The Humble Card Game Bundle (bonuses) + Archie Comics Bundle (bonuses) + Weekly Bundle: Made in Spai

RE: The Humble Double Fine Bundle

I feel like I should buy it just to try Costume Quest... Though I don't even know what the game looks or plays like, just that people liked it quite a bit.

...After typing that out, I don't think it'd be a good idea. I haven't even booted up Psychonauts since I got it last year (though our computer couldn't run it for a few months).

Uh, ooh, yeah, forgot about this:

I think this was Humbly Endorsed, since it went up so quickly and Humble tweeted it out. Gives a pretty good look at the three four games.

This also sums up why you should buy it.

RE: The Humble Weekly Sale, featuring... Alan Wake?

Two quick things before I get to the sale:

1) Bitcoin is now a payment option, so yay.
2) The Double Fine bundle did have bonuses, and it was basically the Amnesia Fortnight bundle-thing that happened last year; 8 or so prototypes of games made by Double Fine employees, and a documentary by 2 Player Productions. It was nice, but at the time I didn't think it could sway anyone to buy the bundle. Thinking about it, if you were a big Double Fine fan and had skipped the bundle because you had owned everything in it, that might have been valuable. Sorry.

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

The Alan Wake franchise!?

Yes, the Weekly Sales are back, and they're STILL breaking patterns. Here's what's included:

  • Alan Wake: Collector's Edition
  • Alan Wake's American Nightmare
  • "Boatloads" of Alan Wakey bonuses
Games are Windows-only, available DRM-free and on Steam. Soundtracks are included. The Alan Wake Franchise package on Steam normally goes for $40.

This sale ends on Wednesday, May 29th, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Some notes:

  • Unlike previous Weekly Sales, just going to humblebundle.com does not default to the Weekly Sales page. You start on the bundle page, and have to use the tab at the top to switch.
  • Yeah, more Triple A stuff on Humble Bundle. Crazy, since unlike THQ, Remedy is actively developing a new, big game.
  • No, I didn't miss anything: There is no BTA. This hasn't happened on Humble Bundle in a long time (like, since HIB1, not counting the Mojams or Amnesia Fortnight). They could have easily put American Nightmare and the bonus content behind a BTA wall, but no. That makes this an incredible value if you're really cheap, but I'd say it's backfiring for them a bit: The average is a mere $2.10.

RE: The Humble Indie Bundle 8!

EDIT: Ninja'd. D:

The Alan Wake sale isn't even over and we already have a slick new bundle. It's going to be a good summer:

The Humble Indie Bundle 8

Yup, Indie is back! Lots of stuff this time:

  • Little Inferno (normally $10)
  • Awesomenauts (normally $10, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
    • None of the DLC is included, but there is an exclusive chicken skin in the bundle.
  • Capsized (normally $10, demo on Steam, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Thomas Was Alone (normally $10, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit
  • Dear Esther (normally $10, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)

And for beating average, resting comfortably at $5.59:

  • Hotline Miami (normally $10, soundtrack not included, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Proteus (normally $10)

And yeah, that's about it. Not much else to say. Seems this bundle is a little more "artsy", what with the experiences that are Dear Esther and Proteus, the story-focused stuff of Little Inferno and Thomas Was Alone, and the stylized visuals of Hotline Miami.

What will I do: I already own Hotline Miami, and Proteus isn't really something I'd pay for, so I'm probably going under the average. Including Hotline Miami's soundtrack would certainly change things, but yeah.

RE: The Humble Indie Bundle 8!

I didn't mean to ninja. I saw the title and just clicked reply. I'm sorry! D:

Now to wait 'til this is over and give away my unneeded copy of Awesomenauts. Until then, I will advertise this everywhere. And play Thomas Was Alone. Because I was about to buy that last night, lolz.

Edit: "Steam will not provide extra giftable copies of games you already own." Awww...

Since all the given Steam keys are individual, you could technically give your Awesomenauts key away, though that does go against what Humble says in their support area:

http://support.humblebundle.com/customer/portal/articles/243192-if-i-already-have-a-game-s-in-the-bundle-do-i-have-the-ability-to-gift-the-extra-copy-in-the-bundle-

Humble Support said:

Unfortunately, if you already have a game in the bundle you will not be able to gift the extra games to a friend.

