Project Pokemon Shuffle - The Pokedex 2.0 Region Thread!

RE: Pokedex 2.0 - Region Thread!

EDIT: Thanks to Steffenka for the original versions of Tundrore City, and Coal/Icy Caves, which became this post's Frostfuel Cave, and to Lugia123, for the original concepts for Mystery Zone and Route B17.

Route B17
Resembles: Sinnoh Route 228. Except, stretched to twice the length, and cold instead of hot, so the resemblance is kind of limited.

Nicknamed "Mystifying Pass," this long, rocky road covered in mist is the main reason why trade between Grenergy and Tundrore cities is kept to a minimum.

When you first enter Route B17 (even if you haven't defeated Trisha or gone to the Power Plant yet), the route has a relatively normal appearance. However, Kuraskamai jumps out in front of you and runs north along the route, lifting stones into the air and opening up ponds of lava as it travels. Suddenly, Purotenshi jumps in as well, chasing after it, but it briefly stops to let out a resounding cry, turning the lava a deep purple color.

After both legendary Pokémon have fled northwards, a detective by the name of Javerre nearly rams into you. Seeing the state of the once-familiar route, he becomes enraged and battles you, thinking you must have had something to do with the transformation.

After the battle, he calms down, realizing there's no way you could have affected the world in this way. He instead decides to recruit you in his ongoing investigation into two powerful criminal masterminds: Pazodenchi and Kadaggarai! After you supply that those are Pokémon, not people, and they destroyed Route B17, he applauds your thorough investigation and runs off northward after them.

Several open-air elevators are present on the route, in order to get from Grenergy City to the much higher Tundrore City. However, due to Kuraskamai's destructive behaviors, they have no power. You must supply the power using Charge, so you cannot progress further until after getting the Plasma Badge and exploring the Power Plant.

Since Purotenshi altered the properties of the lava, it is possible to Surf on it; however, you cannot fish in it, and no Pokémon are encountered in it. The cold lava occasionally defies gravity, producing a waterfall-like form; you can traverse these with Surf despite the fact that Waterfall is not an HM.

Roughly one-third of the way up the route is an old lady living in a house; as with the elevators, she has no power. If you restore her power using Charge, she gives you TM99, Rock Slide as thanks.

Mystery Shrines
After you enter the Hall of Fame, the five Mystery Shrines will float above Route B17:

Left Shrines:
The two shrines on the left allow you to revisit one-time areas. If you have a Glytch in your party, you can use the first shrine to revisit [link=http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-pokemon-shuffle-the-pokedex-2-0-region-thread?pid=2668829#pid2668829]Mystery Zone[/link] (this shrine will not appear if you traded for Robopoké). After you talk to the shadow trainer, you reappear in the house in Tundrore City where you first entered the Mystery Zone; you cannot rebattle him, but you can claim missed items and catch wild Glytch. If you have Mawcrocosm in your party, the second shrine allows you to revisit [link=http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-pokemon-shuffle-the-pokedex-2-0-region-thread?pid=2672735#pid2672735]Another World[/link]. Again, you cannot rebattle anyone, unless you missed them the first time, but you can purchase items and claim missed items from the ground. When you try to enter the Pokémon League, it fades away and you find yourself on the cliffside in Phurst Town.

Right Shrines:
The three shrines on the right affect the Abilities of Purotenshi, Kuraskamai, and Seikoshi. The first shrine toggles Purotenshi's Ability between Justified and Fairy Aura. The second toggles Kuraskamai's Ability between Maleficence and Dark Aura. The third toggles Seikoshi's Ability between Balance Order and Aura Break.

Tundrore City
Real-World Equivalent: Helsinki
Resembles: Snowbelle City

While a few of the city's younger residents are gathered around the city's southern border to witness Route B17's transformation with awe and confusion, it's nothing especially new for Tundrore City, the city of frozen illusion. Defined by its auroras and other icy tricks of light, there's always something magical and unexpected going on. Industrially, Tundrore City produces coal and electricity to the rest of Baloncé. The city was founded by the workers and their family, though lately it's become a hotspot for thrillseekers and occultists of the region.

