are sitting in my BW2 cartridges.

Apparently the Global Link is down and the eShop is about to go into a new update. If this adds up... we should expect it soon. But soon can mean either 2 days... or 1 -2 weeks...

Yes that does sound like they might be changing their servers doesn't it...then I suspect they will want to test some more to make sure that this on is going to be adequate...

If you search "Pokebank" while in the eShop application it now shows the icon and info page on it. "Coming to Nintendo eShop." In the description it doesn't say or show anything new, but it's there.

DAY IDK (I LOST COUNT)
I'm so sick of waiting, and I'm not going to bother getting excited for it. I saw that a fake Twitter account announced that it would be released February 27th, and sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if that's the day it ended up coming out.

I understand how hard it may be to fix the issue (although I'm not sure what there is to be fixed, and why the day it eventually will release will be any different than December 27th), but they haven't even bothered to update the website or anything. I'm not even asking for approximate dates anymore... just let us know what you're doing!

Pathetic...

I think it's that they're trying to create or strengthen their anti-hack software within the system, not the server's capacity. People are still getting ridiculously hacked shiny Rayquazas with all 0 IVs in, so they probably want to do something about it. To do so, they make us wait.

Transferring from gen 4 to gen 5 was very simple. Transferring from DS to 3DS is not that hard. All they had to do is create a transfer machine somewhere in Kalos and use the gen 4/5 method. They could have done that pretty easily. XD.:)

Yeah, they could have easily done an alternative method of transfer in-game that had nothing to do with Pokebank. But I guess the only reason that wasn't conceived was if it was, there would be a LOT less people willing to use Pokebank.

Ok, question. Let's say that I have some perfectly legit legendaries on my Gen V games that happen to be in hacked Master Balls. (Yeah, I used the 999 MB cheat in Pokemon Black and traded a few over to the other Gen V games to save the agony of catching the legendaries. :p ) Would they be able to be transferred?

Ugg. This was why I dident want transfering to come.1) UNFAIR GTS TRADES 2)Hacks (I dont mind it at all.Its just when people wifi battle with hacked pokemans.

They said back in E3 that they couldn't do that, the DS and 3DS software can't communicate directly with each other. Therefore the solution was an app that serves as a middleman. The only thing that's really bothering about this system is that it requires the use of a recurring paid storage system to work.

The only thing that bugs me about the ap, is it STILL isn't out, even after the Torchic Event ended. ;_;

Yeah! What's taking them so long???? Pokebank better not be in limbo...

Btw, does anyone actually sort of know how the hack check worked? I mean what does it look for? Invalid IVs or EVs?
