Chapter Three: Check Your Pokémon At The Border!

After a day of cruising, the rather large gang arrived at the port in the NPZ. John’s friends docked the boat, and then police surrounded them.
“Freeze!” called one of the officers, “Trainers are not permitted here!”
“Look,” said John, “Just because we have different views on life doesn’t mean we can’t get along.”
“Get out before we arrest you!”
Max pulled John away and said, “Let me handle this.”
“Good luck,” said John.
“No need,” Max turned to the officer, “Do you have the slightest idea who I am?”
“Some punk trainer who needs to learn his place!” yelled the officer.
“Wrong. I’m Max Shade. Son of the first lady of the NPZ and stepson of the president. So if you don’t let me and my friends in, I’ll call Chris on his personal cell and have you guys arrested for harassing me, how’s that sound?”
“Like we haven’t heard that one.”
Max flipped open the PokéGear on his wrist and pressed some buttons.
“…Hey Chris!” said Max, “Yeah, I wanted to come in, but your dumb police are giving us a hard time…uh-huh…uh-huh…thanks. He’ll be coming down personally.”
“I doubt that, kid.”
“Oh really?” said a voice from behind the officer.
“Yeah really!” said the officer, “And if anyone has a problem with it,” he turned around, “They can kiss my aaaAAAH Mr. Pesos!”
“Is there a problem with my stepson and his friends coming in?”
“You are the one who ordered all trainers must stay out!”
“And I also said that my stepson and his friends have diplomatic immunity. They can come in, but, as a precaution, I’m going to ask to hold onto your Pokémon.”
“No way!” said Bela, “Why should we trust….John!”
John was the first to hand over his PokéBalls. Max was second.
“Well,” said Bela.
One by one, each trainer handed over their Pokémon.

They took a bus to Chris’ mansion, and as they got off, Max said, “Chris, can I have your I.D. badge?”
“Yeah,” said Chris, “Don’t do anything stupid.”
“Don’t worry. Tell Mom I’ll be back in an hour or so. Guys! Make yourselves at home; I’ve got an errand to run.”
“Max,” said Rich, “I’ve known you a long time; what are you up to?”
“Don’t worry about it.”
Max got back onto the bus and the gang followed Chris inside.
“Welcome to the NPZ,” said Chris, “I know it’s not every trainer’s dream to come here, but nonetheless, it’s my home,” he turned to John, “You look familiar, have we met?”
“Yes,” said John, “I’m John; I was on the NPZ and Orre treaty panel with you.”
“Yes, of course! It’s a pleasure to have you here. I was actually about to contact you.”
“What for?”
“Well, it seems there is a radical trainer who has been coming into our zone and attacking. The last thing I want to start is a war, but my people are getting rather angry that I’ve taken no efforts in capturing Nightshade.”
“Nightshade?” asked John.
“You’ve heard of my stepson’s imposter?”
“I’d say so,” chimed in Michael, “He shot John a few weeks back.”
“So,” said Chris, “It seems we have a mutual enemy?”
“That’s how it would appear,” said John, “We’re actually going after him now.”
“Perhaps I can be of some assistance?”
“Sure. Kay Gee, come over here…Chris, this is Kevin Garret; he’s my good friend and a battling genius. Perhaps you should talk with him?”
“Sounds good.”
“Hold up!” said Abad, “Remember Max’s deal?”
“Of course,” said John.
“Good; Jay! You go with them.”
“No problem,” said Jay.
The trio went into the next room.
John walked outside, and James followed him.
“John,” said James, “Something is troubling you.”
“Why do you ask?” asked John.
“I didn’t ask; I was stating a fact.”
John laughed a little, and said, “When someone tries to kill you and can show up undetected on the most protected island in the world, everything troubles you.”
“You have a decent security system?”
“The best in the world.”
“Who designed it?”
“Doc and this guy named Josh. He seemed to be very inclined to technology.”
“That’s it then,” said Max as he walked up to them.
“Max!” said James.
“Hey James, John. The only person who can make his way through a security system is the one who designed it. I doubt one of your friends would do it, so it must be Josh. Did he have a last name?”
“I don’t recall what it was,” said John, “Maybe Doc knows?”
The trio ran inside, and John yelled, “Doc!”
Doc turned as did everyone else, “What is it?”
“Josh! That guy who designed our security system!”
“What about him?...You think he is Nightshade?”
“Exactly!” said Max, “What was his last name?”
“Ward, I believe.”
Max’s eyes grew wide. It didn’t take a psychic to tell the name got to him.
“Max?” asked Chris as he, Kay Gee, and Jay returned to the room.
“Max,” said John, “Do you know Josh Ward?”
“I’ve got another errand…I’ll be back later,” said Max.
Max left. John approached Chris, and said, “Old buddy of his?”
“The opposite,” said Chris.
“Josh was Max’s enemy at a school he went to for four years,” said Rich.

