So, the question is, is an extra $80 worth it to becoming a Nintendo Ambassador?

No, and I'll tell you why. First off, if we're getting 80 dollars worth of video games free, how do you know you haven't already played some of them? Thus subtracting the value of being a Nintendo Ambassador.

The second reason is because for the holidays there will be a bundle with a free game and new design, like I said earlier. It's all just a catch so that you buy the 3DS for 250, only to want to buy the new design for 170. Nintendo is really good at all of this. You're the ultimate Spirit Tracks fan? You have that crummy old DS Lite? You should get the Zelda DS Lite. You have that old, bent up Spirit Tracks guide? You need the collector's hard cover edition.

I already spent the $250 for a 3DS. Buy I do agree. Companies like Nintendo and Apple are good at making you feel REALLY stupid for buying your system.
Examples: "I finally saved up for an iPad! What, iPad 2, it's thinner, lighter, and has cameras... -_-"
On a side note, I AM glad I get all this free stuff for the 3DS(Ice Climbers, OMG) so it all works out. It all depends on whether you want the free games that come with it or not. And if you think those "free" games are worth an extra $80

Oops I didn't check. Well that saves me money.

Yeah but it makes it a lot worse of a game than you might have expected.

You get 10 free ambassador titles. If you value each of them at $8 or more, then its worth it to get the system now.

But there are also the GBA titles to throw in as well. I'd say that if you have a decent way of making money (like robbing a bank a job), its probably a wise decision to get it now, as you'll make up the $80 in no time.

Like I already said, it averages to $4 a game that you get. That's a pretty good deal for some of these, especially because right now there are _no_ plans for anybody else to get those GBA ones. I'd say it's obviously worth it if you've already bought the 3DS, but if this is making you think about buying it, you'd have to reevaluate how much you want exclusive games.

dmaster out.

Yeah I already have it and I'm glad I do. I value 10 free nes and 10 free GBA games to be worth 80 dollars as they are some good games like metroid fusion, ice climbers, and such.

The GBA games are even exclusive to those who bought the system before the price drop. :D SO AWESOME.

BTW it's nice to see so many of the groups I'm part of re-opened.

I don't have a 3DS yet but I'll probably get it when it's cheaper since I already own some of the good VC games that interest me (Metroid Fusion, Mario Kart Super Circuit, SMB3, Legend of Zelda, and maybe some others.)

Well, it would also depend on any future awards Nintendo might throw out for ambassadors. Companies like Nintendo are also stupidly known for rather rash freebies in some their rewards programs. I don't value the free games that much, I just want to avoid the risk of having Nintendo giving some kind of freaking awesome reward later on and missing out...

I'm getting the 3DS for Luigi's Mansion 2, OOT, and Animal crossing. Speaking of which, does anyone out there play Animal Crossing?

I don't play it oddly, but I plan to get it for the 3DS, as I've always watched my friends play it, and it looks really addicting

I play Animal Crossing. City Folk was my first and only game, but I used to play it quite frequently. I look forward to the new 3DS title!

It is time to get a GOOD home console Kirby game. I thought Kirby Epic Yarn would be interesting(being really big Kirby fan), got it, and was disappointed, so I'm exited for the next one.
Out of curiosity, do you mean good as in good one on Wii, or good one on home consoles in general?

So, the question is, is an extra $80 worth it to becoming a Nintendo Ambassador?

Absolutely. Forgetting the free games for a moment, just think. Nintendo Ambassador. How awesome would it be to be called one? I mean, Nintendo Sales Ambassadors are way more important, but still. Nintendo Ambassador.

Doesn't the Ambassador thing happen within a few days?

How does it work again?

Yes, I'm pretty sure the 12th (as in, 23:59:59 on the 11th) is the limit, though it may run throughout the twelfth.

Anyway, the bottom line is, pay $80 extra over the new price ($170), get 20 games free. If you're only counting the 5 currently announced GBA games alone, there is a ~$45 value, if you try to pick them up from Amazon. But of course, you're getting 15 other games.

Anyway, now is the time to act. Walmart is selling them for the new price now. We get to have our cake, and eat it, too. The early adopters may feel a little bad, but alas, this is not Nintendo's doing, it is Walmart's.
