Project Custom 3-Pokebeach Site (Approved by PMJ)

3 problems Stuarts, I printed it and read it on the crapper.

1. 2nd line - heard him him to us.

2. “I feel so alive. But I shouldn’t, should I?” I thought, body trembling. “I think I’m insane!”

3. Sweating, I spun around and saw the four Pokémon pushing through the forest. They stopped in surprise, giving me enough time to smash down a nearby tree. I watched and smiled as the vile Pokémon were crushed under the log. I slammed each of them in the face with my foot, one at a time. I kept at it until none of them were breathing.

I couldn’t comprehend what I’d just done. I’d never killed anything in my life, and yet, there, right before my eyes, laid three bodies, each covered by a log placed there by me. Each with my footprint implanted on their face.

Nice pokemaniac. :]
I liked your idea of making the pokemon storage box different for the pokemon inside.
Hitmonlee is becoming evil. :O

Is there a way to count the words in my fanfic without having to count the words one by one?

If you have MS Word, you can do Spell check and it'll count the words for you. Just make sure not to count the , etc. tags.

dmaster out.

I am taking feedback B-Ray:

_-_ Sorry I posted the wrong one! That is not the one I meant to post...Can I replace it with the animated version?

I'm back....sorry I was gone for a few days, my grandmother on my fathers side died and I had to take a little trip with limited computer access.

On the topic of violence-Since the premise is violent, I'd assume its okay but keep it PG at best. There are children on this forum, and they deserve to be respected as such.

Also, something people should know to begin with but obviously dont: Please do not comment on works submitted until AFTER the challenge. If they make errors, dont correct them, it is THEIR job to do those things and that would be considered as outside help, which is a big no-no in PC3. After the judges posted their scores, feel free to comment and congratulate the winner. Until then, please refrain from any comment towards submitted pieces. Thank you.

For those of you who submitted a piece and are waiting on feedback-I will hopefully get to you TOMORROW. I have alot to do tonight, so I doubt I will be getting to them that soon, but I will hopefully get them done by tomorrow. Thank you for your patience.

Ohh rasberrys, I think that was obviosly directed at me, Im slow....

Hmm..
I'm not exactly sure if mine would be classsified as PG. :/

It seems all right to me, but I'm not sure...

I'm not sure if I made it in time for the incentive, but if I have, I'd like the +2 points to my final score.

Custom Banner Entry:

It used to be an animation, but quality was lost when I saved to a .gif file, and the crystal-clear .ani file isn't usable in any of my current image hosting accounts, so I had to end up with this. :/

EDIT: If I need to sign this, I will - I just didn't want it to look out of place in the image.

Man, this thing came out of nowhere for me. Consider the bonus points for incentive null and void.

I've seen some great work already though :>

Yes, today is the last day for incentives to be received when you turn in a piece. After today, no incentive will be given to new entries.

-Black Rayquaza

Well, here's my piece. I wanted to edit it some, but I don't think I'll have the time before the deadline is done.

EVERYTHING is done by me, besides the Gengars. Everything else, background, etc. straight me. =] The trees and clouds were brushes, the moon and wood I drew, yada yada yada.

Here's my entry for the Fanfic Challenge:
-----------------------------------------------------
“War. I speak to you three – my envoys – on the topic of war against those that have so hastily imprisoned my creations. Be my words, solidified, and carry my message to the prisoners. We will rise today back to our original grandeur… As the ruling force on this planet!” With that, Arceus dismissed its three-man audience, granting the three lake spirits the rights to cause the uprising that would forever split the world of humans and Pokémon…

It was a cold winter day in Sinnoh, but the chilling breezes weren’t nearly powerful enough to chain the hearty Pokémon trainers of the large continent indoors. Garret stood still, without a single shiver, in the trying winds, overlooking the coast of Pastoria. Although normally empty at this time of year - which utterly contrasts its popularity in the summer month’s warm, welcoming rays - the coast was swarming with vigorous trainers testing the limits of their captured Pokémon. “Well,” Garret proudly announced to himself, “now’s the time to shine!” With that, he rushed down to the coast to find a challenger worthy of taking on his prized comrades.

