Supreme Victors, worth it at all at this point?

I think I'm going to take a break from exclusively purchasing Platinum boosters, I don't have much from Rising Rivals and there's still stuff I want in Arceus.

Is Supreme Victors worth it at all, booster-wise? I really prefer buying boosters to single cards, but I'm pretty sure the only good pull I've ever had from SV was Electivire Lv X. Absol G is pretty cool too, though I have yet to use it.
 
Um, save your money for HGSS, after all, these older sets are going out of business soon, if you catch my drift.

I'd like to think that all the Platinum sets are safe until we get a couple more HGSS sets. I can't imagine modified just being HGSS and promos.
 
SV was a bad set. It has some tech stuff though such as Garchomp C Lv. X, but you can get that in a tin. Then there's Palmer, and Cyrus Init. which are both useful. Also Cynthia's Guide. is pretty good. But you could probably get those from trades. Not worth buying packs though.
 
Yes the only time SV was actually worth buying was because it was the new set. Now it's rather worthless...
 
Pro tip: just buy the packs with Garchomp on them. I get a Lv. X in almost every other pack. I've actually pulled more Lv. X cards than Holo Rares from SV doing this.

Me too! Pulled 3 Lv.X's and 2 Holo's (1 of them being a RH) out of 9 packs.
 
Garchomp C X is pretty big, Absol G X has potential but is not too great, other than those the set is quite lame.Some trainers are good, but it's not worth getting a box of.
 
Playing wise: SV is a bad set. You can easily get the likes of Garchomp C LV X from the tins and some of the trainers through trades. Go for either the Arceus set or HGSS...

Collection wise: Maybe good, mainly because of the Secret Rares and Shinies...
 
Why waste money on garbage. I can count all the good cards in SV on one hand (maybe 2) and that is out of over 150 cards.

Definatly wait untill HGSS the set as a whole is 9000% better.
 
If Absol is worth mentioning then what about Blaziken FB?

True- um guys it was third or fourth most in terms of cities wins....
Blaze FB X and Blaze FB are good but not so sure how good when states rolls along, here's the good cards in SV

I say don't buy SV because if you want good cards from it, you can get them without buying a booster box.
 
Supreme Victor was a worthless set, I can't name more then one playable card out of it, Blaziken FB lv X, anyway RR is the way to go if you don't have much out of it, Luxray X Flygon X Etc also HGSS

are pretty much the only cards worth getting packs for - but everything is easy to get hold of perhaps bar the Blaziken line, I don't think the Absol is really worth using in real competitive games despite having some potential. I mean, I've hardly bought any boosters from Supreme Victors, but I still have every card listed here bar Absol and Blaziken FB.

I'd also like to think that Exploud and the regular Garchomp from that set are good, but again, like with Absol, there are better competitive options.

Rising Rivals is by far the best set from Platinum.. Arceus has a few good things but after buying a lot of those over the last few months (and completing the set bar about five cards) and seeing my collection, I sort of wish I'd have bought more Rising Rivals than Arceus.

HeartGold & SoulSilver looks promising - so I'd suggest saving money for that, or if you want to start getting more cards now, get Rising Rivals boosters.
 
You really think Rising Rivals is the best in PL? I really really like Platinum. I think Rising Rivals is really close if not on par with Platinum, but seriously so much stuff to work with in base PL.
 
RR is the best, you want expensive over priced cards?
Really let's compare
Luxray GL LV.X-30-40 dollars(based on ebay)
Flygon LV.X-30-45 dollars(based on ebay)
Dialga G LV.X-15-25(if you're lucky)
Palkia G LV.X-8-20(yes I've seen several go for 8)
Top decks right now-
Flygon
and
Luxray are dominating the format, yes you do need PL to build those decks but RR is SO much better...
 
Supreme Victors is worth it if you like Garchomp C/Blaziken FB/Absol/Staraptor, or want to pull some level Xs easily. Otherwise, not much worth it in the set.

As for the rivalry between RR and PT, its balanced. PT is fantastic for its uber trainers(lookers, SP engine, memory berry), while RR is known for its-uber pokemon(Luxray, Flygon, Nidoqueen, Beedrill). So if you want to get some good trainers for bait, buy PT. If you want to get some great pokemon to build with, get RR.
 
You want Garchomp C LV.X? Just get the tin. SV is terrible, unless you're looking for Blaziken FB. That's it. Even so, I'd still try trading for it.