Places of Notice:
Boutique (Winter-themed clothes)
Light Pillar
Floyd's House
Tundrore City Gym
Mystery Zone
Frostfuel Cave

Light Pillar
Located on the north side of town, the Light Pillar is an icicle jutting out of the ground, roughly four times the height of a grown man, that has never melted as long as Tundrore City has been inhabited. During the morning, the sunlight shines through it, casting blue and indigo beams to the west. A tutor, inspired by the lights, can teach Hydro Cannon to Groshark, or Triple Cross to Brutauox. During the day, it casts green and yellow lights to the south, and you can teach Frenzy Plant to Solaria or Chakra Burst to Puncharite. In the evening, it shines red and violet beams eastward, allowing you to teach Blast Burn to Fightape or Hundred Thoughts to Wizcheenie. No tutors appear during the night. You can use these tutors an unlimited number of times.

Floyd's House
When you first come to Tundrore City, this house has no people in it; the only indication that it is Floyd's residence is that one of the NPCs outside will mention that Floyd is from Tundrore.

After entering the Hall of Fame, Floyd will be back home. He asserts that, had it not been for Casey's absurd disloyalty, Shadow could have accomplished something real. He could have truly restored Baloncé's balance, making it two powerful, beautiful regions, just as it was in his youth, rather than one where the old things are allowed to rot in disuse.

He tells the player that, whatever their goals are, he's glad that he gave Purotenshi or Kuraskamai to him or her, so that the player could change the world, something Floyd failed to do by surrounding himself with the wrong people. He then gives the player one extra gift - his signature Mega Stone, the Aggresite.

Tundrore City Gym

This gym is fairly compact, consisting of a U-shaped path around an icy rock seemingly floating in darkness. The gym is dimly lit, with everything off the edge of the snow being completely black. Despite the cold temperature, you can move about freely; there are no slippery surfaces.

On the far left and far right are a pair of coal furnaces attached to hexagonal prisms. If you defeat the coal miner guarding each, they will turn on the furnace. The prism concentrates the light from the furnace into a beam. You can rotate the prism to change the angle and color of the beam. By rotating them to show a blue beam and an orange beam that both meet in front of Frits's platform, they merge into a bright white light, lighting up the path to the middle.

Mystery Zone
Resembles: Glitch City (RB)

In one of the houses in Tundrore City, upon entering the door, a man gets up from his table and warns you that there are forces upstairs that are not to be messed with. The layout of the house is identical to the protagonist's house from Red and Blue. If you go upstairs, there is a young boy in the bedroom. Much like the original bedroom, one of the items is a Nintendo 64. The boy tells you that there's an amazing secret, if you want to try tilting the cartridge.

If you do so, and tilt the N64's cartridge, the game's graphics and music momentarily freeze, then reset to a fake title screen. When you click through, instead of going to the load game screen as normal, you appear in the Mystery Zone, which resembles Glitch City in its original Game Boy glory. The music is the same as in Tundrore City, but in a high-pitched, squealy key.

Glytch is the only wild Pokémon, but the chances of encountering it are extremely low. It holds an item, the GS BALL, which does nothing, and has its hidden ability, Trace. Instead of having item sprites, the Robopokite appears to be Professor Oak, and the Glitched Stone looks like a Youngster; each will give you the option to answer a Yes or No question, even though they don't say anything, the answer is meaningless, and they disappear after you pick them up.

Finally, there is a single trainer at the far end of the zone, appearing as a completely black silhouette or your rival. Once you defeat him/her, you leave the Mystery Zone; you can only return through the portal on Route B17. If you go in that way, you can obtain the items, if you missed them, but talking to the trainer will only cause you to leave again, rather than letting you fight him/her again.

