ah. I'm used to hearing NPC's. Since this is more of a survival horror scenario none of the Main survivors will be NPC's (unless there's barely any interest, trying to get 4 minimum humans 16 max). Although each mission/campaign will have some npc's, like the survivors hear a call on the radio about a group of survivors holding up in building X, and they have to try and get to building X since they think they'll be safe as well. Or the start of a mission may involve them meeting up with an NPC who accompanies them, and they may last up til point X where the team will find out he's infected and have to kill him or he'll be surrounded by zombies and killed. Activity and inter-character relations will be important, as when they're not running and gunning during the "day" or Active phase, they'll find Temporary solace, like a large fortified room where they can spend the night/a few days to chill/recover if they are hurt but they can't get food so they can't stay forever. (Also because if too many zombies swarm the door would collapse anyway).