It was one year earlier, and Max was preparing the stadium. Max had been attending Kanto High School to further his skills as a trainer. Not only was his final exam (a Pokémon battle against a random teacher) today but he was on the tech crew there. The crew was setting up and Max was pumped.
Then, Josh Ward, who had graduated the year before, showed up to help.
“What in the name of Arceus’ green earth do you think you are doing here?” Max yelled at him.
“I’m here to help,” said Josh.
“No you aren’t.”
“Max,” said his friend Joe, “Calm down.”
“No, I won’t calm down! This guy doesn’t belong here! Ask anyone!”
“I was asked to come here!” said Josh, “I don’t know what your problem with me is but you need to chill.”
“One-on-one battle.”
“What?”
“You heard me freak! One-on-one match. You win, you stay. I win, you leave and go onto adult life and stop playing high school.”
“Fine, go Metagross!”
“Meta-meta!”
“Charizard, I choose you!”
“Charrrrooooaaaarrr!”
“Metagross!” called Josh, “Use Stone Edge!”
“META!”
Sharp stones flew and hit Charizard directly.
“CHARRRR!”
Josh’s face had a look of shock.
“What?” asked Max, “Expecting a one-hit? Charizard, use Flamethrower!”
“CHAAAARRRRRR-ROOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!”
Charizard blasted red-hot flames at Metagross and knocked him down.
“Now finish him any way you want!” yelled Max.
“Char!”
Charizard flew into the air. As he rose above the clouds and out of sight, the clouds began to glow orange and red.
“He going to try the Kamikaze?” asked Josh, “No Pokémon has pulled that move off in centuries!”
“Then today!” said Max, “Me and Charizard make history!”
Some teachers had walked into the stadium, and were watching the battle.
“CHARIZARD!” yelled Max to the sky as though trying to talk to Arceus himself, “BLAZING KAMIKAZE!”
A loud roar was heard and Charizard burst out of the clouds in a nosedive; his whole body was engulfed in blue flames.
Everyone who had gathered watched in awe. Charizard stuck Metagross with a force that could level a skyscraper. The explosion was so huge, the teacher Max would later be fighting sent out his Alakazam just in time to create a psychic bubble around everyone so they weren’t incinerated.
Metagross was knocked out and then some, as was Charizard.
Max ran out and helped Charizard up.
“I win,” he said. Charizard regained consciousness but was badly injured.
His teacher approached him, and said, “You pass.”
“No exam?” asked Max.
“After that display, you are exempt. And Josh, I believe you need to go now.”
“Max!” cried Josh, “One day! You WILL regret this!” and then he ran off.

“After that battle,” said Rich, “Charizard was unable to battle…Max retired him.”
Max walked in, and said, “Thanks Chris. Tell mom I’m sorry I couldn’t stay. Let’s rock guys.”
John shook Chris’ hand, and said, “I’ll be in touch.”
“Same on my end,” said Chris as they left.

On their way to the cruise liner, John said, “So, the rumors that the Kamikaze returned are true?”
“No,” said Max, “Charizard can’t battle anymore. He gave up the rest of his battling career to win that match. Since no other Pokémon has pulled of their elemental Kamikaze, and Charizard can’t anymore, it is not here anymore.”
“Sounds like he was a loyal Pokémon.”
“He still is, in his own way.”
As they untied the ship and headed off to sea, Max stood at the nose of the ship, and stared into the sunset, and whispered to himself, “I have to set things right.”
He fiddled with his pendant again, and then felt in his coat pocket. The metal barrel had a familiar feel, and yet, at the same time, Max had never held a handgun in this life before.

RE: Pokémon Max's Story: Betrayal! Now with 44% more temporal paradoxes! Chapter Two

Cool chapter. The battle got a little confusing...but overall was good.

