yeah, it's depressing... can't really express the sickness in this.

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut

How could anyone do that? It's just wrong.... We live in a sick world.

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut

It's unreal that someone could go through with this. :( My heart goes out to all of the families affected. Many of these kids had their whole lives ahead of them...

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut

It's so sad knowing that these kids who went to school today happy it was Friday and excited for Christmas didn't even make it to lunch. My prayers are for the families who lost someone today and to anyone out there who has to send their child off to school every day.

That is all.

a black man kills, he's a menace to society
a foreign man kills, he's a terrorist.
a white man kills, he's insane.

that is all.

Ok, so what do you think? Not only did he kill children for no apparent reason, but then he committed suicide. Sounds insane.

You don't get it. I completely agree with jew's statement about indirect racial discrimination still happening. If a black or foreign man did that and didn't commit suicide, what do you think the consequences would be? Hypothesizing, if the killer didn't commit suicide, I guarantee that his charges would likely be much less. The point was not debating whether or not he was insane, his point was to show flawed American society, even today.

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut

My heart goes out to all that were affected by this heinous crime. I could not imagine someone being able to go into a school and kill defenseless children. These people are not even described as people anymore, more like blotches on humanity.

and it is still NOT about gun control
Because that's not the issue?

that is just not true. Every time a tragic shooting happens we decide to ignore talk of gun control and to instead focus on the victims, and the tragedy, etc. But if gun control was tighter, if background checks were more intense, and if people couldn't get their hands on semi-automatic rifles, this type of thing would not happen as much as it does (which is way too often).

People act like gun control is not to blame for mass shootings, it's all just "people are crazy," but it's not.

If you want to get guns, you will. Same with drugs, pornography, child slaves, and the like. In an ideal world, gun control would actually control guns.

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut

I disagree. The reason the these people can do these things is because guns can be obtained legally and easily. I am not talking about outlawing guns. I am saying that a person with a clean criminal record and no questionable incidents in their past should be able to own a handgun. The problem is the accessibility of high-powered, made-to-kill-people guns.

And while it is true to an extent that people will find a way to get their hands on something even if it is illegal, if you think it would be as easy (or as pain-free) to obtain a gun illegally as it is to do it legally now, you're crazy. That's like saying it's just as easy to get child porn right now as it would be if it was legal.

yo does the regular average joe have access to kiddie porn? no hes gotta go through intense shit to get what he wants.if there were gun control, average joes would again have to go through intense shit to get what they want. gun control stops the average joe from killing

I assure you that even a white dude would probably get the death charge (at the very least a life sentence) by killing 26 innocent people, including 20 children...

RE: School Shooting in Connecticut

Holy shit. I am tired of this stupid gun control arguements. 27 people died, and you all talk a bout gun control? Are you kidding me? What a god damn joke. This is not about gun control, and this will not turn into a god damn thread like that. Before the media explodes about a fudging gun control arguement, think about it and actually realize what happened. Don't fudging start with me.

Connecticut got rid of the death penalty, not allowd. It was terrible incident, and for somebody who lives literally 10 minutes away, this is sickening. 27 dead, and few realize this feat. The gun man is dead and we all realize that, but he still will bear the scars on many families. We have been in a lockdown all day when this terrible incident occurred. Nobody could leave the building. My friends and everybody in the school knows people who did die in that school, and I saw my friend cry today over it.

Just fudging stop with gun control arguements, do it somewhere else. Anywhere but here.
