Ehhhhh... it's funny... when I asked for a hatching method... I decided to stick to the "Fill up boxes and hatch 5 eggs" plan. However I ran out and was watching the Walking Dead and then decided to just hatch em as I went. 2nd egg in party was shiny. o_o; FINALLY! 528th egg! Phew, I was thinking about filling boxes 24-31 too... It has 4 perfect IVs in the spots I needed! Defense, Sp Atk, Sp Def and Speed!

Wonder if I should hatch eggs from that route from now on... seems to be lucky for me.

I'm planning on trying on breeding an orange shiny Flabebe, that's probably gonna take a while with my luck.

What's the difference between a shiny and regular Blue Flower Flabébé?

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

I don't think the flower changes colour when Flabébé is shiny. I think it is just the Pokémon itself.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

The blue/purpleish body of Florges just goes so much better with a blue flower crown/collar or whatever thing... I mean I would have been happy with the red one but since I wanted to try IV breeding, I got a little sucked in to making it happy.

For awhile people would think a Flabebe on a blue flower was a shiny, cause the red ones were more common. But a shiny Flabebe has a purple-ish butt and blue eyes, the flower does not change as Drohn stated, but it makes a huge difference for Florges to me.

I have 2 questions:

1) I'm gonna start to try to breed a shiny Flabebe, I don't really care too much on the nature nor IVs I just want one. Does anyone know if either parents can pass down a flower colour? I'm hoping for orange, since it's my favorite colour and all.

2) Does it break the fishing chain if you run into a different pokemon like it does with radar chaining? I'm a novice at it.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

I don't know the answer to your first question, but catching other Pokémon while fishing does not break the chain. Just run from the battle and don't move to keep the chain going! :)

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

I cant completely answer the first question, but I do know the flabebe line is always female.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

I know that Pokerus doesn't effect EV's gained through Super Training, but say you do get 510 EV's through Super Training with a Lv. 1 Pokemon and give it Pokerus before leveling it up. When you do level up that Pokemon with Pokerus do you still get additional Exp. than you normally would with a Pokemon without Pokerus? Long story short, do you still need to use Pokerus, Macho Brace, and the Power Items on Pokemon that you maxed their EV's on through Super Training for when you raise them up to Lv. 50 or Lv. 100?

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

Pokérus, Macho Brace, and Power Items do not affect XP gain. Pokémon that have/use them won't get any extra benefits after reaching the maximum EV. You can give them a Lucky Egg to hold for XP boosts, however! :)

Yes, the flower always stays the same, it can only be changed when you first meet it in the wild. I've bred a red flower and blue flower shiny Flabebe and the flower stays with whatever the parent is. 500+ blue flowers can't lie. ;P

Catching a Pokemon will not break the Chain, and run in to another Pokemon will also not break the Chain.
The chanche to get an Shiny will Chain-Fishing is 1/200

*Gasps a little* Yes! Sorry, I'm more than a little excited for that. And oh, yeah. Thank you. :D

Well that's interesting, so what's the difference between a Pokemon that's been EV trained by the old method compared to the new method through Super Training? Do Pokemon that have been EV trained by the old method (using Pokérus, Macho Brace, and Power Items) have higher stats than those that have been EV trained by the new method through Super Training?

Lucky Egg If I recall only speeds up the process of XP your Pokemon gains in a battle which is why it was very good in Gen V against Audino to help your Pokemon get to Lv. 50 or higher much faster. Is there a way to level grind your Pokemon in X / Y similar to that without needing the Vs. Seeker from Gen IV which wasn't brought back in Gen VI? I assume Horde Battles are the best way to level grind after Super Training your Pokemon or it could be the other way around.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

Super training Directly affects EVs just like any other training method. No one way gives "superior" EVs.

The equivalent of gen 5 Audino is to find a Normal type safari with both Audino and Chansey. At level 30 one Audino/Chansey gives the roughly the same exp as the whole team of one of the Elite 4. Once you're high enough rank in the battle palace (or whatever it's called) just to the left of the Daycare, you can issue writs to raise the level of pokemon by 20 (and since certain trainers carry audino... :D). This can be combined wit another writ to ensure challengers never run out, thus making for equally as easy exp+cash grinding.

Hoards are good for EV training to max a stat ([pokemon giving 1 EV each + power item giving 4 more on the same stat] * 5 pokemon * 2 bc pokerus = 50 EVs form one battle. Do this 5 times and you're at 250 EVs in that stat, so you can just Super Train for them easily). If you're NOT maxing a stat, Super Training gives better control and allows you to fine-tune stats once you get close to your target EVs on a particular stat.

Vs. Seeker was gen 3 only. In gen 5, it was the Vs. Recorder, which only can be used for recording wifi/subway battles. the Vs. Recorder WAS brought back and is given to you first thing when you enter Kiloude city.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

The best ways to train after the game is over are...
- Serena: Every day
- Psychic Inver: Every day
- Emma: Although she only has two pokemon, it's better than nothing, and they're in the 70s. I think you can battle her every other day.
- Lumiose Restaurants: Specifically Le Wow and Sushi High Roller, but don't expect to make a profit from the Sushi High Roller. IMO, this is the best way to train because you can do it as much as you want and get a ton of money while doing so.
- Elite Four: True, they don't have any new additions afterwards, but they're still a great way to grind because of how high leveled they already are.

Think about that again.

You can also take advantage of the Exp booster O power as the 3 minute timer cant expire since the Chefs never stop running their trap about their food the O Power cant pop up to tell you your time's up. I get crazy exp from the 3 star restaurant this way.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

I use the Exp O-Power in Battle Maison whenever I see either a Gym Leader, Elite 4, and the Champion. I also use the Black Writ of Challenge so the Pokemon I face are 20 levels higher than normal. You can run into Dutchesses this way that have level 65 Audinos and Marchioness' that have level 55 ones.

RE: Pokémon X / Y General Discussion - Don't Post Topics That Have Their Own Thread!

I think Karate Chop might fall under the list of punching moves now. I had a Pancham with Iron Fist (it's evolved now), and I was battling in the Chateau. On the first turn against an Audino, my Pancham used Karate Chop and took the opponent down just past half HP, non-critting, before the Audino used Entrainment to give it the Healer ability. The second turn, Karate chop did less damage, leaving the Audino just inside the red. Since no stat changing moves were used, I can only assume the change in abilities altered the power of the attack.