EDIT: Comment about Ch. 2, not Ch. 3...I haven't read that yet. You posted while I was reading...

The Kamikaze is a Max's Story exclusive. It is basically the ultimate move, however, does a number on the user. Because of this, it was never practiced, so it is almost never seen.

So, that's why I haven't seen Charizard there, he retired. Well, nice chapter, as always, just keep it up.

Chapter Four: The Temporal Legion!

As Doc piloted the ship, the rest of the group assembled in a dining hall. Ricky had busted out his laptop, and began typing faster than ever.
“Alright,” said Ricky, “Construction of the island began?”
“Five years ago,” said John.
“Alright, and when was the security system installed?”
“Last year,” said Doc, “In August.”
“Right after my exam,” said Max.
“Right,” said Ricky. He clicked away, and said, “Max, did you make the copy?”
“Yep,” said Max as he tossed him an I.D. badge.
“Whose badge is that?” asked Ben.
“You know the mediator of the NPZ and Pokémon regions?”
“Yes…”
“His. Chris’ I.D. got me access to the computer mainframe of the NPZ government, and this little badge can get us access to all kinds of government files, Pokémon region or NPZ.”
“I’m in,” said Ricky, “According to the files, Josh moved to the Kanto region a month ago.”
“Where?” asked Max.
“Oh Arceus…”
“WHERE?”
Shadow looked over his shoulder, and Ricky said, “Um…”
“Pallet Town.”
Max whipped out a PokéBall and an Aerodactyl came soaring out.
“Meet me in Pallet!” he yelled as he jumped onto the ancient Pokémon. The two flew off into the setting sun.
“He’s crazy,” said Purple.
“Look who’s talking,” said Spiral with a snicker.
“Cool it guys,” said John, “Michael, tell Doc to alter course to Pallet.”
Michael ran to the control room. Within a few minutes, the boat had shifted direction.
Then, Ricky’s phone rang. It was Max.
“His residence is at 22 Crimson Drive,” said Ricky.
“Thanks,” said Max.
“If you had waited five lousy seconds, I would’ve told you.”
“Psh.”
Max hung up.

Once he arrived in the skies above Pallet, Max immediately had Aerodactyl take a nosedive to Josh’s house, where Max jumped off before Aerodactyl landed.
“Go Nidoking!” yelled Max as he charged the front door.
“KRRROOOOAAARRR!”
“Bash down that door!”
Nidoking slammed his whole body into the door and leveled it along with the door frame.
Inside was absolutely nothing but a television.
“What in the name of Arceus?” asked Max.
Max walked over to the television and turned it on. A tape began to play of Josh.
“Well Max,” said Josh on the screen, “You’ve figured it out…or at least, you thought you did. So you know it’s me, big deal. A tiny victory out of a huge war. You see, I’ve calibrated the device. Yes, the time travel device. And now, I can go back in time and rearrange it how I please. I’m thinking if I go back to your past life, your life shall become a living nightmare again. And, once this recording is complete, the device will activate.”
Suddenly, the rest of the gang came in, and John said, “Max! What’s going on?”
“He’s figured out how to control your device!” yelled Max, “He’s taking us back to my past life!”
“And now,” said Josh, “All I can say is I’ll see you soon.”
“Doc!” yelled John, “Activate the temporal shield around Max!”
“Say what?” asked J.C.
“John I’m gonna disagree with that. We haven’t informed him on everything!” yelled Doc.
“That is an order Commander!”
“Yes sir!”
As the space around them began to twist and warp, Doc came up to Max and wrapped a grey collar with green lights around his neck.
“What are you doing?” asked Max.
“I don’t know where you’re going,” said Doc, “But you are going to need to remember everything that has happened, and this is the only way. May the harmony of fire, ice and lightning guide you; may the guardians protect you; and Arceus’ speed. Max Shade, it was a pleasure meeting you, and we will all see you soon.”
Max blacked out.

