Speed Lostgar?

So now we got that cleared, anybody have a skeleton build on trainers? I have league and would be happy to test and report.
How's this for a start...

Pokemon:

4x Gastly
3x Haunter
4x Gengar Prime
2x Spiritomb(TR)
3x Smeargle(Portrait)
1x Mr. Mime(CL)
=18

Trainer:

2x Pokémon Collector
4x Dual Ball
2x Pokegear 3.0
3x Switch
3x Junk Arm
4x Seeker
2x Super Scoop Up
4x Sage’s Training/Cheren/Juniper
4x Twins
3x Rare Candy
2x Lost World
=32

Energy:

10x Psychic Energy
=10

Will do! Anything else? What about the sage/cheren/juniper/bianca support? Not sure which way to go.

Smeargle looks like it's a good idea for the deck but it might cause more harm than good. First, if you're running a deck that has Juniper in it, Portrait can screw you up big-time. Second, you have to end up retreating the Smeargle later or letting it die.
Just make sure you know what you're doing when you choose to run Smeargle...

It was just a quick "beta" idea. I will try it out tonite.I can junk for switches/ssu's to get smeargle out of slot. Thinking of max potion over ssu though.

What do you suggest as draw support?

I use Cheerleader's Cheer myself; more often than not my opponent might not opt to draw a card as it might be a Pokemon. In a Speed Lostgar variant, that may or may not work, but it's an idea.

Either way, Smeargle is definitely a double-edged sword in this format, due to the lack of versatile supporters and Unown Q.

I agree if I hit a juniper on smeargle with a good hand it will bite. Pay off with smeargle using a supporter and look at the hand is worth the price I think.

Mr. Mime is needed. It really helps so that you can see the opponents hand. In response to the thread title, there is no such thing as a speed lostgar. There is mewgar however. In lostgar/mewgar decks, good techs are spiritomb, mr. mime, mime jr., slowking, and ditto tm. I don't really see the point of smeagle tbh. I've found that the {P} become pretty valuable mid-late game

The point of smeargle is to use 2 supporters per turn plus look at your opponents hand. Pretty easy.

Pretty easy but not pretty good. Mr. Mime looks at your opponents hand as well, but it doesn't need to be active. Once you get mid/late game, those {P} are going to be pretty valuable. 3 Smeargle? Even 1 is too much

Mr. Mime is optional. I don't run one in my Lostgar build and I do just fine. For me, I need all the bench space I can get, and Mr. Mime just gets in the way.
I'd rather run something a bit more dependable like Slowking. (Although, in regards to Speed Lostgar, Slowking doesn't really fit the bill, does it?)

I'd say Mr. Mime over Slowking in Speed Lostgar.

However, I don't really understand what the purpose is for Ditto TM- bench space is tight as it is; if you play it when your opponent has a Baby in play it just makes it one less chance to get a LZ'd 'Mon that way. And otherwise, I don't see that it helps enough to make it worth a spot.

Smeargle is a no-no. I just don't like that list on the last page in general; some of the lines are really messed up (4 draw/refresh Supporters and 2 Collector, as well as no Judge?)

What do you suggest on the T/S/S lines then?

Pokemon (14):

4x Gastly
3x Haunter
4x Gengar Prime
1x Spiritomb
2x Mr. Mime
1x Mime Jr

T/S/S (35):

4x Pokémon Collector
2x Dual Ball
2x Pokegear 3.0
1x Switch
2x Junk Arm
3x Seeker
2x Super Scoop Up
4x Judge
3x Sage's Training
2x PONT
4x Twins
3x Rare Candy
2x Lost World

Energy (11):

9x Psychic Energy
2x Rescue Energy

Just off the top of my head. Maybe a little different on the draw/refresh lines, but that looks fairly solid to me.
Of course, it would be a bit different with Mew. I think Weavile could also be an interesting tech here as well; it could go well with the whole disruption idea (Weavile+Judge? Yes, please).

The reasom Mr. Mime is optional is because once you get an idea of your opponents hand, you really don't need him, unless your opponent uses a Juniper/PONT. Ditto TM is useful because it limits the Bench space your opponent has so it makes them hold onto one more Pokemon for you to LZ. And it throws a wrench into ZPST early game.

In my testing of the list I posted, smeargle is nice, but it does "backfire" that's for sure. Portriated for a juniper (ouch!)
Once I couldn't see the opponents hand and hurled with 3 on gengar, got nothing. So with tha said, mime is a nice addition. So willing to try deck post #2 by Scizorliscious.

venasour x, isn't ditto just another prize for catcher/yanmega? Nice pokebody and it would activate twins, but this deck is already behind the "eight ball" anyway.

Well, I suggested running Ditto because I run a Vileplume build, I forgot that you run speed. Yea, don't run Ditto without Vileplume.

Idk what you guys are thinking but Mr.Mime is a staple. You do not just get an idea of the opponents hand, you see every turn if there is any pokemon to hurl. it takes guessing and luck otherwise. For the Ditto it is not really worth it, the space is better used on techs or setting up other mew's and gengars. Because not using switches because of the free retreat, Having a ditto catchered would be a dead active. Same thing with Smergal. Even with vileplume, ditto just takes up even more bench.
