More texture than the Alph cards could ever have dreamed of. The foil is embossed, so every section has a different pattern and texture. They are simply stunning :)

Viper.fox: .....I want your Umbreon * (JPN)... *Drools all over Keyboard*
Seriously, HOW did you get it? That card is worth a TON!

Also, where did you get that box of B/W collection?

I'll post a few picks of my current collection stuff tomorrow.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

You can get both the Black and the White collection on eBay. I saw both boxes going for about $100. I was thinking about buying it, but I'm $25 short anyway. Besides, I really would rather have a Neo Destiny box. I might take a picture of my collection if I figure out how to upload it.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

I finally got these 2 cards sent through the mail today 8D

@PikachewTofu
That's such a rip off for the boxes though. I paid about $120AUD by the time I had shipping applied to my /four/ boxes. Because the packs only have five cards per pack, the boxes as a whole are cheaper compared to previous sets.

@shadoworganoid
Patience and luck. It helped that it was a private sale, therefore I was able to do a payment plan for the pair. They set me back $850USD for both. Umbreon seems to like going for over $1k on more expensive eBay auctions, but I saw one around a month and a half ago sell for only $350USD.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

viper.fox,

$100 for both BW boxes shipped to USA is the best price I have seen. Where did you get yours?
Someone on eBay is asking $87 per box shipped.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

Just wait until May for the TCG Release.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

arapokemaster: But the thing is, having the Japanese versions of some cards is just too cool to pass up.

Viper.Fox: And you actually had that much money to spend on it!? Lucky.
How much is the ENG Umbreon and Espeon * worth?

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

So? Mind you this thread is all about "COLLECTION". Those would obviously go into our collection binders. lol

From an online supplier called AmiAmi. eBay isn't the end all for JP cards, thankfully. Another good and viable option is to use a middleman and purchase direct from Amazon.co.jp, Bigweb, Cereza, or other major JP online stores. The middleman fee for those services are honestly cheaper than the middleman fee you'll get from most eBay sellers.

The standard retail price for these boxes is 3,000円 (about $37USD.) I scored mine on sale for 2,671円x4 + EMS Shipping to Australia. I used to be sucked into the buying on eBay only thing, but having done some research, I've found a number of places that are out there selling the boxes for a much more wallet-friendly price.

@shadoworganoid
I work, and collecting is my major hobby, so any spending money I have that doesn't go to food/bills etc goes towards cards in my budgeting. The thing that helped was the payment plan, since I paid it off over two months, not all in one hit.

Honestly, I'm not too sure on the values on the english versions, but I'm sure someone in the pricing topic could help you there a lot better than I. They seem to vary quite a bit on the market from what I've seen. It's mainly because they're an 'eeveelution' and thus are in high demand for collectors who like them.

Have an old photo from when I got a huge auction load of cards through (read: 20,000 cards to sort, 200 holos alone, around 42kg in weight shipped over four boxes.) I had a plethora of Shining Mew to play with before I sold them all.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

@konter_j8902
Paypal, Credit Card, etc are all taken. I've personally just used Paypal for the protection it offers.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

I don't have access to any of that sadly. Do you know if any of those sites take money orders?

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

Given they're international orders, I highly doubt it.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

viper.fox: That's an awesome picture o_O May i ask where you got those shiny mews from? I'm interested in collecting japanese cards lately.

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

^Those are the CoroCoro one's (high on anyone's Mew list (even mine)).

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

@viper.fox
Thank you, I am going to give them a try.

@konter_j8902
Maybe we could piggyback our orders?

RE: Collector's Showcase - Please try to post a picture!

Light venusaur: I checked on ebay just now and i saw 2 sellers selling them for around £51...are they really worth that much? I got 2 Japanese lottery cards a few days ago (i have an image of them on the last page), apparently they sell for £70 each and i got them for £20 each o.o
