The Poliwrath line has just been revealed from SV6 Mask of Change! The set will release in Japan on April 26th. It should then combine with March’s Crimson Haze to form our Twilight Masquerade set in May.

Maybe this is the poliwrath to use with the politoed from silver tempest lost origin?

This isn't unplayable, this ain't Dark Crobat or shiny Mega Gengar-EX or No Removal Gym or First Ticket. Lucario Spirit Link

This will be the sixteenth unique Poliwrath, and we currently have eight unique Politoed. Considering that the third previous English set featured the Poliwrath line but no Politoed, it feels like this was Politoed's turn to shine. Sadly, Politoed has never appeared on it's own; it has been accompanied by the more frequently spotlighted Poliwrath or simply not featured at all.

Curiously, though, Poliwrath's latest solo appearance not only makes sense from a thematic perspective, but suggests we may get a Politoed in the next English set. Poliwrath was one of Kieran's Pokémon in the first half of the DLC, which Mask of Change is based on. Dipplin, his signature Pokémon in the Teal Mask half of the DLC, was featured both in Crimson Haze and in Mask of Change; two of his other Pokémon, Cramorant and Probopass, were featured in Crimson Haze. Now, Shiftry and Gliscor have been featured within the last couple of sets, and Furret and Yanmega are nowhere to be seen (Sadness), but I'm noticing a subtle trend.

How does this suggest we may get Politoed in the next English set? Well, Kieran later goes full Smogon and replaces his Poliwrath with a Politoed, so I think the odds of getting Politoed are favorable. Ironically, such an appearance would be Politoed's first solo appearance.

Wait, No Removal Gym and one of the two Dark Crobat you might be referring to are playable.

Three deck lists with No Removal Gym.

And two deck lists with the Dark Crobat from Neo Destiny (yeah, the other Dark Crobat is bad).

I'm pretty sure the other cards you mentioned are unplayable, though. In the case of Lucario Spirit Link, because M Lucario EX had rotated.

Politoed's first solo appearance was in Guardians Rising, specifically because they ignored it when they printed the rest of the Polis in SM1.
