Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U

Including Rocket Lloid, thrown items, and I've even seen Mega Man's little pellet things get picked up.
He can also pocket the tree he creates right before it falls, as well as the bowling ball, and he can cancel Link's final smash by pocketing. He doesn't actually pocket it, but it gives him a few invincibility frames which renders it null.

Guys, I know you're exciting about certain characters, but be sure to add at least some content to your posts. I'm seeing far too many "oh this looks fun" or "this character is good" posts. Elaborate!

About the only character we all care about:
Jigglypuff seems to be buffed in general. Rest kills at lower percentages than Brawl, but is still nowhere near its Melee strength. The hitbox seems bigger, though, so there might be quite a few ways of comboing into it. Her back-air has a ton of knockback, and seems like it would be her primary killing move. I haven't seen anyone use it to carry another character off-stage, and I don't know if it has a sourspot. Her fair might suffice, but not being able to carry would be a pretty big loss. Sing is still useless, Rollout is still useless, and the custom moves do little to help, it seems. Her up-tilt seems pretty fast, but I haven't seen any analysis of its hitbox yet. Other than that she seems largely unchanged, with minor buffs to damage for a lot of her aerials.
The Brawl engine really hurt Jigglypuff, and Smash 4 seems to have toned back some of the changes. Even just the increased hitstun can only be a good thing for the Puff, so I'm confident she won't be anywhere near as horrible as she was in Brawl. So good news, I'd say.

Also, uair to Rest might be a thing again. :D

It really bothers me that Dark Pit is a separate character. I wouldn't be as upset if Dark Pit was actually unique, but instead he's just a slightly slower Pit with a reskinned Zelda/Shiek Final Smash. Sakurai could've just made him an alt like he did with Alph or the Koopalings, but instead we got another clone.

Dark Pit is designed to play like Brawl's Pit, since Pit was given a slightly mixed up moveset. Like Doctor Mario, he's simply there to give players of the previous games something familiar to play with.

And I don't really undestand why you would get upset over a character being included in the game. I can understand being upset that certain characters were left out (like Ice Climbers or Mewtwo), but inclusions don't make sense to me.

But that's just my opinion.

Hey, when you guys mention characters not revealed on the US site yet, can you put them in spoilers? My cousin saw this thread earlier and got pretty upset since these last few pages basically just told him everyone in the game. Remember, there's stil la lot of people waiting for the US release to find out on their own. The same counts for characters not in that people wanted in.

I was watching Justin Flynn's twitch smash stream and a shiny Swirlix popped out of a pokeball!! The entire time it was out, it had some little sparkles. It looks like, just like in pokemon, they're rare and the differences are only cosmetic. But its nice to see they're in! Now if only we could just get a shiny Lucario for once...

I am sorry to ask this, not saying I don't believe you or anything, but do you have any proof of this? I asked the chat on his channel if he found a shiny from a pokeball, and they said no. Honestly, I always wanted shiny pokemon to be from pokeballs, I really hope you are right, shiny kyurem would be too dang awesome.

It just seems like really blatant favoritism over his own characters. Why did Kid Icarus, a franchise that hadn't seen a new game in 25 years, get 2 new reps while popular franchises like Zelda, Donkey Kong or Metroid get none? I loved Uprising, but this is just ridiculous.

I still really like the roster, though, those issues aside.

Also, you should spoiler your post. Some people are still waiting for the US version to see the roster.

They wouldn't have since more people focused on the fight rather than the brown swirlix by the corner of the screen yesterday. But I tried to take a print screen but then I accidentally copied a URL right after =.=

Guys PMJ said the other day the last 4 characters can't be obtained without linking to the Wii U version and that will be out later on this year. Even though things are leaking they can't post until both games are out XD.:)

I don't understand what you mean. Even though things are leaking, they can't post until both games are out? I don't get it... Also, call me stupid but who's PMJ?

PMJ is a member here, and this is the post he's referring to:

So I've read word that the reason the roster looks incomplete is because right now it is. The remaining characters require linking up with the Wii U version to unlock, and the characters we have now is all we're going to get until the Wii U version comes out. Then the characters will be unlocked on both versions and the roster will be truly complete.

Not sure if it's a rumour or something officially declared (leaning towards the former), though it would make sense, in the meaning that it would an incentive for people to buy both versions of the game.

It's just a rumor. There is literally no official information (leaked or otherwise) that suggests that there even are missing characters. We won't know for a while, possibly until a couple of weeks from the Wii U release. It's just a way of explaining the seemingly wanting roster space.

Is it known which characters are missing if it isn't a rumour? I read the full roster has been leaked, so has that been compared to the currently available ones in the demo?

It's also possible they don't release all characters on the demo so people will still want to buy the full version once it's out. Isn't that what they normally do? It makes more sense to me than asking people to spend so much more money to complete the roster (more for people that don't have the Wii U yet).

I'm really hoping future waves of amiibo toys are a bit more unique; the first wave of amiibo characters are rehashes of pre-existing characters. Using amiibo and software patching would let Nintendo bring in all sorts of new characters without them being leaked before the game even comes out.
(If this idea has been stated already I'm sorry but I've only read like 4 pages of this 71-page thread ssshhh)

I'm pretty sure the time for caring about leaks is pretty much past for this game with pretty much the entire roster that came out before the game even officially came out in Japan (and even the rumored characters for DLC as well). If they really cared that much about it, it would had have a worldwide release on the same day.

dmaster out.

Well, Sakurai did say the reason subspace is cut for smash 4 is because of the leaks from
Brawl, so I am sure they are at least considering someone may leak it and not throw possibilty out the window. I am so glad
Dr. Mario, Duck hunt and Ness are in the game. I cannot wait to see Duck hunts HD model! Pretty mad they have no pokemon stadium stage nor Temple in the 3ds version. Did they confirm either for the wii U version?

How can a toy of Mario be considered a "rehash" of Mario??

By making it be Mario in Super Smash Bros when you scan it on your console.

Amiibo could be used to introduce completely new characters, but they're just different versions of pre-existing characters at the moment. For example, a future Mewtwo amiibo could bring in a Mewtwo fighter. Wouldn't that be awesome?

I still can't see the roster complete just of yet. If the Wii U version is not out yet we may not know until that version comes out.:)