When Max finally woke up, he was on his back, staring at a strange, futuristic ceiling.
He sat up, and a man grabbed him gently and said, “Save your strength.”
Max threw his hand off of him. He bared an identical resemblance to Doc, but Max wasn’t about to let anything fool him. He pulled the gun out of his leather coat pocket and aimed it at “Doc’s” head.
“You tell me what’s going on and tell me NOW!” yelled Max.
“Computer,” said Doc, “Erect a level four force field across the room between myself and Max.
A quick glow shot across the room and Max pulled the trigger. The bullet evaporated somewhere between the barrel and Doc.
“Welcome to the Temporal Legion, Max,” said Doc.
Max backed into the bed he was previously on said, “Where am I?”
“The starship named Nightshade, in your honor.”
“Where are my friends? My family?”
“They are all on board. Just put the gun down, and I’ll explain everything.”
Max did as Doc said. Doc then continued, “Computer, disengage force field,” then, he tapped a four-pointed, star-shaped badge on his left chest with his right hand.
“This is Doc to the captain,” said Doc.
“Captain speaking,” said a voice from nowhere. Max instantly recognized it as John’s.
“John,” said Doc, “Max is awake.”
“Is he in condition to leave the medical bay?” asked John.
“He pointed a gun at me, I think he’s fine.”
John chuckled, and said, “Alright, Doc. Bring him to my ready room.”
“Aye sir.”
Max followed Doc out of a pair of automatic sliding doors. They walked down a series of halls and into another pair of sliding doors. It was some sort of elevator.
“Deck Four,” said Doc, “Bridge.”
The elevator began to move up.
“If things don’t start adding up real soon I’ll blow this place up,” said Max.
“No need,” said Doc, “John will explain.”

Max walked into a room with some tanks filled with various Water-Type Pokémon, and at the far end sat a large desk with two computer monitors. And, in the chair behind the desk, sat John.
“Have a seat Max,” said John. Max reluctantly did as suggested.
“What’s going on John?” asked Max.
“First, let me explain what happened. Ten years ago, Josh Ward used the temporal device Doc and I created to send you forward in time. He thought you’d go after him solo, and so the device was calibrated to send one person forward. About a year after that, Doc and Ricky designed the starship. They named it in your honor.”
“Nightshade…”
“Right. The timeline you’ve entered has that part of time in it. Two years after the design, we finished construction and have been orbiting in space around the earth. Three years after that, we destroyed the device, but we were unable to get Josh.
“We’ve spent four years now doing two things: Hunting Josh and searching for your arrival.”
“So why are you up here in space?”
“Josh used some crazy weapons and technology to take over every region.”
“And what of the legendaries?”
“We…don’t know. Mewtwo, Mew, and Celebi all reside on the ship. Certain ones are said to be in space still; and others in their own dimensions. But, since we haven’t set foot on earth in years, we don’t entirely know what Josh has been up to.”
“I see…the “Temporal Legion”?”
“Right…I never explained that ten year ago, did I?”
“You may have left that part out.”
“Yeah. I was going to tell you, but I wasn’t expecting what happened. When I built the Isle de Vida, it was our base. Your father actually created the Legion. He came to me and asked me to form it. We were supposed to stop any more damage to the timeline. We failed, I guess.”
“It wasn’t your fault.”
“Depends on your views.”
“Look, not that this isn’t all greatly strange, but I’d like to see my family and friends. Doc said they are here. I’d really like to see my dad.”
John’s face went pale, like he had seen a Haunter.
“I need to show you something,” said John.
As they walked onto the bridge, Max saw some of his friends.
“Abad,” said John, “You had the bridge.”
“Yes sir,” said Abad, “Hey Max.”
“Hey,” said Max.

They arrived at a doorway, and the doors opened to a field. The ceiling was a glass dome, letting the stars shine down into the room.
There was a shine in the center.
“Is that the Ilex Shine?” asked Max.
“Yeah…” said John.
Max walked up to it. There was a headstone in front of it that read, “Grant Maxamillion Shade…1960-2010…Champion, hero, friend…and father.”
Tears began to swell in Max’s eyes as he continued to read.
“He fought to save his only child and died doing so. May Giratina lead him to the other side safely…His death shall not be in vain,” it read.
Drops of salty water fell from Max’s eyes and hit the ground as he fell to his knees.
John knelt beside him and put his arm around him.
“Max,” said John, “Your father did everything to find Josh. I was with him when he was killed. He told me when you returned to tell you to finish his work…and he loves you more than anything.”
“If he couldn’t,” said Max between sobs, “How can I? There is no point.”
John reached into the shine and pulled out the GS Ball.
“Inside this PokéBall,” said John, “Is a Pokémon. I don’t know what it is, but your dad never let anyone touch it. He said to save it for you.”
Max grabbed the GS Ball and hooked onto his belt.
“We all agreed,” said John, “That you should be our captain.”
“Why me?” asked Max.
“Of everyone on this ship, you are the only one with a real reason to fight.”

