It looks very similar to Twinleaf town... Maybe you should add a backyard to each house, and, like you said, one can have a pool, and there could also be one with lots of tall grass and stuff like that.

Also, how about this for getting your starter:
You go to the Professor's house to greet him and his wife. They just moved from somewhere. Then, they decide to ask you to round up some wild Pokémon in their backyard that have been eating all of Mrs. Professor's Oran berries. Then, you do a Pal Park-type thing where you run around in their backyard and catch all 3 starters. Then, the professor's wife lets you and the other two kids in the town have them. You get the first pick, since you caught them. The kid who lives next door to the professor picks the one that beats you, and the kid next door to you gets the one that you beat.

Flygon999, taking in critisisms is all part of making anything of quality.

This new map is a certain improvement over your last, but there's a problem. Towns are for PEOPLE, not PLOT DEVICES. I see your house, your rival's house, the lab and the professor's house... There's nothing there for little NPCs with little tid bits of information or stories to tell.

Also, I would love to know the origin of that tileset. Who made it?

And, we need to change the elites. They are all easily deafeted by ground types.

PokéManiac is PokeFanGameManiac, because, he posts on a lot of fangame threads.

Maybe there should be a Flying-Type E4?

As of now, I'm just trying to fix the home town.

I've added a fence already, I'm just trying to find water sprites because that sprite sheet didn't have any.

PokeManiac: I got them from pokecommunity, when the game is finished credit will be given to it's owner. Thanks for the criticism.

PPM: In twinleaf, Prof. and Dawn were in the next town. I also already have a beginning storyline...it's in the forums. Thanks anyway though.

I need a name for the hometown! >_<

Here is a rough demo, it includes:

-Home Town
-First Route
-Custom Character
-Inside of Buildings
-TV that works (hit enter when in front of TV from house with fence)
-Pokeball (hit enter when in front of pokeball, from the route)

I see you're using the default RPG Maker scripts... If you're making a Pokémon game, you don't want to do that.

Also, you should get the hang of making events. The Full Heal doesn't disappear when you get it (in the video at least), so you can get infinite Full Heals. Use self switches and pages with conditions in order to make the item disappear once you get it.

Wichu: I know that -_- the game is still in progress. I know the full heal doesn't disappear, I'm still trying to fix that.

I'm sorry, but at this stage the game shouldn't have a THREAD. There are countless errors, the TV doesn't change, the entrance to the route is one-way. You haven't even added the scripts yet!

I think you should consider learning RPG Maker better before going into this. I have a bajillion problems with my game, but it has become no longer worth my time to critique them. LEARN YOUR PROGRAM BEFORE TRYING TO RECREATE THE WORKS OF A MUCH LARGER, MUCH MORE MOTIVATED GROUP OF THE BEST DEVELOPERS!

So? My game's only 1/3 of the way done. Does that mean it shouldn't have a thread? No.
Pretty much the whole point of pre-release game threads is to get people to help you make it.
It's not like: "Hey guys! Come check out my game! No, you can't help. I was just showing it off so I could make you see how n00bish you are."
