That's great! There was too much completed to stop now.
Honestly, you don't.
Here's how the thought process for a fangame should go.
1. DO I HAVE THE CAPABILITIES? You should've stopped here. This is a major part of the game-making process and with indy-gaming CANNOT be passed down to someone other than the leader unless all the team members can easily meet in person. Continuity is unachievable with multiple makers outside of this, and sticking the making on someone else is hardly going to get you anywhere, much less make it your game.
2. WHAT WILL HAPPEN? Get your concepts, stories and such started. It shouldn't be public at this point; right about here the game is a mere shell. Make sure your story is decent(obviously not a requirement but please do), possibly start making the game, and here we're ready to start. If you must, get a friend to help with the story(if youm don't have a writing friend perhaps seek out a helper).
3. SEEK HELP! Remember, your thread should be showing off your game, not saying hay plz halp meh. Make sure at all times you are doing the lionshare as it is your project and thus you should be the hardest worker. Make your thread appealing - have some pretty screenshots or nice artworks to make people feel your game is taking shape. Take in every one's comments and don't wall them(I'm guilty of walling arguments, I'll admit) as then they won't respect your project as much as they could.
4. WORK HARD! Very, very
very hard to an exceptional degree.
5. CONTINUE WORKING HARD!
6. GO BACK AND REVIEW AND EDIT YOUR CONTENT SO FAR!
7. RESUME WORKING HARD!
8. CONTINUE WITH RESUMED HARD WORK!
9. GO BACK AND REVIEW AND EDIT YOUR CONTENT SO FAR!
10. RESUME WORKING HARD!
11. REPEAT FROM STEP 4 WHILST REMEMBERING STEP 3
NEVER ENDS UNTIL YOUR PROJECT DOES TOO!
There you go, 11 steps to fan-making success(Note - may not have placed enough emphasis on the effort required)
