No they haven't. What Pokemon are you thinking of? We're talking about the legenday trio, like: Uxie/Mesprit/Azelf, Raikou/Suicune/Entei.
 
So far we've had birds, dogs, elements?, and spirits what's next I have no freakin idea, though I do like the idea of horses.

Why are people worrying about the trio being non-balanced? The 1st and 2nd were non-balanced too (3rd too? Can't remember what Ice does to ground and steel). The trios aren't made to counter each other. They just contribute to the same myth.
 
It'd be nice to finally get a grass pokemon in the trio, as that has yet to been one of them. I also like what they did with regigigas and the regi trio. It'd be cool to see that again

Legendary Birds, Legendary Beasts, Legendary Golems, Legendary Lake Trio...

I think it's a safe bet, a trio. But yeah, we do need a grass-type in a trio. I don't think there's ever been one. The only grass legendary is Celebi...

At least we have a grass legendary. I don't see a Poison type legend.

Also, as dmaster said, we also have Shaymin.

Ah, Shaymin... He's not a very memorable legendary for me. =P

But yeah... Still, neither of them are in trios... There should be a fire/water/grass trio, where each one is met in a different situation, and which one is in which situation is determined by your starter.

Have we had a water trio member either? I'm not counting the weather trio.

...That'd be the entire point. So that the positions and scenarios of the trio correspond to your starter.

So let's say I pick Tsutaaja. It would either work like this:

First one you meet is water, second one is grass, last one is fire.

OR, if they're like the legendary beasts...

The strongest would be water, the middle would be grass, and the weakest would be fire.

Depending on the starter. I just think it'd be cool.