Frostfuel Cave
Resembles: Iron Island

There is a crowd gathered around the cave's entrance; Javerre, recognizing you, turns around and relates what happened; Kuraskamai and Purotenshi briefly met on top of the cave before storming off. Because of their climactic confrontation, several parts of the cave have sunken in.

Once inside, you learn why the two legendaries were drawn to this cave; as the cave merges two opposites, the freezing cold with natural fires produced by the fossil fuels within, the ancient Baloncians dedicated this cave to the study of opposites. In order to get through the cave, you have to use Charge to power the mining machinery within, to remove blockades caused by the legendary scuffle.

On floor B2, you find the payoff: a cave painting on the ground of a circle featuring Purotenshi at the top and Kuraskamai at the bottom, as well as two Pokémon you don't recognize on the left and right. Javerre, Frits, and Rival all enter the room. Frits describes the slab as the illustration of pure balance, and says the other two Pokémon as Fightark, on the left, and Purifighter on the right. He instructs you to stand next to Purotenshi; Rival stands next to Kuraskamai, Javerre next to Purifighter, and he stands next to Fightark. The slab reveals one additional Pokémon, in the middle, and an HM.

Frits admits that, while he doesn't know the name of the final Pokémon depicted (Seikoshi), he does know that, with the HM for Rock Climb, you now have the power to follow Purotenshi and Kuraskamai to their home deep in the mountains. Javerre notes they were last seen heading south, and Rival theorizes they must have been going to the Desert Temple.

More plot stuff, this time revealing what Purotenshi and Kuraskamai get up to after being released during Doubridge Town. This update does something kind of weird; since Icy Cave and Coal Cave were some of the first areas to be designed, I merged the two designs to form Frostfuel Cave, an area that, fusing a pair of opposites, has special significance for Purotenshi and Kuraskamai. Tundrore City also gets a gym puzzle, and Mystery Zone finally has a home.

One thing that's addressed in this update: in order for this game to work, it does have to commit to the idea that it occurs in an alternate universe. If characters and regions from previous Pokémon games exist within the same universe as this game, that means there's a region out there people can just go to which contains perfect twins of themselves with different names and lifestyles, and even Pokémon that look exactly the same, but are somehow completely different...the implications of it are somewhat disturbing.

Now, that being said, some characters and locations can be substantially closer to their prime counterparts than others - a character can exist who looks, acts, and has much of the same history as Looker, but since he's not Looker, we can't call him Looker. So, instead I've called him Javerre, combining the similar character [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Javert]Inspector Javert[/link] with verre, French for glass, implying a looking glass. For Fennel, I think she should be Anise, because the two flavours are often confused for one another.

Here's a handy list of possible region substitutions - so, if someone was supposed to be from Kanto, they would instead be from Nokta.

Kanto - Nokta
Johto - Ojoth
Hoenn - Ennoh
Sinnoh - Hinson
Unova - Uvoan
Kalos - Alkos

Route B16
Connecting Grenergy City to the Desert Temple, and essentially Treis Castle and Zalem City, Route B16 is on a small mountainside, where heavy rain often causes landslides. Due to massive rocks falling along with the landslides, it is a good idea to carry a Pokemon with Strenght on this route.

Great job on the post, Steffenka! You're officially the first person to finish your routes + Victory Road posts.

I've been pretty distracted doing some "stealth" updates, adding in Gym puzzles to cities I did that didn't previously have them...here's some links to ones I've updated. The Symmachine City one is especially notable, with new trades and a dramatic new Team Shadow encounter.

[link=http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-pokedex-2-0-region-thread?pid=2652509#pid2652509]Dreamix City[/link]

[link=http://www.pokebeach.com/forums/thread-pokedex-2-0-region-thread?pid=2652687#pid2652687]Symmachine City[/link]

Currently on my list of stuff to do is an updated Coastide City with a gym puzzle, Route B21, Victory Road part II (Charge/Strength), and an extra zone for Desert Temple with Team Shadow and Josey. Since Reggie's pointed out we really don't have enough Shadow in our lives, I've been really trying to fit them in wherever I can.