Please consider your bundle a "unit", and not to share copies of the games or Steam keys from it.

If you'd like to give a copy of the games away, we have a system in place that allows you to buy a gift key from www.humblebundle.com so your friends can have access to direct downloads as well as any Steam or other keys we have included.

I don't really like to skirt around the system Humble has with their bundles, so I wasn't going to post that, but a tweet just came in from @humblesupport:

The gift option is if you want to gift the entire bundle. If you only want to gift some of the games, just purchase as usual.

So, yeah. People have been giving away their excess keys for a while, but I've never seen a comment like that from Humble. Changes a lot, heh.

RE: The Humble Indie Bundle 8 + TellTale Games Weekly Sale!

The Alan Wake sale ended yesterday, and in its place it brought... whoa.

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

Most of TellTale Games back catalog?!

Man, I don't think there'll ever be a norm with these sales...

  • Back to the Future: The Game (normally $25)
  • Sam & Max: Devil's Playhouse (normally $35 [no, Seasons One and Two aren't included])
  • Poker Night at the Inventory (normally $5, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit Part 1 and Part 2)
  • Hector: Badge of Carnage (normally $20, soundtrack included, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Puzzle Agent (normally $5, soundtrack included)
  • Puzzle Agent 2 (normally $10)
  • Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures (normally $20, Windows-only, might be Steam-only)

And for beating the average, stooping at a pretty great $4.23:

No Linux support, and no soundtracks unless noted otherwise. Most of these are episodic games that were released gradually over a period of months; they are sold normally and here in their full season packs. This sale will end on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013 at 2 P.M. EDT.

Notes:

  • TellTale stuff does doesn't really come cheap, as you can see, so yeah, a sale like this on so many of their games at once is crazy.
  • Indie Royale, another bundle site, got a lot of hoopla for snagging a lot of these games in their bundles; IR headlined no less than 5 of their bundles with the games from this bundle. Coming from someone who bought several of those, I can confidently say I wouldn't have bought them if it weren't for these games. Yeah, Humble's had a history of one-upping IR when they bundled Dungeon Defenders with all its DLC in HIB7, but something on the magnitude of this is just crazy.
  • So yeah, it's that Walking Dead, the one many claimed as GOTY 2012, and I'd be willing to say this is the cheapest it'll ever be, let alone that it's the cheapest it's ever been (it's gone for around $10 before): Being $25 and a TellTale game, it's unlikely to ever have a permanent price drop, so that means there'd be a sale for $6.25 on a good day on Steam (I'd say it's likely to be that during the Summer Sale). Yeah, it might eventually be cheaper overall whenever they decide to combine the various TellTale Walking Deads into one pack (as they did with Sam & Max, which has three games for $50), but that could take years at this point.

What will I do?: Like I said, really great price on The Walking Dead. Definitely doing that, and picking up the various TellTale games I don't have.

RE: The Humble Indie Bundle 8 + TellTale Games Weekly Sale!

Felt like a cheapskate doing it, but I went above the average at $5 to gift said bundle to my brother. He's been interested in the Walking Dead game for a while, but never bought it because of how expensive it tends to be. I'm pretty sure it was more like I bought him Walking Dead rather than a bundle, though, because he doesn't care one bit about the other games. What one of my friends is doing as well, paying just above average to get Walking Dead since it's all they care for. My family/friends aren't very diverse, apparently. :p

I can definitely tell that it's a quality bundle, even though I'm not getting it for myself since no moar moneyz in Paypal at the moment. That and I don't want to build a Steam backlog, lol.

RE: The Humble Indie Bundle 8 + TellTale Games Weekly Sale!

HORAAY FOR THOMAS WAS ALONE!

$3.00 donation because I have hotline miami and I don't really like proteus.

RE: The Humble Indie Bundle 8 + TellTale Games Weekly Sale!

Bonuses! Not a single game from previous Humble bundles:

So yeah, pretty cool. The bundle is set to end on June 11 at 7 P.M. EDT.

Also, NerdCubed did another video:

No, I didn't see what I did there.

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

Most of the Serious Sam franchise!

