@Shadow Arceus
Would you please stop spouting that as though it's an absolute law when naming pokemon? First off, the correct spelling is "portmanteau", and portmanteau words are not just words that share a letter and blend at that point, they are simply two or more words blended together. For example, Charmander. Charred and Salamander do share letters but those letters aren't where the blend occurs (unless "r" and "a" are suddenly the same letter and someone forgot to tell me).
And while most pokemon names are examples of this (or a pun or 2 complete words next to one another), every single one isn't. There are names that are just corruptions of existing words, such as Pidgey, Gastly, Onix, Lanturn, Scizor (and you just know there's more), let's not forget Ekans and Arbok, which are just Snake and Cobra backwards. Girafarig is just Giraffe turned into a palindrome. Heck, I don't even know what you'd consider Mr. Mime's name to be.
But do you see my point? Pokemon names are typically formed how you mentioned but they certainly aren't limited to those ways. So chill with the jumping down people's throats when they throw out a name that you feel doesn't fit. And if that isn't your intention then could you at least manage to tone things down a bit when making a case?