RE: Pokedex 2.0 - Region Thread

Desert Temple 3F
When you return to the Desert Temple after obtaining the Rock Climb HM from Frostfuel Cave, you meet Josey, who asks you to meet her atop the temple's central ziggurat, the highest point in the temple. This section of the temple, like the B1 section, can only be accessed using Rock Climb. Despite her instructions, as soon as you Rock Climb up to 3F, she immediately ambushes you.

Josey
285px-HeartGold_SoulSilver_Sabrina_zps8d8e348e.png

In order to showcase her connection with Mega Evolution, Josey chooses to field a different Mega Pokémon in this battle. Her team here is always the same regardless of her Arioso Glassworks team.

After you defeat her, she explains why she's here: her ancestors designed a series of 5 Mega Bands for the family who is enshrined in this temple, and she's worried that someone unscrupulous will come and take them. She offers to help you find your way to the central altar, but immediately rushes off too fast to catch up, leaving you to find your own way.

When you finally get there, Josey appears to be unconscious, and five Team Shadow Grunts are in the room. Their sprites sparkle as they show off the spoils of their plunder. Immediately, they challenge you to a uniquely ridiculous proposition: a Mega Horde Battle!

B: Dark Pulse
C: Heal Pulse
D: Water Pulse
E: Dragon Pulse

Once you've defeated all 5, or if you have only 1 unfainted Pokémon in your party, the battle ends with a sharp, sour note. The Mega Bands on the entire Horde shatter, as Josey, once again conscious, played a note on her flute that shattered them. She reveals why the Mega items of this region are made of glass, so that they can be taken away, if needed. However, since Floyd's Mega item is from a different region, it won't work to stop him. She reminds the player not to make her too mad, if he or she wants to continue to use Mega Evolution, before dashing off again at full speed. The Grunts also make a hasty exit, dropping a Kraboonite on the floor.

Hey guys, sorry I've been super busy. I will try to get to route B18 tomorrow.
It's totally cool, glad to see that you're all right. B18 and B19 both connect to areas with Team Shadow encounters, and B20 is after they're defeated, so you don't have to worry about finding ways to put them in the routes, which makes things a bit easier.

Once I've got my areas complete, there is a subplot I plan on working through...it expands on the ideas Steffenka presented in Sherbert's description, is the third major postgame plot (besides the Battle Nexus and Eventoil City) and is an episodic storyline similar to the Looker Bureau from XY. It's called "VS Café," and starts with Sherbert and Spicer's attempts to open a Symmachine City café, the Valios Star Café, that goes very weird when the Willows track down a previously unknown Legendary, #228, deep under his pantry. Hopefully it'll be light and funny, because I tend to be pretty dark and dramatic.

RE: Pokedex 2.0 - Region Thread!

Here's my last content post of the weekend. It's another regional update, like with Tundrore City, combining some old and new material. Credit goes to His Goominess for designing Coastide City and Marina, and to Steffenka for Lake Coastide and Shadow Admin Sha(y)de.

Coastide City
Real-World Location: Copenhagen
Resembles: Cyllage City

After clearing Doubridge Town, Marina contacts you on your SmartPoké. She's impressed by your continued efforts to combat Team Shadow, and invites you to Coastide City to battle her and gain access to the rights granted by another badge to wield against them.

Once you reach Coastide, you see that it is a gorgeous seaside city, a pearl of warmth within the cold of northern Baloncé. The city of coastal comforts is modest, but never forgets that the visitor comes first; with one exception, citizens of Coastide are very hospitable and love to meet new people.