John returned to the bridge, and said, “Lieutenant Abad! I want you at tactical.”
“Aye sir!” said Abad.
The elevator door opened, and Max walked out.
“Captain on the bridge!” called John. Everyone stood up. Max walked over to John, who motioned to the seat in the center.
Max sat in the captain’s chair, and everyone else returned to their stations. One of Max’s PokéBalls popped open and Treecko appeared on his shoulder.
“All hands,” said Max, who had quickly caught onto the COM system, “Let’s rock!”

Chapter Five: The Hunt Begins!

A shuttle appeared on the viewing screen of the bridge.
A female voice called over the COM system, “This is Lieutenant Elric reporting.”
Max looked at John, who nodded.
“Lieutenant Elric,” said Max, “Head to Shuttle Bay Four.”
“John?” asked Elric.
“No, you have a new captain, Ed,” said John, “Captain Max Shade IV.”

They met Ed in the Shuttle Bay, and she had many supplies from the surface with her.
“Max!” said Ed, “It’s great to finally meet you. I’ve got plenty of supplies to last a long time.”
“Edwina,” said John, “Is an amazing trader. She manages to find all kinds of rare medicines and items.”
“But, I’ve got something more important than this! Before we go in, I need a security team.”
“Captain to Lieutenant-Commander Nercinator,” said Max.
“Nercinator here,” said Jay, “What can I do for you?”
“Bring a security team to Shuttle Bay Four.”
The doors to the bay opened with Jay and several others who had out there Pokémon. Jay personally had out his Starmie.
“That was quick,” said Max.
“Actually,” said John, “That was slightly slower than normal.”
“Sorry,” said Jay, “Alright, what’s the problem?”
“Follow me!” said Ed excitedly.
They all entered her shuttle and into the cargo room. Behind a force field was a man.
“This is one of Ward’s goons,” said Ed, “Tried to hijack my shuttle, wasn’t expecting my Venusaur to kick his butt, though.”
“I’ll take him down to Shadow for questioning,” said Jay, “Nothing gets by her.”
“No,” said Max, “Bring him to my ready room. See to it that he is comfortable.”
“Max?” asked John.
“That was not a request, Jay.”
“Aye sir…” said Jay.

The man was sitting in a seat in Max’s ready room with Jay standing guard. Max walked in.
“State your name,” said Max.
“Ryan,” said Ryan.
“Ryan. Not to shabby.”
“I beg your pardon?”
“You got onto the Nightshade. I’m sure that was the plan all along.”
“Well, yeah.”
“And Josh wouldn’t send just anyone on this mission, he’d send a close friend.”
“Um…well…”
“Exactly. So, where is Josh?”
“Like you’ll ever get that outta me.”
“Jay, leave.”
“Captain?” asked Jay.
“That’s an order!”
Jay quietly left.
“Computer,” said Max, “Turn off security cameras and lock the door; Authorization Shade Delta Four.”
“Security cameras off and door locked,” the computer replied.
Max grabbed Ryan and threw him across the room.
“What are you doing?” yelled Ryan.
Max grabbed him again and said, “I’m going to ask ONE last time! Where is Josh Ward?”
“Up yours.”
Max slammed his fist into Ryan’s face. Blood trickled from his lips.
“Where is he?” asked Max.
“Screw you!”
Max held out his hand and said, “Computer! Transport code Nightshade Blue!”
The .44 Magnum Max had brought with him appeared in his hand. He shoved the metal barrel into Ryan’s mouth and said, “I’m going to take this gun out of your mouth. You have two choices. Choice one: Tell me what I want to know and then get thrown into the brig until this war is over. Choice two: get your brains splattered all over my ready room. Choose wisely.”
Max pulled the barrel out of Ryan’s mouth and then placed the end of the barrel firmly below Ryan’s jaw bone.
“Josh comes to me when he needs me. I don’t know where he is,” said Ryan, “Last I heard, he was in Veilstone.”
“Computer,” said Max, “Reactivate all systems in this room…Jay, it’s Max.”
“Yeah Max?” asked Jay.
“Come to my ready room and take the prisoner to the brig.”
“Aye sir!”
Jay walked in, and took the bloody guy out. Max followed, and John asked, “What did you do?”
“Some people say I have a very persuasive personality,” said Max as he held up his gun.
“You threatened to kill him?!?”
Max pulled the trigger six times. The gun wasn’t loaded.
“You son of Arcanine,” said Abad.
“When it comes to avenging my father’s death,” said Max, “No one will stand in my way. This is the captain to the senior staff! Report to the conference room immediately!”

