'Pokemon TCG Treasure Tin' in November [8/26]

I'm guessing it'll be somewhere around $25 US. The five boosters are close to $20, then the holos are maybe the extra $5. The coin and stickers aren't really worth much. The highest I would guess is $30 if the tin is bigger than I'm thinking it is.

It definitely looks pretty cool though.

Do "we" have a remote idea of what the Boosters will be? Safe to assume Phantom I guess.. though, it feels weird.. the Tin being ORAS and all, haha.

I guess this confirms ORAS will be getting a TCG set? Its sad, I wanted more XY, hopefully they continue the type support (Fire type in flash fire, fighting in Furious fists, Psychic in phantom force)

Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip promos? Does that mean that there's going to be regular, non-EX lines for the starters? Or perhaps it's just to promos... or maybe they're bringing back stage 2 EX's!

I guess we'll have to wait and find out!

Stage 2 EXs? Nobody would play these EXs, actual EXs are way faster and personally I'm glad they abandoned the Stage 2 EX mechanic. Maybe these starters' cards are only promos and nothing more ;)

But I'm so sad that XY era is already fading out.

So are these going to be random, or will you know which promo you get?
There's no window like previous tins to see which card is inside.
The "lunchbox" design is kinda fun.

Not sure if it's intentional, but the design of tin and the preview cards seem kinda like a throwback to the original Ex era tins they did back then.

Boooooo! This product completely disproves my Reprint Set theory! Darn you, cruel, jerk-like, ORAS fanbase!

So what this says to me is we have to have Zygarde in Phantom Forces ;). Or that they'll ditch the OR/AS era when/if we get a sequel game(s) for Z or X2/Y2.

Okay really that makes XY a pretty short era, though to be fair it's could really be viewed as a 'combination' era, like when they had Diamond/Pearl (DP) era and then Platinum era (Pl) but it might as well have been one big era in itself. But really should we be surprised by this? Furious Fists gave us at least one card form of all of the new non-mega Pokemon introduced in the games in this generation. Who knows what will be in Phantom Forces but probably not the new 'variance' of Pokemon that we had in the last three sets now that they've all (bar Zygarde, Hoopa and Volcanion) been released in some way.

It's a little odd though when to date the only thing ORAS has to contribute to this TCG generation is less than a dozen (ten to be precise) new Mega Pokemon to date plus however they're going to handle Primal Kyogre and Groudon, assuming they are the only primal Pokemon we see. I guess we may know soon how they plan to handle the primals though.

Just for the record, if they release megas they way they've been doing it in the past, it would take fifteen sets to get them all out. This ignores the primals (if they do it the same way it'd be sixteen), this assumes no Mega will have more than one form (like say Mega Ampharos or Mega Sceptile which really could have two versions if desired) and this assumes that Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y are handled in the same fashion as both Mega Charizards. They may not be interested in getting all Megas out before the (presumable) next generation, which will undoubtfully bring out more Megas anyway, but just an interesting thing to note.

Yeah I wrote something like this in an earlier thread. They now will have to include megas in every set. It is not like the ex or level x cards where you can end it just like that. This means the EX cards we have now will also continue, along with the secret rarer card and full art. You then have to top that of with X and Y pokemon having to be included in as many sets. All this together makes the TCG congested Especially if ORAS set will be introduced in February 2015.

Yeah, I'm not surprised that others like you have written things like this too. To anyone who's really been paying attention this is at least the fifth tme (probably more really) that I've commented on megas place in the card game too. Barring of course any 'special' set like they did with Dragon's Vault (a Mega Vault) though ouf course the reality of it is basically non existent.

Can you imagine if they decided to make some of them have different types to them like having Mega Sceptile have a Grass form and a Dragon form? That would easily double the sets it would take to get them out. Which is why it probably won't happen really.

I think for the first OR/AS set they should up their megas by at least one. I personally would love to see Mega Sceptile, Mega Swampert, and Mega Blaziken released at the same time.

Are you seriously believing the XY era is over? I've said this tons of times before, you're just comparing this case to the Gen 4 era instead of the gen 3 era. When FRLG were released, did the corresponding set ended the EX era? No. What will likely happen is they will have some sets based on ORAS until the release of Z or whatever the 3rd Kalos game will be, and then have sets based on that game, but it will be all part of the same TCG era...

EX era were different (EX Ruby & Sapphire, EX FireRed LeafGreen). Now is XY era, and I don't know what they'll do with the XY era when ORAS will be out. They can't ignore ORAS in the TCG, but they can't publish it in the XY era.

XY-OmegaRuby & Alpha Sapphire? No, absolutely not.

I'd be fine with all that, if we then got a decent secret rare system instead of this gold border nonsense.

gold stars ftw!!!! 1 per case!!!!! a solid rarity

Gold Star cards look really nice too. Maybe they could put the icing on the cake and make more than 1 good(Joteon Star <3 you boo). I hope they make the pokemon shiny for Mega Evolutions.

25$ and I will be game.
