Quad Heatmor

I've been having a blast with this deck on TCGO. It's a stupid deck with a simple strategy. Get out Heatmor, use firey licks, discard a bunch of energy and hopefully hit for 200. Here's my deck list.

4 Heatmor
4 Ether
4 Level ball
4 Skyla
44 fire energy

Skyla is awesome in the deck since it can get you access to everything you need. Level ball gets out your other heatmor, thinning your deck and filling your bench while ether provides a very reliable means of acceleration.

It's still pretty luck based. You can get bad hands, you can wiff on fiery licks, they can catcher stall you if you can't set up fast enough, and you can deck yourself out (especially if you're playing against durant). There are a lot of times when things come down to top decks and even then you can still wiff on your attack. It's hardly competitive, but it's a fun deck to play that has a few tricks of it's own.

This deck is just bad. You can't even consider it a fun deck, since there is no fun.

I think you nailed it. It's very simple and to the point. I would like Random Receiver in my list to have a better chance of getting Skyla without it getting in the way of Fiery Licks, but that's just me.

I think this deck would be amazing if we had more set up decks instead of T1 Landorus and Tornadus and T2 Darkrai. My friend's list seems to be able to (somewhat) consistently get a T2 Fiery Licks; one time, he got it T1. But he could never keep something Benched and I would usually win even playing him with a Stage 2 deck. But it did win some matches. I certainly wouldn't say it's terrible.

"You can't even consider it a fun deck, since there is no fun"

Who are you again? A random person on the internet? Seriously, who are you to judge what is fun?

He said that someone else can't call it a fun deck.

I'd say he is speaking for everyone.

yeah i agree this is a bad troll deck. the idea looks fun but the problem is that your limited to only 4 pokemon which means you could just have heatmor out and get owned

But Soul, it was not an opinion. If it were an opinion, you would have said "This deck is not fun TO ME/IMO"

What you said stated that it was no fun for anyone, which is not true. I find it hilarious when a Darkrai dies to my Heatmor. I run 4 Ether, 4 Heatmor, and 52 Fires in mine. Much, much fun.

I love Quad Heatmor and use it whenever I'm bored and want to have some fun on tcgo. My list is a bit different though. I added a Victini ex and a victory piece as well as a Juniper and N for when the going gets tough. And then 2 or 3 Pokedex.

It's definitely a super fun deck and everyone I've played against with it were in good spirits especially when they're using one of the meta decks and are losing big time. It starts getting intense once you're all properly set up! But then there's those Virbank/Laser matchups that pretty much destroy you turn 1 lol.

I love my Quad Heatmor. I really do.

Also love my Donphan/Landorus/Tornadus deck, but... That is actually somewhat competitive.

Quad Rayquaza is similar to this, it also has the exact same problem. Keeping a bench. It is a fun deck idea though, while there may not be a ton of skill involved that doesn't mean it isn't fun

Quad Rayquaza is actually almost exactly the same deck (Pooka just made his incorrectly because he is used to standard decks with search and supporters, etc). 4 Rayquaza EX, 4 Ether, 26 Fire, 26 Lightning.

Seriously. That's all you need.

You don't even need Ether is Rayquaza. Just use Celestial Roar. Let's you make for room for Catchers.

No. If you are stupid about it like Pooka was and actually put stuff you'd put in a normal deck, you just ruin your energy gain. Ether is for double attaching, in case you only need 120 or 60 damage to KO. Nothing else needs be in this deck.

Or you could be stupid and not put in Catcher allowing your opponent to build up something on the Bench to OHKO your only Rayquaza in play.

Maybe it would be useful to have Ether as well, but you already have energy acceleration, so it's not as crucial as in Heatmor. You could also just include Catcher in addition to Ether.

But the thing is, look at the vid on TTC's channel and see what he did wrong. He added too much non-energy, and thus, he almost lost (didn't lose because lucky) because he whiffed the T1 Roar on energy, discarding a dex, skyla, and juniper. You ideally want maybe 4 trainers, no more than 6, in your entire deck. AND NO SUPPORTERS. >.< Ether, in a deck like this, is so good that it BEGS to be used, and, when you can OHKO anything T2 anyway, who needs Catcher?

Juniper and N are unwarented in this deck, but only because there's nothing you need to draw except for an energy which you're guarenteed to draw. Skyla is understandable since upon its use, you search a non-energy card out of your deck. The reason Catcher is needed is because any good player will do what I mentioned earlier, and that is set up something on the Bench that can OHKO Heatmor/Rauquaza and feed you Emolgas/extra Squirtles/Tynamos. Your argument is that Ether is so good that it begs to be used, but can't we say the same about Catcher? Few things are better than selecting your target this format.

It doesn't hurt your odds of getting energy of off Celestrial Roar too terribly either. Assuming you start with Rayquaza, you are likely to get one other non-energy card. That leaves ten non-energy cards remaining in the deck. There is still a roughly 50% chance that Celestrial Roar will yield ALL THREE energies. Even if you only get two, between Ether and attachments, you can still do 180 T2.