Points of Interest
Coastide Beach
Capsule Guild
Seacutter Bridge
Coastide City Gym

Coastide Beach
This beach, popular with tourists, is often considered just as, if not more, dazzling than the beaches of southern Baloncé. A warm water current helps keep the beach and city warm, despite Coastide's chilly latitude. This area, as well as the bridge it's connected to, are blocked off by film crews until after the events with Shayde.

An old sailor lives here; however, she is far from kind when you first meet her, as she blames you for the destruction of the original Seacutter Bridge. She throws a stone at you and shoos you out the door, giving you a Water Stone.

After you enter the Hall of Fame, and the Seacutter Bridge is rebuilt, she opens up to you, and admits that she was merely taking out her frustrations on someone who didn't deserve them. When she does so, Marina walks in on the conversation, revealing that she's Marina's grandmother. Marina becomes upset at how she's treated you, and makes her give you a family heirloom - the Mantasite. She gives this stone to you much more gently than last time.

Once you've done the relevant events to unlock Infinitus Shrine and the Wasteland, the old woman offers to take you there in her boat.

Capsule Guild
Dedicated to the art and science of Poké Balls, the old methods die hard with the Capsule Guild, as they still make Balls the traditional way even in the modern era of mass production. In their heyday, the central button of the Poké Ball was carved from precious stones. If you bring them one, as well as a modest labor fee of 500P, they'll convert it into 10 rare Poké Balls:

Water Stone - Lure Ball x10
Thunder Stone - Fast Ball x10
Fire Stone - Love Ball x10
Leaf Stone - Level Ball x10
Sun Stone - Friend Ball x10
Moon Stone - Moon Ball x10
Shiny Stone - Luxury Ball x10
Dusk Stone - Heavy Ball x10
Glitched Stone - GS BALL x1, and a very awkward conversation

Coastide City Gym

The gym's inside is extremely long and narrow, with the entrance being on a small platform, and a swimming pool that extends off into the distance. Sitting at the edge of the pool is a Mantaspor. When you interact with the Mantaspor, the attendant explains the gimmick of the gym: it's an obstacle course, that you must work together with Mantaspor to clear. She warns you that, once you start, the Mantaspor only goes one way, so you either have to finish the course, or lose a battle to leave.

Once you get on, the perspective changes to a side-scrolling view of the dungeon. Mantaspor constantly moves forward without your input; logs float in the water, weights wait beneath the surface, and platforms are suspended up in the air. You must use the up and down keys to maneuver your Mantaspor through the air, on the surface, and under the water. For each obstacle you hit, the first Pokémon in your party takes 10 damage; it is impossible for any Pokémon to faint from this damage. At the 1/3 and 2/3 marks, a swimmer approaches you from the opposite direction, and challenges you to a battle:

Seacutter Bridge
Real-World Location: Øresund Bridge
Resembles: Skyarrow Bridge

Connecting Coastide City with Stearing Town and Baloncé's northern peninsulas, the Seacutter Bridge is a marvel of technology, and a symbol of Baloncé's unity. The turbulent crossing of warm and cold currents underneath makes crossing the strait difficult, making it one of the most economically important bridges to the region. Unfortunately, during the first visit (below), the bridge is destroyed, making it unavailable until after you defeat the Hall of Fame, by which point it is restored, grander than ever.

First Visit

Prior to your defeat of Marina, film crews working on a new tourism ad block off the beach and bridge. Once you have the Tide Badge in hand and leave the gym, Rival runs up to you and warns you that something's happening at the bridge. Marina rushes out of her gym, and the two take off for the bridge together.

When you get there, you find that the bridge is rigged up with explosives, and a single cameraman is holding up the bridge. He changes disguises, revealing himself to be a Team Shadow Admin, Shayde. He laughs that the entire region will be brought to its knees simply by destroying this one bridge. Marina quickly learns that trying to argue with him is pointless; Rival then comes up with a different plan.

He asks you to run onto the bridge and challenge Shayde to a battle as a distraction while he and Marina disarm the bomb. Marina briefly wonders why the player has to be the one risking his or her life, but goes along with the plan.