Pretty straightforward bundle this week, but still pretty nice if you like Serious Sam:

  • Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter (normally $6, Steam-only)
  • Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter (normally $6, Steam-only)
  • Serious Sam: The Random Encounter (normally $5, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Serious Sam Double D (normally $8, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack (normally ~$2, not on Steam, Android version included)
  • Serious Sam Public Test 2 (tech demo, not on Steam)

And for beating the average, steadily climbing from $4.30:

  • Serious Sam 2 (normally $10, Steam-only)
  • Serious Sam 3: BFE Deluxe Edition (normally $50, Steam-only, soundtrack included)
    • Serious Sam 3: BFE (on Windows, Mac, and Linux | WTF is... singleplayer and WTF is... multiplayer by TotalBiscuit)
    • Serious Sam Classic: The First Encounter
    • Serious Sam Classic: The Second Encounter

Games are Windows-only unless noted otherwise. This sale will end on Wednesday, June 12th, 2013 at 2 P.M. EDT.

Notes:

  • There are DLCs for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter and Serious Sam 3, but those are not included. They are 80% off on Amazon right now, though:
    http://www.amazon.com/Serious-Sam-Jewel-Nile-Download/dp/B009RPKNBA
    http://www.amazon.com/Serious-Sam-HD-Second-Encounter/dp/B0081W8SDK
  • There's a complete pack on Steam that's basically this bundle + those DLCs. If you take the DLCs out of the question, you're still looking at something like $90 worth here.
  • Last, the HD versions of First and Second Encounter are basically prettifications of the first couple games in the series. The Classic versions are the games as they were.

What will I do?: Under the average is certainly a go, as I am kinda interested in this series. BTA, eh, not entirely sure yet. Gonna do some research, watch those WTF is'. Might just go for it because it includes the Classic versions, which I should actually be able to run. :S

RE: The Humble Weekly Sale: 11 bit studios

The hubbub of HIB8 and the Serious sale has left, so now we have what one might say is a typical Weekly Sale:

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

Most of the 11 bit studios catalog

  • Anomaly Warzone Earth (normally $10, on Steam, not on Android, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Anomaly Warzone Earth: Mobile Campaign (normally $4?, soundtrack not included)
  • Sleepwalker's Journey (normally $1)
  • Funky Smugglers (normally $1)

And for beating the average, currently looming at $2.91:

  • Anomaly Korea (normally $4)
  • Bonus Content (includes model for printing an Anomaly 2 mech with a 3D printer, and wallpapers that go with each game in the bundle)

Unless noted, all games support Android and don't activate on Steam. The sale will end on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2 P.M. EDT.

What will I do?: I own Anomaly 1 twice over now, and I picked up Anomaly Korea in the Mobile Bundle. I might have gone under the average at that point, but then I found out totally remembered that Funky Smugglers was also in the Mobile Bundle. So I'd be getting the mobile version of Anomaly, the desktop versions of Funky Smugglers, and Sleepwalker's Journey for under the average and the desktop version of Anomaly Korea for beating it. Ehhhh. Yeah, I'm happy enough with what I have, haha.

*NEW* My recommendation: Watch that WTF is, and see what you think. If you like, go under the average, Anomaly is a cool game. I don't know much about Anomaly Korea, but seeing how it's normally $4, it's not the greatest deal ever, unless you think you'd like Anomaly 1 enough to get Korea on PC (I believe this is the PC debut for most of these games).

RE: The Humble Bundle with Android 6! + Weekly Sale: 11 bit studios

You wanted a month break after HIB8? Too bad, you only get a week!

The Humble Bundle with Android 6!

Nice stuff today, including an Android-only game:

  • Aquaria (normally $10, Quick Look by GiantBomb)
  • Fractal (normally $7)
  • Organ Trail: Director's Cut (normally $5, something by Jesse Cox)
  • Stealth Bastard Deluxe (normally $10, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Pulse: Volume One (normally $3, Android-only)

And for beating the average, steadily climbing from $4.68:

  • Frozen Synapse (normally ~$12.50, demo on Steam, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Broken Sword: Director’s Cut (normally $5)

My recommendation: Under the average is totally worth it for Aquaria and Stealth Bastard Deluxe. I wouldn't say Broken Sword alone is worth beating the average, as it and its two sequels often go on sale on Steam for $2, but it's a good value with Android goodness for Frozen Synapse if you don't have it.