He quickly spotted someone familiar, someone he’d seen beat Crasher Wake just the other day, and energetically asked for a battle. The boy, somewhat skeptical of Garret’s talents, accepted with a half-smile. The two hastily drew makeshift boundaries in the cold sand, and then met in the middle for the customary pre-battle handshake. Garret was first to speak up. “Hey! I’m Garret. Thanks for accepting my offer…” He trailed off, hoping the boy would catch on and state his name, to which the boy did not disappoint. “Cal,” the boy calmly said, smiling. “Nice to meet you, Garret.” “And it’s nice to finally meet you, Cal,” Garret quickly replied. “I saw you the other day walking out of Pastoria’s Gym with the Fen badge. Congrats!” “Oh, it was really nothing,” Cal stated, ending the handshake. “Wake’s Pokémon were no match for mine. Hopefully you’ll prove to be more of a challenge.” He grinned playfully at Garret, who mirrored the expression; the two trainers then took to their respective sides on the field and prepared their Pokémon. “Three on three alright with you, Cal?” “Sure thing, Garret!” The two threw their first Pokéball out and the battle had commenced.

On Garret’s side, an Infernape had appeared – its glorious, blazing crown burned white-hot as it deftly bounced in place, ready to strike upon command. On Cal’s side, a Sceptile – its proud posture echoing the years of training it had obviously endured to get to its current physique. “An Infernape,” Cal started, “is a great choice for a staring Pokémon! This could be the challenge I’ve been waiting for!” “Glad to hear it,” Garret responded, still grinning. “Infernape! Swords Dance!” Upon hearing the command, the inferno-like ape started frenetically dancing, becoming increasingly tense with each step. “Sceptile, you do the same,” Cal barked. The verdant lizard quickly followed suit, making adept movements to focus its strength. Upon seeing that Infernape had finished its preparations, Garret ordered it to follow up with a Flare Blitz. The ape quickly complied, charging at Sceptile with its body cloaked in flames. Cal took notice and, moments before Infernape could strike his Pokémon, yelled “Sceptile! False Swipe!” The lizard stopped its motions and gazed intensely at Infernape. Noticing its foe’s glare, Infernape jumped up towards its foe and punched – but in an instant Sceptile had dodged the attack and appeared immediately behind Infernape. In mere milliseconds the lizard took a clean swipe at Infernape, canceling out the blitz and causing the ape to fly across the sand. “That fast?!,” Garret exclaimed, unable to believe what he’d just seen. Infernape tried to stand, but realized it had nearly no more strength to go on. “Finish it now, Sceptile! Quick Attack!” Cal commanded. Doing as told, Sceptile rammed its opponent, causing Infernape to faint in defeat. “One down, two to go,” Cal taunted. Garret despondently called his Pokémon back, then tossed his second Pokéball out into the playing field. From it emerged a Garchomp, its sleek body gleaming with might. “I was going to save you for last, but I think now’s your time, Garchomp,” Garret yelled. “Okay! Swords Dance, Garchomp!” The massive dragon did as it was told, and before the other trainer could even speak, it had finished its crazed dance and was ready to charge at its foe. “Now, Garchomp! Fire Fang!” Flames poured from the mouth of the dragon, and, using its sleek form, it rushed towards Sceptile, biting down with incredible force. The green beast got free and limply jumped back, the flames still lingering on the wound. “Yes! Burned it!” Garret exclaimed. Still calm, Cal ordered his Pokémon to return. “I’ll count that as a win, Garret – I don’t think he’d be able to take down a Garchomp in that condition. So now… Go! Mamoswine!” On Cal’s side appeared a massive beast, its frigid tusks attesting to its power. The cold winds seemed to make the Pokémon feel even mightier than its body already showed it to be. “This is going to be tough,” Garret said to himself. Cal smirked upon seeing his foe’s worry. “Mamoswine! Ice Shar---!” Before he could finish his command, the ground quaked violently, causing all trainers and Pokémon in the area to stumble and fall. Panic filled the air as trainers desperately tried to return their Pokémon and escape to shelter. Garret quickly got to his feet and grabbed onto Garchomp, which was looking up towards the sky with an intense stare. “What’s going on here?” Cal got to his feet and called back his Mamoswine. “Did you order Garchomp to do an Earthquake?” the startled boy quickly asked. “No way,” Garret answered. “That attack’s too dangerous to pull off, especially after a Swords Dance. What could have caused that?” “I’m going back to the Pokémon Center for now to see if anything has come up on the news,” Cal replied, rushing towards Pastoria. Garret worriedly looked at his Garchomp, which was still staring at the sky. He returned his Pokémon and followed Cal to Pastoria…