Unfortunately, the battle ends with the bridge exploding; Marina hops on her Mantaspor, catching Rival on her way down, but you and Shayde are not so lucky, dropping into the sea.

Later, you wake up on Coastide Beach with Marina, Professor Willow, and Rival. Rival jokes that you have a knack for falling into the water, and Willow is glad she gave you a waterproof SmartPoké. Marina reveals that, while the bridge will be unavailable for some time, Shayde has been successfully apprehended. But, most disturbingly, despite his claims of being an "Admin," he executed his plan alone, without help from anyone in Team Shadow. She fears that Floyd's address to Baloncé and the battle in Doubridge Town may have inspired countless copycat acts that are holding the region hostage. Rival takes the news in stride, remarking that, if those are the stakes, we need to work twice as hard to punish and humiliate Team Shadow, and take back Baloncé!

Second Visit (Post Game)

Once the bridge is rebuilt, it replaces the Construction Site portion of Route B21. The bridge is brighter and more spectacular than ever before, and trainers have gathered from around the region to traverse it.

Wings Over Baloncé
This mural, commissioned to celebrate the bridge's reconstruction, depicts Spea-Row, Fea-Row, and Ho-Row in the bright sunlight, flying over Baloncé. During the daytime, if you have a Fea-Row in your party, it cries out and reacts to the mural, and you obtain a Gold Wing. If you view it at night, the normal paint can't be distinguished in the darkness, but a second mural is visible painted in glow-in-the-dark paint, depicting a Mooslime flying over a sea full of Hydrugetal and Suraimutuf. If you have a Suraimutuf in your party, it reacts, crying out and giving you a Lunar Wing.

I think it makes it seem a little more solar powered as well, but that leaves it a little similar to Aerolord, which I would suggest changing to this:

Air Snake Pokemon
giratina-origin.gif

Basic Pokémon

Flying
Ability: Aerilate
Stats: 75/60/80/120/100/90 - 525 BST
Extra Info: Knows Extremespeed
This legendary Pokemon of the air can be seen commonly on clear days, however it's much too far in the sky to take notice of anything.

I was thinking about using shiny Rayquaza too, but I think it would make it look too much like a Dark-type.

What do you think about that?

Tbh Amper, I don't really like Mega Sceptile as Pallegon as it imo don't really fit in with the rest of the line...

Yeah, I chose a pretty bad looking evolution primarily for the purpose of bringing attention to the issue.

That being said, I really like what Mega Rayquaza can bring to the equation. The only change I'd make would be to have regular or shiny non-Mega Rayquaza be Pallegon, and normal green Mega Rayquaza be Aerogon - besides the obvious Mega = Legendary correlation there, Aerogon gets a more complex ornamented appearance, like its trio mates Florilord/Serperior and Terralord/Zygarde, and Dracomental still gets to evolve into something limbless and fairly simple. Rayquaza and Mega Rayquaza are similar, but they're not identical like Zygarde and Zygarde, so it still alleviates issues.

It's highly unlikely that it isn't real, the evidence is quite compelling, the main question is what its relationship to Hoopa actually is. It kind of reminds me more of Pokéstar Studios opponents than a normal Pokémon, but obviously there's another thread entirely for theorizing over what it is.

As to Mega Jiniesh, I definitely like having it around, using an unrevealed ΩRAS component is fresh and interesting. Though, when we expanded the Megas in the game to 32 entries, putting in a 33rd feels a little much...do you think we could remove one of the existing Megas to put it in? My choice would be Mega Saland, mostly because Carracosta might make a great mix-in with the Squirtle line if we need to make more Pokémon someday.

EDIT: Wait, what if maybe...

