XY The Regional Pokedex -- What we know is in it so far

Well we can add vivilian and noivern to the list of definites :D

I leave for two hours and when I come back there is a new type and two new mons.

Is it safe to assume the Vanillish line is in the game? Not only is there a Vanillish car seen in the game, but recently in CoroCoro, a new character is wearing a shirt that has Vanillish on it.

Rhyhorn seen in new trailer (seems to be another statue?)

As well as being a statue, its stated somewhere that you ride Rhyhorn through a rocky area or something, basically confirming it will be in there.

i'd say so. and seeing as how these guys are in it, i wouldn't be surprised if they added trubbish and garbodor.

i mean... really. (omg i 'd love to see vanilluxe in there with the powder from the straw)

So really my question is how many Pokémon are going to be in this game? We haven't seen but a handful of new Pokémon (I'm assuming at LEAST 100 new) and also a good bit of older Pokémon as well. Maybe this will be the biggest regional dex we've seen yet.

I don't care that much about what number the regional dex hits...it'll be as high as it gets when they fill the region out appropriately, tho from the looks of it, with the whole 3 parts thing and on having at least 77, my bet is still 100+100+100=300

I'm more curious about how many will be new. I was expecting something closer to ~100 like the previous "even" gens, which both went full "use all the old and add evolutions and whatnot" compared to the "odd" gens which are like restarts.

but I feel like we have already seen so many revealed, with october so away.

starters 9
mascots 2
sylveon 1
fletchling/talonflame 3
noivern 1
clauncher 1
skrelp 1
vivilion 3
helioptile 1
pancham 2
gogoat 2

Thats at least 26... how many (% wise out of the 156) did we know of before BW at a similar time?

I have a feeling that the existing Pokemon they revealed will be in the regional Pokedex (Gardevoir, Marill, Jigglypuff) I imagine there will be more fairy types but they chose the ones to show based off which ones would be available in the game.

I was thinking the same thing. We were suspecting from the first trailer Kirlia will be in it already for example.

Otherwise they'd go for Clefairy, Togepi, Chansey for example.
-Clefairy was featured in BW/BW2s Giant Chasm (while Jiggly wasnt in)
-Togepi has been handed out to us in Pt and HGSS (its still a bit early to give it out as an egg again... at least to me)
-Chansey (seems pretty safe to assume they're sticking to Audino to reprise its role from gen 5)

Of course unless any of those arent Fairy type (but then wtf).

You know, if the Kanto starters bit turns out to be true, then all 3 Kalos Dex's might begin with a set of starters. Kalos for Central, Kanto for either Coastal or Mountain, and a third set for the remaining Dex.

A lot of pseudos possibly in the region dex, sadly none of them are salamence :(

I always wanted a main series canon game that had more than 1 set of starters. One of my biggest pet peeves against Sinnoh was that I didn't like any of the starter choices, I don't like any of the choices this gen either so I'm really hoping I can add blastoise or something to my main team. Hopefully they aren't like Johto where you can only get them post game.

It would make sense to make them post-game because you would think they would want you to appreciate and get used to the new starters before throwing the first gen starters to you. Though, GF seems to be taking new routes so we can expect anything.

Maybe Kanto for Coastal and Sinnoh for Mountain? If that ever happens, of course... XD

I doubt all these Pokémon will show up in ther final game. I know that ''if you say that, there is no point to this discussion'', but it is the truth. We don't even know if Sylveon is in the game, I think it is likely, but both Glaceon and Leafeon were excluded from Diamond's and Pearl's national Pokédex, just as many other fourth generation Pokémon were.

I don't think that would happen. Sylveon was the first casual (non-starter/legend) Pokemon they revealed. It's type was hyped up, it's got the short movie, everything.

If they didn't have it in the game, then some people would be pretty outraged (I know I would).

Infact, the Eeveelutions are pretty much the only old Pokemon we can solidly say will most likely appear in the games. Since Eevee is practically confirmed to be in the games, because of Sylveon, there'd be no point in not including the other Eeveelutions - what would happen if Eevee was levelled up with high happiness in the day? Why would it not evolve it into Espeon?
(And Rhyhorn's line has a good chance of being in there, at E3 there was some footage of the player riding on one, unless that's some post game area)

Rhyhorn is in front of your house as well. Of course, it doesn't mean you can catch on in game, but it pretty much confirms Rhyhorn for the Kalos Pokédex.

I'm pretty sure GF explained their absence from the game, all the evolutions past weavile i mean. I think it was due to memory space problems which were fixed in Platinum, which explains why Sneasel and Weavile got in, as their evolution is the counterpart to Gligar and Gliscor's

Memory space problems doesn't make any sense and definitely has nothing to do with that.

They simply did that so the focus of Sinnoh in DP was not all the fancy evolutions, but in Platinum instead. Made the two games quite different experiences, just like recently BW2 did a similar thing by adding 150 old pokes as options regardless of the game already being sequels instead of third versions.
