I really hope this is real just so I can main in Duck Hunt dog

Why? Brawl was the only one to have three starters in the form of Pokémon Trainer. There is no need to make that a trend in future games. Pokémon already has a lot of reps (they even have more "reps" in the form of Poké Balls!) and will probably have more (including Poké Balls!) as the series progresses. It doesn't really seem fair for there to be so many Pokémon while other series, with plenty of characters to choose from, are being left out and even having characters cut like Star Fox and Earthbound. Besides, the only other grass starter that would make sense would be Sceptile. I was actually surprised how Ivysaur was handled so I'm sure it would be kind of a challenge so use the other quadruped grass starters without copying moves from Ivysaur. I'm not saying it's impossible, or more Pokémon reps would suck, I'm just saying, it really is not necessary and kinda unfair.
Blob55 said:Well it's also unfair that Mario, Zelda and for some reason Fire Emblem have the same amount of/more characters than in Brawl.
Mario has 9 representatives (10 if you count Donkey Kong), Zelda has 5 and FE has double of what they got last time, with 4. Do you really think it's such a stretch for Pokémon to have 6 characters, yet Mario is allowed to have 9/10? I get what you're saying about EB and SF having less characters until DLC comes out, but do we really need the Wii Fit Trainer, Dr. Mario and the Miis?
The Blonde guy is Shulk, the main protagonist from Xenoblade Chronicles. Chorus Men are characters from a mini-game in Rhythm Heaven.Blob55 said:BTW, who is that Blonde guy next to Pac-Man and who/what is Chorus Men?
Oh. That's what that game is. I thought Rhythm Heaven was some Dreamcast game for whatever reason.Momaster12 said:Blob55 said:Well it's also unfair that Mario, Zelda and for some reason Fire Emblem have the same amount of/more characters than in Brawl.

So why should Pokémon have more reps then? How would it be justified with all that you said? If there seems to be a problem with the amount of reps a series has and does not have, why should Pokémon be added to the problem? I think a good max for a series should be 5-6 reps. Which I think most would agree is reasonable. A few protagonists, a few antagonists, (or all protagonists even) and a series should be properly represented in the series. Now the Mario series does have a good amount of reps, but is that really a surprise? There are a lot of iconic characters from that series and I believe one way or another, those iconic characters would be added. It would be strange that Nintendo's biggest franchise only had Mario and Luigi. I'm not saying 9 reps for a series is necessarily a good thing, but I think Mario has a good argument for that. Another thing, having another rep for Pokémon would be fine, just as long as no more than 5 or 6 are present. The future would only bring more and more viable characters to the series and therefore possible reps for Smash. Then reps from previous Smash games would have to come back, fans would get butthurt that their favorite character hasn't returned so that character may be brought back, next thing you know Pokénon has 9 reps. Also, if there were to be another Pokémon rep, I don't think many of the other grass starters would be more fitting than other Pokémon, like fricken Mewtwo. And one last thing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with WFT and Miis. They are new characters to add more diversity to the selection. Dr. Mario on the other hand shoulda been an alt.