I removed Mega Saland, and added Mega Jiniesh. I also updated the other ORAS Megas with their sprites instead of their Sugimori artwork :)

M-Steelix as Pallegon is still more realistic than Sceptile (no harsh feelings ;)), but I feel like it might be a little too "rocky", however it could use the crystals to absorb the sunlight, and have the orbiting "scales" be orbited by its telekinetic powers :)

RE: Pokedex 2.0 - Region Thread!

So, since fixing Pallegon as an evolution of Dracomental isn't really working out, let's just fill the slot with a completely different Pokémon, instead. Dracomental can be Rayquaza, just to make sure that Mentoil to Dracomental isn't just Ekans to Arbok. I like the way that Aggresect is a single Pokémon with a Mega, so let's have another one of those. This one can replace Mega Mooslime, because I have no idea what type it is.

Resembles: Hoenn Route 122, and sections of Routes 121 and 123 directly to the north and south.

The final route before the Pokémon League is fairly complex - drier, warmer lands wind between inlets of sea. At the heart of the route is Granyx Peak, jutting ominously from the water amid a collection of rocks. In order to get to the south bank of the route, you must Dive under the Peak; you can surface inside and challenge it, or surface on the south bank to continue on to the Pokémon League. Strength Rocks and downed trees that must be Incinerated also feature on this long route.

Omg I love the Glalie -> Crygonal! Super clever Amper! :D
But Glalie is already used in the Ghodapt line...
What if Specice is Mega Glalie instead of Glalie? And would you all be okay with that? Mega Glalie does look a little more creepy than normal Glalie, and it could control the air using the mysterious orb inside its mouth :)

So my Specice suggestion is:

#040 Specice
Mysterious Pokémon

Evolves from Ghodapt at level 25 during hail conditions

Ice/Ghost
Ability: Cursed Body (HA: Snow Warning)

It can control the air around it and make it colder, by using the orb inside its body.

Edit: Omg this is my 500th post! :D

Yeah, I'm glad you said something. Fluoreye was originally supposed to be Mega Glalie, but due to a mental mixup I ended up posting it with regular Glalie, instead. Except that regular Glalie transitions much better into Cryogonal than Mega Glalie. So Specice becoming Mega Glalie instead would help resolve things all around.

The Pallegon mixup was, I think, the last unresolved visual hiccup we had with the Dex...so hopefully we won't have to go through this again when the ΩRAS release gives us even more new Megas to play with (if there are any still unrevealed). But, that's the future, we'll deal with it then.

RE: Pokedex 2.0 - Region Thread!

So, this is something I've had in mind for a while. It represents the true climax to the game, a fairly expansive and explosive finish to the events at Ancient Shrine, and explores the themes of the game and the nature of its alternate universe in depth

Ancient Shrine
After Travis and Rival lead Floyd off, you are left at the altar at the core of the Ancient Shrine, alone. Two of its four flames suddenly go out. When you try to leave the room, Casey, wearing a blue furisode instead of her normal black one, runs into you, and pushes you back towards the altar.

150px-VSFurisode_Girl_1copy_zpse48518b7.png

She jokes that, all it took to elude the authorities was to change her outfit; sensing you don't believe her, she asks you if you thought that was it. That everything that's been happening around Baloncé was the plan of a team who merely wanted to provoke chaos for personal gain.

Prism enters the room, escorted by a man and a woman, and Casey reveals herself as an admin of a secret team operating within Team Shadow's shadow: Team Echo. The man and the woman, Team Echo grunts, each ask a question that rests at the heart of Team Echo's philosophy: he asks, "Do you ever wonder who you really are?", and she asks "Do you ever think that maybe we've met before?"

326px-Black_White_Cress_zps57ef6711.png
EchoPresentation_zpsc4810ce4.png
Diamond_Pearl_Candice_zps04157d92.png

Prism applauds Casey's work, using Team Shadow to fulfill half of the plan. She muses on the nature of Baloncé's absolute balance, that Purotenshi has Kuraskamai, Fightark has Purifighter, and Team Shadow has you. Everything perfectly attuned to its opposite. But there is something hidden in this shrine that cannot be balanced, cannot be accounted for; a Legendary Pokémon that has no opposite, not in this world, so it had to be hidden away.

