Wow, SO MANY PAGES TO READ THROUGH, SO MUCH TO COMMENT ON. I promise I'll try to be brief.
Z-Legend: never seen a single legendary like it. Looks awesome in my opinion, weird, different, but hey, I like different!
Player dating: Let's remember that this is done with kids in mind, so this is their version of "dating". So If you play as Calem and Serena watches fireworks with you. Big deal. I'd see fireworks with ANY of my friends dating or not. And judging by screen shots, you go on several "dates" with all of your friends at different points doing different things. Seriously, any time you have to two people together doing anything, it's considered a date. It Looks like Tierno shows you the pokemon center. That's just as much of a date as seeing fireworks. Think about it. Dating isn't about what you're doing, it's who you're with. You as the player determine that for yourself in your own mind
Plus as it's been said, they're just confessing feelings. Would you get mad at someone in real life for confessing feelings? Probably not mad, be awkward if you didn't reciprocate the feelings but it's cruel to be mad at someone for admiring you.
Plus, with the customisation, it looks like it's really easy to make your "girl" look like a boy, or the "boy" to look like a girl. Gamefreak probably did that on purpose for older players to be whatever or whoever they wanted to be.
70 pokemon: Yes it's low, but as it's been stated, they can't keep pumping out hundred of pokemon, it's eventually going to be overwhelming. I suggest finding a new goal for yourself to help you through it, something that would force you to train pokemon that aren't new, but you've never trained before. For me, it's completiing the whole dex, something I've never done. Try a nuzlocke, or training a strict one-type team. Shoot make a crazy rule with a friend... you have to make a team of only purple pokemon, or blue pokemon or something like that. Make an outfit to match. Get a little creative!
Dissapointment: Instead of telling eachother to "suck it up" maybe we should just say "sorry bro, I had some dissapointments too. Thanks for sharing yours, I'm glad there are still features you're looking forward too". For every twenty people that could do without 3D animation, there's thirty people that want it. For every thirty people that don't care about pokemon Amie, there's probably forty that want it. Their goal with this game was to give something for everyone, so odds are, there's something for everyone, but maybe not everything for someone.
Megas: Let's try an open mind with these Megas. They really are almost "new" evolutions to old favourties, especially pokemon we never thought could ever have one! They even have new types, etc. Plus, they won't be super easy to get. It will require lots of bonding with pokemon, and I bet you after hours of Amie you won't be able to help but smile at your little friend. People are mad they didn't do something new... Mega's are pretty darn new. And their are so many to choose from.
Plus, people keep saying you can only have one, but from what it sounds like, you can actually have a whole team of Megas. You just have to choose in that specific battle which one you're going to Mega evolve, and think about how exciting THAT will be! You face someone online, they seem to have a lot of water types, so you evolve your galvantula. Next battle is mostly grass, so you mega evolve that blaziken. I think this is more what it will be like.