“…News of the destruction caused by unruly Pokémon has been reported near Lake Acuity to the north, as well as lake Verity to the west. Various trainers have reported that their Pokémon simply went berserk and wouldn’t reply to any of their orders. We have one of these trainers with us – hello, miss. Would you mind explaining to us exactly what happened…” Garret turned his attention from the Pokémon Center’s television to nurse Joy, who’d just finished healing his Pokémon. “Thank you, Joy,” he said, taking the Pokéballs from her and returning them to his belt. He looked back up at the television screen. “…Thank you for your time, miss.” The news anchor grabbed at his earpiece briefly before addressing his viewers once again. “I now have breaking news. It appears that the same kind of unrest has been reported at Lake Valor. According to the trainers such as the one we just interviewed, it seems like strange ‘mirage Pokémon’ are wrapped up in all of this. With us now is Cynthia, the champion of the Elite Four and expert on Sinnoh mythology. Please, can you tell us what you know about these ‘mirage Pokémon’?” “Yes. This unrest is undoubtedly caused by the three Pokémon of Sinnoh’s lakes – Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf. The three are said to keep the world in balance by sleeping at the bottom of these lakes. But no myth that I’m aware of ever mentioned anything about them causing Pokémon to go berserk…” The news anchor took over again. “Thank you for your time. I’ll keep you all up to date on this catastrophe as it develops.”

Garret looked away from the screen, his mind flooded with worries about what would happen to his Pokémon. He looked around the crowded Center for Cal, but the boy was nowhere to be found. “I’ll have to check this out on my own, then,” Garret decided. He erased all worry from his mind and, after taking a deep breath, ran out of Pastoria’s Pokémon Center, heading towards the dangers of Lake Valor and away from the safety of the city…

The cold breezes had turned into frigid stormy gusts, and the sky had darkened considerably since the earthquake. Towering clouds calmly twisted in the sky above, and lightning jumped from cloud to cloud, occasionally striking the ground off in the distance. Garret quickly reached the entrance to Lake Valor, and the sky above it was darker than anywhere else. The slowly twisting clouds had become black vortexes in the sky, threatening to tear at the land at any time. The path to Veilstone lay to his right, and from that direction he could hear the battle cries of various Pokémon and the yelling of countless people as they tried to escape the destruction. Garret clenched his fists tightly, digging his nails into his palms, and rushed towards the lake before him. As he ran down the tree-lined path to the lake, he could see that many parts of the forest that surrounded the lake had been demolished by the lightning that so steadily fell from the sky. He reached the lake within a minute of running. The sight that lay before him now shook him to the core. The land around the lake was cracked and torn, and countless trees were carelessly strewn about. The waters of the lake were churning out of control and whirlpools had formed in various parts of the lake. The sky above resembled the eye of a black hurricane – calm and ominous in the center, yet chaotic and ever twisting. The tunnel of the eye seemed to stretch upwards forever.

Regaining his focus to his front, Garret noticed a huddled mass yards ahead of him. “Is that… A person…?” He cautiously approached the mass from behind and noticed it was Cal. “Cal,” Garret exclaimed, “I knew you’d be here!” But the boy returned no words nor looked at him, so Garret tried again. “Cal! Can’t you hear me? It’s…!” Garret leaned over and tried to grab Cal’s arm, but his hand met with a wet stump, and he quickly retracted his grip. His hand was stained red, and Cal was sobbing quietly to himself and clutching at the wound. “It….,” the injured boy spoke up, “it took my Pokémon…” Garret, dazed by all that was going on, struggled to regain his composure and let out a meek “What took them?” Cal simply pointed at the center of the lake, where a light blue outline was shining intensely. “What is that?” Garret said, squinting to get a better look at the mysterious being before him. The blue shape was looping around in the air gracefully until it noticed Garret. It let out a little cry and ceased its acrobatic dives and flips. Garret froze in place, his eyes meeting with the glowing yellow eyes of the little Pokémon. The Pokémon let out another cry, this time louder, and the water underneath it was forced outwards, splashing violently over the sides of the lake. When the water settled, the little pixie’s true body was seen.

“What are you?” Garret asked, concerned with the power of the little Pokémon. The Pokémon spoke through telepathy in a child’s voice. “I am known as Azelf, spirit of Lake Valor and the being of willpower.” “What have you done with Cal’s Pokémon!?” The little pixie let out a laugh. “As commanded by the Original One, we have freed the Pokémon your sinister race have so mindlessly captured. However, we’re not quite through.” “Do you mean the other spirits of the lakes are in on this, too?!” Garret erupted. As he finished his words, the other two pixies appeared in the center of the lake with Azelf. The three now spoke in unison. “Do not stand in our way, or we will have no choice but to cause you pain,” the menacing beings warned. “Don’t think I’m giving up my Pokémon without a fight,” Garret said through clenched teeth, his anger rising. He grabbed for all six Pokéballs on his belt and tossed them forward, each one landing at the lake’s edge. Cal silently looked on, unable to muster the strength to warn Garret of the powers each pixie held. As the Pokémon appeared from their Pokéballs, the pixies began circling around them, each one exhibiting its mighty power. Uxie wiped the memory of the Pokémon, Mesprit turned their emotion to rage, and Azelf bent their wills to control them. In an instant, every second of time Garret had spent with his Pokémon was forgotten, erased for all time, and his beloved friends were turned against him. He dropped to his knees before the three lake spirits and his six new enemies.

