As we all know, the chanses of Claydol not being rotated out is 2,000,000 to 1.

So what do you think will be the next big draw engine?
I was trying to type up a deck-list for next season last night and my head started spinning on how I was gunna make it work.

I think it's gunna have to come down to either a 2-2 Dodrio line or a 2-2 Staraptor FB Lv.X Line.

Descuss.

Fix'd.

A 4-4 Dodrio line? I rather have some space in my deck, thank you very much. So I think Staraptor is gonna be huge. Ofcourse, there's also Uxie.

I thought about 4 Uxies, then I thought about what my bench would look like and shivered
I think I'll do AMU or Dusknoir so I have some draw power that insn't wasting space on my field or in my hand/deck.

How about a 3-1 Uxie line? After all, Uxie X stabilizes Uxie-based engines to an extent. Run a couple of Volkner's and you're golden.
But in the end, Claydol will still be better, provided we get one of the two possible options that keep GE in format (opposed to only one option that phases out GE)

We have Uxie, why care about other engines. Dodrio does look like an interesting deck though (4-4 Dodrio + 2-2 Weavile could be funny). But I think people will play Call and an extra starter or TM TS-1 and some Uxies/Azelfs.

I guess you could sqeeze through with Volkner's, Uxie, Call, and possibly Jirachi LA, Jirachi RR, or Areodactyl GL RR.

You're dead on here. Jirachi RR, Aerodactyl, Volkner's, Call, and of course Uxie will make decks pretty dang consistent.

To put it simply, we are keeping Claydol, not because it is needed for the format, but because if we lose GE then the format will become completely unstable. Unown G is actually required to stay in the format, and I have talked with others close enough to POP to know that I am going to be right.

If that isn't enough then I suggest that you look back at DX-On where we should have lost DX but we kept it because Macargo was worth so much to the format.

To summarize, we will keep GE and therefore we should all continue to play Claydol. In the list given above Dodrio is my favorite, mainly due to the consistant draw for SP decks that are used to large hands. Uxie nets less that Dodrio will, and Dodrio is much more productive than Staraptor and I hope that you all realize that a Lv.X draw Engine will fail horribly.

I say either a 3-3 Dodrio, or everyone keeps with Claydol and Uxie as they have before.

Not one with free retreat. With an SP deck, all it takes is a Poke Turn and BAM Staraptor's set up and on your bench. Fog Clear is not too shabby either.

If a deck can successfully retreat or Warp Point, this card will be ridiculously easy to get out and set up.

The only deck I could possibly see Dodrio working in is Flygon X - When Claydol rotates out. If he doesn't, as you say, until the following rotation, I doubt we will see any top table decks using Dodrio - just like we see no top table decks running Amulet Coin. Players are just not that desperate.

DP-On is looking likely. GE most likely won't be rotated out as DOX says. Unown G is necessary for a stable format. Not to mention several PotF cards deliberately combo with GE and before cards (e.g. Lunatone and Solrock).

Our draw supporters are utter crap, and POP knows this. They know that rotating out Claydol is going to make drawing cards very difficult.

If GE is out, we have a legal Porygon-Z lvX AND Porygon-Z promo without a legal line to evolve from.

Y'all forgot Unown R, btw.

I wouldn't call unown R an engine really, it's kind of a one-trick-pony...

staraptor FB lvX seems pretty solid to me if worst comes to worst

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Threads like this make me want to tear my eyes out. Where is your proof we are losing the Claydol. NO ONE (except the people at POP maybe) knows what the next rotation is going to be. Please stop with the scary threads of "OMG what am I going to do I have no draw engine next season". Claydol will continue to be the draw engine next season. If he isn't it will be a 3-1 Uxie or maybe the Staraptor. Not entirely sold on the Dodrio. Who knows maybe everyone will play Snorlax now, because of no draw and the whole season will just be Snorlax mirror matches

What about...
1-1 Staraptor
2-2 Dodrio
2 Uxie?

Only need one Dodrio out, for some consistant extra draws.
staraptor helps with supporters, Uxie is obviously great for setting up.

Personally, I think a lot of people will be running all three.

As i've said before there is evidence over here that they are rotating out claydol, most english suppliers are finding it near impossible to get there hands on any set prior to majestic dawn.

my fave store looks like its already rotated and it isn't by choice, so it looks like POP have already start to phase out set even though there been no announcement yet

So because you can't buy a packet of cards that means that set is going to be rotated. Seriously. You can still buy packs from the ex series in stores. Unless you personally know someone at POP then you just need to be quiet and wait for them to announce it.

Lolthread.

Uxie and Volkners will be a worthy substitute, as shown currently. Dodrio is meh for me. I don't see it popping up that often. Staraptor FB Lv.X on the other hand is one of the best cards we've had in a while.

dmaster out.
