Well, they need to fix the eye damage problem because of the possibility of being sued, and the 3D problems are a must, since, it's kind of important to the system since it's main purpose is to be in 3D.
This also brings up the point on how Nintendo is once again going for a first in gaming. First game system with touch screen, first successful motion system, and now, first 3D system, and first system to do this without glasses. This will be interesting, as Nintendo pulls of the unthinkable

The whole 3D thing without glasses could be monumentally groundbreaking if it's successful. We could see the future of 3D TV without the need of sometimes clunky glasses.

At E3, it was proved to be successful, but since they were all demos, they were held still for you, so nobody knew that it HAD to stay still to work. I'm almost wondering if they made them on demo stands for the purpose of nobody knowing it needed to stay still, so Nintendo could try to fix it

Their is a specific button to turn off the 3D effects on the 3DS, so you can play games without 3D, or play your old DS games, I find it very convinient

That button is probably their way of avoiding being sued. If your afraid about hurting your eyes, then use little to no 3D. What they've been showing on the demos is without the 3D, because they couldn't show it on camera. I still think the system graphics look amazing without the 3D, so it tells me 2 things:
1, I probably won`t use the 3D.
2, if I do use it, it should look great.

I think the 3-D stuff isn't that harmful to your eye unless you sit on your ds for like 8 hours a day. Just to be safe I would play mostly on 2-D but use 3-D whenever I felt like it.

$250 is quite the wad of cash. I'm not sure if I'll buy it right away, I'll wait to see what people say about it. Also, if a Pokemon/Mario/Zelda themed one comes out, and I've already bought mine, I won't be a happy camper (well, I'll be extremely happy I even got one).
Jirachi said we can discuss non-Nintendo exclusives too, so has anybody played Okami? One of the best games EVER (imo), and a new one is coming out for the DS, Okamiden. Can't wait.

Non-Nintendo Exclusive games are allowed, as long as they are popular, which means yes, Okami is allowed, Sonic, ect, as long as they were for a Nintendo system at some point.

The 3DS... I don't know, it doesn't blow me away as much as it should. The $250 price tag doesn't help either. Is Black and White going to be able to be played on the DS? If so, I don't think I'll get the 3DS.

The 3DS IS backwards compatible, so it can play ALL DS games. Black/White will be able to be played on ANY DS system.
And also, the price hasn't been released yet for the U.S., so I hope people don't believe that it really is $250 until it's confirmed lol.
I've played (and beaten) Metroid: Other M. I think it's a great action game despite some major Metroid game flaws (I would consider them flaws compared to past Metroid games). But it's still fun regardless. And there's no way I'm beating it again with only one Energy Tank lol. That's just torture.

I've played (and beaten) Metroid: Other M. I think it's a great action game despite some major Metroid game flaws (I would consider them flaws compared to past Metroid games). But it's still fun regardless. And there's no way I'm beating it again with only one Energy Tank lol. That's just torture.

For Metroid Other M, I haven't played, but Meaty did, and he showed me the cut scenes for it, I say it's ok, but not being so familiar with Metroid as much as Meaty, he would have a better opinion than me...
I honestly don't believe the 3DS will be $250, possibly the next home system might be(or more) but not portable systems

I pre-ordered it and got it launch day, naturally. The art folio pre-order nonus from Gamestop is pretty cool I guess.... As for the game, I agree with dmaster. It's a fun and challenging-enough action game, but frankly a dissapointment to the series... Metroid should be amazing, not good. I didn't mind the idea of it being more story-oriented with more cutscenes but Sakamoto took it too far with Samus's emotions. Not to mention that the events in teh Metroid Prime trilogy should be acknowledged more, since that seems like a big part of Samus's life. I guess it wouldn't affect this game's story that much, and at least there were some gameplay nods like first-person mode, charging and using 5 missiles to fire a super missile, and the seeker missiles, but she does seem to ignore those events a bit too much...
I miss Admiral Dane... ;(
