Um... This movie is vastly superior to Iron Man, and the Hulk was terrible. Simply put: Iron Man raised the bar for Comic Book movies. The Dark Knight raised the bar for modern movies.
I need to agree. However, all the movies after comics so far were fail. The problem is that all they want is money (no way) and they don't make a good movie with deep story and that kind of stuff. They make a movie full of action and graphic effects and they got the recepie for a movie all kids will want to watch. That's enough money as we saw with Spider man (records it broke).
I would consider that the main problem of movies after comics. There is a huge list of fails (
Spider man,
Hulk,
The Man Thing,
Ghost Rider, most of the
Batmans --- not to mention half =/) and a very small one of good (
The Punisher (most of the people don't like it (according to imdb score), but I think that's the kids who watched it, cause it's a really brootal movie),
Batman Begins (how did you not like it? It's the first comic movie with deeper story and a bit less action. Right, you probably want more action - in that case I believe you really like all the movies I consider as fail - to akatsuki9) and
Hellboy (however, I'm not too sure if it's even after comic =/)).
With Batman Begins Nolan showed us a movie after comic can have deeper story. That's what world was waiting for (a bit overreacting
). That didn't stop Marvel from making more fails, but it did make them try at least making a good movie (Iron Man - it can be considered good).
With TDK it "raised the bar for modern movies". It's biggest hit all over the
world, not to mention it's on the
very top of the
imdb. Hell, yes, with 9.5 it overscored Godfather - previous winner.
Worth watching if you're getting sick of dumb super hero movies. I literally love the way they made Joker (not visually as he's supposed to be smiling all the time, but he isn't). He's a REAL psycho. He doesn't kill for money, he kills for fun. I've been fan of Joker for years and he is like that in comics =)
BTW: Heath Ledger was the best actor ... I've (ever) seen. As the Joker.
RIP =(
