I think aggiegwyn, is saying, she doesn't like one hit wonders.

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

@Aggz, Onerepublic is more of a three hit wonder band, sorry....
Am I the only fan of The Offspring here?

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I like to listen a some bands.I listen to:R.E.M,Flobots,SilverSun Pickups,Cage the Elephant, and Coheed and Cambria. I listen to a lot more bands, but I forget them.-_-R.E.M-It's the end of the World as we know it

Good to see some people that like Metalcore. I am currently listening to Dance Gavin Dance and early Chiodos. Also shampoo theif how can you not like WCAR? Their screamed vocals are glorious.

Hypebeem, I can't stop listening to Roceteer, I think FEM haven't got talented, in terms of singing, but they can make some catchy songs.

Also, this girl Jessie J, not sure if she's new or not, but I like her song with B.O.B, Price Tag.

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I listen to The Pillows, U2, The Beatles, The Black Mages, The Eagles, Iron Maiden, Asian Kung Fu Generation, lots of video game music, random jazz on the radio, and occasionally some Mahler. Yep, it's a geeky list, but it's AWESOME geeky stuff.

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Lately I've been listening to some old punk (The Dead Kennedys and the Violent Femmes) and a lot of Jeff Mangum. Also Laura Marling and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Just thought I'd share with you all.
So far I haven't seen anyone with similar music taste to me except CMP.
Oh also Die Antwoord.

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Recently, Foster the People. Seriously catchy tunes, even though they barely have any music out. I'm dying for their CD to come out.

dmaster out.

Oh man you guys, Wax's "Scrublife" mixtape finally came out today. If you like underground rap (it's hilarious you have to specify "underground" rap, shows how much it's changed as a genre), I would check it out. It's free.

Speaking of, I've been really in to Aesop Rock lately. Especially the song "Coffee" from the album None Shall Pass

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

As LJ said, Wax's new "Scrublife" mixtape is great. I recommend it to, really anybody. Wax is primarily a rapper, but he has one or two acoustic, non-rapped love songs, which really shows his diversity. That's really why I consider him my favorite musician, he's great at so many things.

For those of you who haven't had the experience of listening to the best band in existence ever (okay maybe par the Beatles), they are called Rise against and they have a new album out. I loved it and wanted to know how many other fans are on the beach. What did you think of the latest addition to the band's collection? Some of the messages are a bit deep, but I really liked the album.

The songs are catchy, lyrically thought provoking and all a great listen. The only criticisms I have (and they are very minor) are firstly that the album likes a bit of variety, perhaps an acoustic song would balance this. Secondly I think that some of the songs are trying to get a reaction out of the listener (make it stop September's children lists names of teenagers who committed suicide due to homophobia) and whilst I think the song is a fantastic tribute to these people and the tragedy that happened as a result of other's ignorance, songs should never try and get the listener to react in a certain way (I had the same problem with 'cancer' by My chemical romance. I think that other than the name listing the song was incredible, and of course many people may disagree with me and think the names were effective.

Well, I think the album deserves a 9/10 overall. It looses a point for not having enough variety in it, whereas appeal to reason and the suffere and the witness got the blanace just right.

If you haven't heard the album of any of Rise Against's stuff its all on itunes /spotify.

Your thoughts?

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

New Strokes album is available to stream on their website. It's almost as good as Is This It...but not quite.

@Fridge: My friend is obsessed with Rise Against. I couldn't care less for it, honestly.

NOW YOU CAN BE PART OF THE "KIDS WITH MUSIC RELATED AVATARS" CLUB FOR COOL KIDS COOL KLUB.

I just downloaded a torrent of Demon Days by the Gorrilaz last night, and have listened to it 21 times since. I'm not even kidding.

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

I just love Friday. I'm not a music type so I don't listen to music much. But this.... I can't stop playing it over and over! And they say this is the worst song ever...I guess I have issues. :p

RE: The PokeBeach Thread of Mucus...erm-Music

Just downloaded Boards Of Canada's album "Music Has the Right to Children Too". I love it so much.

Aaaaaaaaaaah. It's refreshing. And they love me!

(most of the words are only a slow, distorted "I love you")

Oh and I liked that essay.

Listen to better music... please... do your self a favor. Listening to that song is worse than eating a bigmac out of a dumpster covered in maggots after a cat took a pee on it.

^I was being sarcastic if you didn't guess. My biggest problem with the song, like everyone else, is the lyrics. The tune, although awful, is half plausible and slightly average in the tune of computerized pop shizzle. BUt seriously, I reckon it was an april fools prank as the record label are making a big announcement next thursday.