His eyes swelled with tears and his body grew sore as he thought of how easily he’d lost his faithful companions. “I…,” he croaked, clutching at his chest, tears pouring from his eyes. He looked up at his lost friends, but couldn’t see through the tears. A bolt of lightning landed between Garret and the menacing group ahead of him, blinding Garret for a moment. When his sight returned, the pixies and his Pokémon were gone, and in their place stood a glowing white horse-like Pokémon. Its magnificent body was adorned with a brilliant golden ring, golden hooves, and a golden plate on its head. Its divine appearance wrapped Garret’s soul in awe, and the tears kept pouring from his eyes. The Pokémon looked down at Garret, its eyes showing no pity for the sorrowful human before it. It spoke in a voice that soothed Garret’s soul and set his mind at ease: “Mind you not the events that will take place after this moment – you shall not need to worry. The fate of all Pokémon rests in me, and your kind has abused not only the freedom of my children by binding them to you in what you call Pokéballs, but you also force violence between them with needless fighting for your own gain. I am not foolish, however. I know there are those that are kind to my creations. Their fates will not mimic your own. Now, please, rest in peace, and forget all of your worries. We will take our rightful place in this world and live in peace once again.” The Pokémon bowed its head and the gems on its wheel began shining brightly. Garret’s vision began darkening. The Pokémon spoke one last time: “Your judgment… is now.”

With that, Garret’s vision went white, and all was quiet…

Just to let you know, I've almost hit the word minimum in my fanfic. The word amount is going to be ridiculously close to the minimum...

EDIT:phew! I finished. There are 1566 words in it. I'd like feedback please.

Keep running. Just keep running.

It was late afternoon as Jason tore through the Orebourgh Mines. He could feel the wind pound against his face as he ran as fast as his legs could move. Just to think, three hours ago he was a normal boy living a normal life. Now he was running for his life.

It all started about a week before. Jason was in his room, watching TV. Well, he wasn't really watching TV. The TV was on, but he wasn't paying attention. He was just staring at the wall, thinking. Suddenly he heard loud bangs coming from above him. He knew his dad was working on something.

Jason's dad was a famous scientist named Robert Quinn. He traveled the world as he astounded people with his amazing inventions. But soon he married and had a son. He soon stopped his travels and started working in their attic so he could spend time with his family. He was still world-famous, just not as world-famous.

Jason was curious. He wanted to know what his dad was making. So he left his room, climbed the stairs, and made his way to the attic. His father had done a great job turning the attic into a workshop. He had put in a special worktable. He had various machines installed which did all sorts of cool things. Jason had been in there a lot, but it was still very cool.

He could tell his father was in there. The red light next to the door was on, which meant he was in there. Also, there was quite a racket going on in there. Jason knocked on the door. His father didn't like it when he just barged in. His father poked his head out of the door.

"What do you need Jason?" asked his father. He seemed a little annoyed that Jason was interrupting his work. "What are you doing in there Dad?" he asked curiously. "Its a secret project that's not finished yet. I'll show you it when its done. For now, why don't you play outside?" his father asked. At that moment, another small head poked out from behind the door.

It was Eevee, the family pet. It wore a bell around it's neck. "Can Eevee come with me?" asked Jason hopefully. It was so much fun playing with Eevee. "Sorry, you can't" said his father, dissapointing Jason. "Eevee is my test subject. Go play with your friends". And with that, he shut the door.

So Jason went outside. He had a lot of fun that week. He played with his friends, went shopping, watched pokemon battles, climbed trees, mostly normal kid stuff. But he couldn't get the invention off is mind. What did it do? Why was his father keeping it a secret? And why did he need Eevee? Finally, a week later his father came into his room. "Are you ready to see my invention?" he asked, grinning from ear to ear. Jason followed him up to the attic, where his father handed him a small radar gun with headphones attached. It also had a trigger on the handle and a little antenna poking out from the end.

"What does it do?" asked Jason. "It translates pokemon language into English" he said. "Put on the headphones, point it at Eevee, ask it a question, and pull the trigger" instructed his father. Jason followed his father's order. He asked Eevee how it was doing, and pulled the trigger.