Once everyone had assembled in the conference room, Max stood up.
“For one thing,” said Max, “I want to thank you all. For ten years, you’ve stayed loyal to me…to my father.
“Ryan, our prisoner, has revealed that Josh was last seen in Veilstone City. I’m taking a team down there to find him. Abad, you’re going to be in charge up here. John, you are going to come with me. We’ll each assemble a team of four others to return with us. Dismissed.”

The gang assembled in Shuttle Bay Four, where Ricky was about to unveil his latest project.
“Ladies and germs! Mostly germs!” said Ricky proudly, “I give you…” he pulled a large tarp off a giant shuttle, “The Lizardon Mark Four!”
The shuttle was shaped like a Charizard and painted black.
“Now,” said Ricky, “Who’s ready to go back to the earth?”
“Ricky,” said Max with a smile, “You never cease to amaze.”
“Oh stop,” said Ricky, who then sighed and said, “I already know that.”
“Funny,” said Max, “John, have you assembled your team?”
“Yes sir,” said John, “Ed, Doc, Michael, and Haley; how about you?”
“Riku, Crash, Rich, and J.C.”
“Alright. Ed, you are in charge of stocking up the LM4 with supplies. We leave first thing in the morning.”
“Riku, you help her.”
“Aye sir!” said Ed and Riku in unison.

The next morning, the ten crew members took their positions on the Lizardon.
“Let’s start this baby up!” said Max, who was sitting in the captain’s chair with Treecko on his shoulder, “This is the captain to engineering.”
“Avalon here,” said Michael, whose new job was engineering.
“Michael, start the engines.”
“Aye sir!”
The shuttle began to hum.
“This is Lizardon to Nightshade,” said Max.
“Nightshade here,” said Abad.
“Are we clear for launch?”
“Aye sir. Lowering the airlock in Shuttle Bay Four.”
As the door opened, the gang could see Earth.
“She’s a beauty,” said Doc.
“That she is,” said John.
“Crash,” said Max, “Set forward engines on impulse…engage.”
Crash entered some commands into the computer, and the shuttle launched.
They went about twenty minutes before gravity really kicked in. The shuttle began to shake about wildly, and Crash said, “Turning on inertial dampeners now!”
The shuttle stopped shaking, and they continued towards the surface.
“Lay in a course for Saffron City,” said Max.
“Saffron?” asked Rich, “I thought we were going to Veilstone.”
“Not without some research; look, it’s nighttime, which means the Lizardon will attract attention. If we land between Celadon and Saffron, whose cities are so bright you can’t see the stars, we’ll be fine.”
“Aye captain,” said Crash.
“Computer, open COM channel to all aboard Lizardon…This is the captain. As of this moment titles are no longer needed when addressing me or anyone. We’re friends. We have no need to label each other. Everyone has a skill on board, yes, but I see you all as my equals. Understood?”
“You got it Max!” said Crash.
“Good!”
“Max,” said Haley at tactical, “We’re ready to land.”
“Awesome. J.C., deploy landing gear!”
A few seconds went by, and there was a light jolt throughout the Lizardon.
“Landing complete,” said J.C., “Quite smoothly, too.”
“Treecko!”
“Everyone off!” said Max.
Once the trainers got off, Max pulled out a remote.
“What are you doing?” asked John.
“I’m sending the Lizardon back into orbit,” said Max, “We can’t leave it here.”
“Good idea.”
The Lizardon’s autopilot kicked on and it flew off.

Cool chapter; very suspenseful. "You son of Arcanine." Lol. Lizardon ftw.

Hey--Awesome Stories! I haven't checked here for a while (after Pokemon Max's Story, I thought you were done), and I was certainly surprised! I just read chaps 1-5--awesome. Just in case anyone was curious (which I'm sure you're not) I am the basis for one of the past characters, []ShAnE, and a long time reader, just haven't checked on in a while. Keep writing!
