Yes it's an RPG, but it's the best RPG you'll ever lay your gaming hands on! (It's one of my favorite series of all time)

How have you not heard of Final Fantasy?
There have been 13+ games and several spin-off games and series!
Kingdom Hearts is based off of Final Fantasy!
There have been movies!

How have you not heard of Final Fantasy?

My parents really (and I mean really) limit what games I'm allowed to play, even if I buy the game. That's why I haven't heard about Final Fantasy, outside of Mario Hoops.

Seeing as the topic is Final Fantasy, I'm probably not going to be as active, as I know nothing about it.

What games we've played in the past (SNES, NES for example) have shaped the games that we play today (Wii, DS for example)?

Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 hands down.

I have many Final Fantasy games. I love the series as a whole. Final Fantasy IV is one of the best RPGs ever IMO.

I don't think I've ever played a Final Fantasy game all the way through.
They're just too difficult and time consuming.

They can take a long time to complete indeed. I have Final Fantasy III for the SNES and it take many hours just to get to the 2nd half of the game. They are 10 times longer than Pokemon D/P and Platinum Combined.

I don't understand why Captain Rainbow should be our mascot...

I know he's an awesome character in general, but he just doesn't have the same effect as Mario does. Mario is the grandaddy of all gaming. If you want something even older than him, then have Pong as your mascot (lol). But Mario will never get old. Lol, Captain Rainbow, to my understanding, has not even had an AMERICAN video game. I am opposed to this motion 100%. It probably doesn't matter to you what I think, but I must have my opinions heard.

As for the next tournament, I suppose Pokemon is the way to go. This is a POKEMON forum, why not play a game that most people probably have? It may even up the number of members we have. So, I guess that is my vote.

Did you get the DS remake? It's really fun, and has great graphics.
I also have the Final Fantasy with Cloud, (I forget what it's called.) and I'm planning on getting Final Fantasy IV: The After Years.

Mario is the mascot for EVERYTHING Nintendo. He needs a break.
Besides, it's not like we're giving the title to Luigi or *shudder* Birdo.
If you think about it, Cptn. Rainbow is an inspiration.
To go from the nerds we are(not saying everyone is, but c'mon, you're on a pokemon forum) to the superhero we are inside.

I bought the DS remake of FF IV, that's one of the many I've purchasd but never completed.
Cecil is SO cool up until he becomes a paladin. He looks like a fairy/angel with a sword.
Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure I beat FF III.

Ness should be mascot okay? Just to stop the argument he will be the equalizer. Hes colorful like Captain Rainbow, and Ness has been in some of the same games as Mario. XDDD

I like Link or Rainbow, but I was to understand Pokemon was the second-best selling Nintendo series.

Yeah... No. I oppose to this 100% because, IMO, Ness is annoying. How about we either keep Captain Rainbow or have Mr. L instead. I mean... come on! It's Mr. L for crying out loud. Nobody knows who's behind the mask (so mysterious).