Normally, he would have just heard pokemon talk. But instead he heard "I'm doing great!". "Wow! This is amazing!" said Jason in astonishment. "Can I try it out?". He thought it would be so fun to see what other pokemon said and to show it off to his friends

"Well, I have been meaning to see if it works on other pokemon" said his father. "Go ahead. I have to stay behind and work on something else. Run along now". Then he turned to his worktable and started working.

So Jason bounded out the door and started into the city. The city was busy, as it was lunch hour for the workers. People were making there way into restaurants and stores. Jason suddenly spotted a group of pokemon running toward the mine. "Weird" he thought. "I wonder why all the pokemon are going to one place". He was so deep in thought that he walked right into a man. "Hey!" the man shouted. "Watch where you're going!". "Sorry" said Jason. He dodged his way passed the rest of the people and to the Oreburgh Mines. The entrance was on the outskirts of the city, but the underground tunnels criss-crossed all under the city.

On his way, he spotted a trainer training his pokemon. He stopped to watch. The pokemon was a Monferno. "COME ON!" shouted the angry trainer. "USE FLAME WHEEL!". He could see the poor Monferno was trying as hard as it could to perform the attack, but just couldn't. Yet the trainer kept yelling at him. "Poor Monferno" he thought, shaking his head. "Some people just don't know how to raise pokemon correctly". He continued on.

Soon he spotted another trainer. This one had a Girafarig. "OK Girafarig" said the trainer. "Let's try that Psybeam again". The Girafarig tried the attack, but it failed, only coming out as a tiny pink beam that wouldn't hurt a fly. "That's OK" said the trainer calmly. "Do you want to try it again?" The Girafatig nodded. "OK, try it again!" said the trainer. "Now that is how to raise a pokemon." thought Jason. He guessed there were just some people meant to raise pokemon, and some who weren't.

He reached the mines. They were his favorite place to play. It was almost always empty, so he had it all to himself. There were so many tunnels, he would always play around by randomly walking through the tunnel, then trying to find his way back out. He never got lost. He also liked to play with the pokemon down there. There were Machops, Onixs, and Geodudes. He always had a great time with them.

In the mines, he went through a series of twisting tunnels. He was exploring. He was trying to find pokemon so he could use the invention. He walked through the tunnels, but he couldn't find any pokemon. "Weird" he thought. "Its as if they all disappeared".

He came to a large room carved in the mine walls. He heard chatter inside, but not human chatter. He looked inside the room, and gasped. Inside was hundreds of pokemon talking with one another. He quickly put on the translator so he could understand what they were saying.

"Order, order!" shouted a Raichu standing on a large rock. Nobody listened. Suddenly, it used Thunderbolt on the large rock ceiling. Large rocks came crashing to the floor. That shut them up. "I think you all know why were here today" said the Raichu. "We are here because the trainers are not treating us like we should be treated. They think were just tools that they can yell at and hurt like were nothing. But were more than that. We're life too. So that is why we are here: to plan the revolt".

"Revolt?" thought Jason. "What are they talking about?". He kept listening.

"Here is the plan" said the Raichu. "We will invade Orebourgh City first. Then, we will gather up more pokemon troops. After that, we'll take over the world!" All the pokemon cheered.

"Take over the world!" thought Jason "I have to tell somebody!" He figured these must be some of the pokemon like that Monferno that were fateful enough to have bad trainers who abused their power and didn't treat them good at all. He knew he wouldn't like to be treated like that. He was turning to leave when he stepped on some pebbles. They cracked.

All the pokemon turned to look. Jason froze. He didn't know what to do. "GET HIM!" shouted the Raichu, as all the pokemon started to chase him. Jason was scared. For a second he didn't know what to do. His mind was telling him to run. He just couldn't. His legs finally regained feeling and he started to run as fast as he could.

So now we're back at the beginning. He ran all the way through the mines. He was running when suddenly some of the pokemon appeared in front of him. They had taken a shortcut, and now he was surrounded.

Then suddenly from behind, a Glaceon used Ice Beam. He dove out of the way. The Ice Beam hit a Munchlax in front of him and had froze. Suddenly Jason got an idea. "Hey Glaceon!" he said. "You know, I've seen sleeping Snorlaxs with better aim then you!". This made the Glaceon mad. It started firing Ice Beams off very quickly. It was all going according to plan. All the Ice Beams missed and hit the pokemon in front of him. They all were frozen solid. He jumped over them and made his escape.

When he exited, he stopped and looked backed. The pokemon weren't chasing him anymore. Now he thought that it was over. That he could just go home and go back to a normal life.

Well, he was wrong.
