I recently watched this vid from JubilifeTV, and he said that there is a rumor about Shiji-something (the deer pokemon) that it will have different evos depending on the Seasons.

What would you guys think of this if it was confirmed?

I doubt it would happen, but it would definitely be unique if it was true. Many animals go through changes during different seasons, so I can see it happening if there actually is a season system in Black and White.

This would be a pain. Nintendo wants us to try to "catch 'em all". If we get different pokes in different seasons, unless they're exact clones (like gastrodon west and east), players will be compelled to change their DS clock. I wouldn't be surprised if it happened, but the point would quickly be lost.

That's very likely cause I was thinking the same thing. Plus they did the day and night evos when they first introduced day and night into the games. I just wonder how they would do it cause if the game works with our real life calender, then it would suck to catch same thing that evolves in autumn and you look at the calendar and see that its March!

^This basically. It would become a problem fast and players would go all Animal Crossing on it.

Maybe they could heighten the chances of a Pokemon appearing on a particular season, rather than the Pokemon not appearing at all. For example: if it's Summer, finding Ice-type Pokemon is rare, and if it's Winter, Ice-types become more common. Meh, dunno. Just my opinion. :x

That's why they have various climatey locations in the game so we don't have to worry about things like that.

I could see something like that deer evolving into a raindeer type pokemon in the winter, and in the summer fall spring ect would evolve into an elk or something.

It would be okay if it was different features but on the same Pokémon e.g. longer horns, different coloration etc. If it were different Pokémon, it would suck.

Actually i see it possible for game freak to do this as one of the new ways to evolve pokemon and i would love The deer to have diffrent evolutions for each season
I would also like the Pokemon changing for each season, but i dont think they will make it impossible to get Pokemon that dont belong in that season, i mean pokemon can migrate to diffrent places like most animals

While the Idea of a seasonal Evolution sounds cool. the cool factor gets lost when you really want a Summereon, and it's in the middle of winter, and all you can get are Wintereons. Waiting MONTHS to get a certain pokemon would have me tossing my DS down in anger. so i don't want seasonal Evolutions. seasonal variation in rarity of pokemon? yes, loverly.

I completely agree with Ice on this. I would like different colored Pokemon, it would add uniqueness to teams. I (and a lot of other people) would be completely screwed if different Pokemon appeared in different seasons.

maybe its not gonna be like the real season waiting months, maybe the seasons will change every other day or week or something close to that nature, so you wont have to wait THAT long to get certain pokemon

Terrible, I would hate it, so annoying to have to wait a whole season to get the pokemon I want.

they would prob might have certain season for certain routes. like only one route would be in summer or something, just an idea

maybe team plasma is trying to change the weather all over Ishu and then you defeat them and you can go into one of their bases and go up to a machine to change the weather automatically.

It's an idea with great potential, and if done right, it'll be great. If done wrong (you won't be able to get so-and-so Pokemon at certain time of year), it's going to be a pain and we're going to have Animal Crossing all over again >_>