The remaining two cauldrons on the altar go out, signifying that Purifighter and Fightark have been disturbed from their places. Now, Team Echo can finally discover the nature of existence - whether they have lived other lives before, or hereafter, whether the lives of their dreams are any more or less real than the one they experience everyday. And the Pokémon who will show them is about to take the stage:

???
mawile-mega.gif

She beckons to the Pokémon, asking it to show her the infinities that await within its limitless hunger. The creature obeys, swallowing her whole. It devours Casey, the grunts, and finally, you.

Phurst Town?

You awaken in your room back at home. Everything is just as you left it; you can interact with it normally. However, when you go down the stairs...

(Context note: Phurst Town's layout is based on Evergrande City's. The player's house replaces the Pokémon Center, Willow's Lab occupies the space that normally houses Victory Road, and there is a bare cliffside where the Pokémon League would be.)

Another World

You instead find yourself descending the escalator in a Hoenn Pokémon Center. The Center is functional, and can heal your Pokémon. The computer also functions as normal.

Outside the Pokémon Center, you find yourself in Evergrande City (as depicted in R/S/E, if the ORAS depiction turns out to be noticeably different). Since Waterfall isn't available as an HM move, and the Map App on your SmartPoké doesn't work here, the only way to go is toward Willow's Lab/Victory Road.

When you enter the cave where her lab should be, you find yourself inside Willow's Lab. She runs up to you, and asks you Have we met before? Mid-sentence, the location around her changes to Hoenn's Victory Road, and she becomes a previously unseen Team Echo Admin, Jayma, who battles you.

There are no wild Pokémon (no wild Pokémon are encountered at any time while in Hoenn), and all of the trainers are replaced by Team Echo Grunts. When you fight them, each relates a dream they've had about another life, alluding to a variety of Pokémon spinoffs such as Ranger, Mystery Dungeon, and Hey You, Pikachu!

After the battle, she admits that this life is no better than the one she left behind. Even being the Elite Four, one of the strongest trainers in the world, doesn't by itself make her happy. She realizes that there's no point in thinking that your life is over because you haven't lived up to your dreams, or to other's expectations, and to simply take each day, each life as it is and make the best of it.

The room opens up, and a massive set of jaws are visible crossing the room; Prism tells you this is the only way out, so you'd better take it. She plans to stay here; as much trouble as she caused getting here, it would be a waste to leave now.

Once you walk through, you appear in front of the mysterious Pokémon on the cliff in Phurst Town where the game began. The Willows run over to you, and the Professor throws some sort of shining device onto the mysterious Pokémon; it then leaps off the cliff, and escapes.

Though the Pokémon is gone, the Professor tells you that hope for restoring Baloncé's balance is not lost; the device was a tracking device, allowing her to find out where it goes and to learn more about it. In the mean time, your task is still to become the best trainer you possibly can, and to enter the Hall of Fame; now that you've fought members of an Elite Four and faced some of the strangest elemental forces Baloncé has to offer, it's time to defeat the Pokémon League at Ultimoak City! She gives you the HM08 Dive, to ensure you can complete your task.

Dystopia: On switch-in, changes the Ability of all active combatants (including itself) to Defeatist.

Mawcrocosm and Team Echo will return later for the VS Café subplot, in which Sherbert tries to open a stylish new Symmachine City café - only to find himself at the heart of a conflict with a Legendary Pokémon with an infinite appetite, and the psycho cult that follows it! But, don't worry, in the end, justice, and dessert, will be served.

Wow.

One suggestion is that can we please keep Specice to regular galale? It keeps the line to simple elemental spheres like the other two. I will elaborate further when I have free time.

Also I like the RSE plot but I think it is a bit rediculous. I will also elaborate further on this when I have more time