What will I do?: Going under the average on this one, Stealth Bastard Deluxe is pretty cool. I own both Frozen Synapse and Broken Sword, so that isn't too great a value for me. Also, I got really excited for a moment when I saw Fractal: I totally thought it was The Polynomial. I mix them up every time!

RE: The Humble Bundle with Android 6! + Weekly Sale: Rochard

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

Rochard

Yep, pretty straightforward sale this week:

  • Rochard (normally $10, demo on Steam, WTF is... by TotalBiscuit)
  • Hard Times DLC (normally $2)
  • Digital Art Book

No BTA stuff this time. This sale will end on Thursday, June 27th, 2013, at 2 P.M. EDT.

What will I do?: I and many others got Rochard in HIB6. I would be buying this for the DLC, but seeing how I can get that for $0.50 on a good day, the sale isn't even worth $1 for me strictly from a value-perspective. But if you don't own Rochard, by all means, watch that WTF is and play the demo, it's a cool game.

Unrelated, I have an update on the Steam sharing situation in the form of a tweet tree:

@humblesupport @GtStarScream This was a few weeks ago: https://t.co/tsPZzw3qbV | Which is it?
@chariblaze Steam keys have always been intended for personal use only, but we have no direct control over this.

RE: The Humble Bundle with Android 6! + Weekly Sale: Rochard

Bonus time. In line with recent bonuses, we have something old, something older, and something new:

The bundle ends on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 2 P.M. EDT.

McPixel, nifty. I was just looking into that a few days ago.

RE: The Humble Bundle with Android 6! + Weekly Sale: Klei Entertainment

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

Klei Entertainment's first three games

Yeah, this and the Rochard sale seem to be setting a pattern of games-that-are-cool-but-were-in-past-bundles. As we'd expect from the weekly sales. Anyway:

No beat-the-average games. The sale ends on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 2 P.M. EDT.

Well Klei certainly likes their demos. I won't be buying this since I own the Shanks, and Eets is one of those 2D physics games. But the Shanks are definitely cool.

Some might exclaim "Where are Mark of the Ninja and Don't Starve?" Well, aside from some possible hangups with Mark of the Ninja's publishing, both are way too new. I'd say you can look forward to Don't Starve in HIB11.

RE: The Humble Weekly Sale: Two Tribes

So the Humble eBook Bundle 2 started yesterday. I'm not posting about here because, well, it doesn't involves games, but mostly because I don't know anything about the books. Seems kinda cool.

This week's Humble Weekly Sale is...

Two Tribes' PC catalog

  • Toki Tori
  • Toki Tori GBC soundtrack
    • This is actually listed under Toki Tori on the sale page, but I feel it deserves its own bullet point. :>
  • EDGE

And for beating the average, currently equalizing at a direct $2.42:

  • RUSH
    • Normally $5
    • Demo on Steam
    • Steam key includes a 10% off Toki Tori 2+ coupon
  • Bonus content

These three games are also bundled on Steam for the regular price of $14. Toki Tori 2+ coupons can't be stacked, but you can trade them away. This sale ends on Thursday, July 11th, 2013 at 2 P.M. EDT.

  • Fairly nice sale. Toki Tori and EDGE were both in Android 1, and EDGE was also in Android 3, and those two are worth it you don't have them. RUSH might be a good buy here, but seeing how you can get it for $1.24 in a good sale, I don't know if I'd go too much over what the average is now.
  • This might be the only Humble sale I'll ever consider going under $1. I own both Toki Tori and EDGE, but that Toki Tori GBC soundtrack is appetizing.
  • This time, I decided to list the stuff I normally put in parentheses. We'll see how that goes.
  • Humble's site got a slight makeover when eBook 2 bundle debuted yesterday. I don't think many of the buttons changed, but the whole color scheme is now white and green instead of black and red. Huh.

RE: The Humble Weekly Sale: Two Tribes

You can buy the Toki Tori soundtrack? Why have I just heard of this?

I'm getting this solely for the music, man. The "Original" Toki Tori tracks are sogood.gif.

I said as I listened to Forest Falls.
