Help The "Is There A Card That Does This?" Thread

Is there a card that lets you flip again for a trainer card? Something like Victini or Coin Trick did for Pokémon attacks? For example: is there a way to 'double flip' for crushing hammer if your first flip was tails?

I am very sorry but through my search with the Pokemon Trading Card Game Database, I couldn't find anything that lets you "double flip" on Trainer cards. I'm not entirely sure about sets before that aren't listed in the Pokémon TCG Database, but for the sets in the Pokémon TCG Database, there is none. I am very sorry.

Thank you, I feared so, it would be too OP for some cards I guess :)

Sorry I looked but only Electrode matches what your looking for. I have found that both Gastly and Froslass have similar effects, except they both rely on actually being knocked out, not just "discarded" like you said. Sorry that there are not that many Pokémon that fit this man! :(

I hope I helped!

Noooo. I was hoping I overlooked something. Apparently Electrode. Ha!

I'll have to find another avenue. Thank you!

Greetings. Are there any pokemon in the current standard format that hit for X amount of cards in your discard pile, similar to Chandelure from Steam Siege? Thanks in advance!

Well, I have a couple of things. Sadly, Vespiquen is the only one I found that hits from your discard pile but you might be aware of Night March, a very good deck in Expanded.

These next three don't do the attack damage from your discard pile, but have similar effects and hit from your opponent's discard. Infernape hits with its Flare Up attack, which only activates if you have 10 [R] (Fire) Energy in your discard pile. Raticate hits for X amount of damage times the number of Special Energy in your opponent's discard pile. Oricorio in SM1 puts damage counters on your opponent's Pokémon equal to the amount of Pokemon in their discard. I'm sorry that there is not very much Pokémon that can hit for X damage from your discard. :( I am sorry if I missed anything for this.

Hope you found this helpful. :)

Ah, the vespiquen might work just fine for my needs. Thank you for all of your findings, and the quick reply!

Hey, guys!

Is there any Mew Ex with the versatile ability that is playable in Standard? I've seen some of them are from Promos, but I totally get lost trying to know which promos are Standard and which Expanded.
If not, is there any card that does something along the lines?

Thank you!

Mew-EX has been reprinted a full art in the Pokémon TCG fortunately! Also, there is Mew from Fates Collide which is very similar yet it has its differences. Both Zoroark BREAK and Clefairy have the attacks necessary to use your opponent's active Pokemon's attacks, which is similar to Mew-EX's Versatile, but uses attacks instead of Abilites.

Hope you found this helpful. :)

Bless you, man! Thanks a lot!
I found out this Mew Ex is the one from the Mew & Mewtwo Super Premium Collection. Guess it'll be a little expensive to get, since the boxes vanished in thin air.
Anyway, thanks for the Zoroark and Clefairy tip, I really liked them too :)

Thanks again!

Here's a list of Pokemon that can do damage to all Bench at one, in Standard, a bit like Nidoking:

Can do damage to each of your opponent's Pokemon:

I could also list all of the Pokemon that can do damage to the Bench, but not all at once, if you'd like.
Trevenant BREAK perhaps?

In the Unlimited Format, what are some of the best ways to accelerate Darkness Energy, ideally on an Ability/PokePower or Trainer? Similar to Bronzong(phf)/Blaziken(rs) and Dark Patch.

Bless you, man! Thanks a lot!

All prints of Mew-EX with Versatile are legal, meaning you can buy the cheap Legendary Treasures one and use that

Looking for cards that help put cards into the bottom of your deck to help get those restored pokemon up easier since old amber and any fossil cards look at the bottom cards to get the pokemon on the bench.

Hi again!

I was wondering if someone could point out any Pokemon cards or Trainer/item cards that allow you to attach energies from your DISCARD pile, back to a pokemon in play? In a similar fashion to the Eelektrik from the Black and White format. Type of energy doesn't matter.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have a fancy list and you're probably aware of this one already, but Shuckle from Fates Collide was presumably built to work with the fossil cards to let you search next turn.

Shuckle - 80hp
{C} Hide a Berry

Draw 2 cards. Then, put a card from your hand on the bottom of your deck.

{C}{C} Wrap - 30
Flip a coin. If heads, your opponent's Active Pokémon is now Paralyzed.

For standard format? The most common one is Mega Turbo, but that only works with Mega Pokemon. Carbink BREAK for Fighting types. Oblivion Wing Yveltal for Dark energy. Lurantis GX from Sun & Moon for Grass Energy.

This one would be rather deck & bench space intensive, but theoretically a combination of Starmie EVO & Magnezone BKT would accomplish this goal with Lightning energy.

There are also Pokemon who bring energies back, but specifically to themselves. I figure that's probably not what you're looking for though, so I'm not going to list them at this point.

That was actually a great bit of help. Thank you!

Is there a card that stops your opponent from putting pokemon onto their bench?

In the standard format, the only thing that comes to mind is Parallel City, which restricts your opponent to 3 bench.

Other than that, there's a Sudowoodo coming out in the next Sun & Moon expansion which reduces your opponent's bench by 1 while it's on your bench (this does NOT stack with Parallel City).

The only other thing I can think of is Fight Alone Lucario. While this doesn't "stop" your opponent from benching Pokemon, it does encourage them not to.

Hope this helps!
