I'm just putting this out there.. How do we know Pokemon that were just featured in the trailers are in the in-game?

We don't. Game footages are not final, that's why I don't discuss this kind of thing.

I know, but these people on this thread talk about this like it's going to happen, no questions asked.

show me old trailers or promotional art of "new" pokemon games where it shows pokemon who then didn't appear in the actual playthrough and we will all shut up and figure the thread has basically no reason to exist.
(all the exceptions I can think of is events that were giving away from movies int he same year and activating something in the game)

But until then... I'll insist that it is not coincidence for a Golurk to be featured along with a Golurk STATUE.

Personally I think that the only pokemon that can be confirmed are the new pokemon revealed and those that appear as statues, clear pictures in the pokedex, or art pictures on the official site.
So really that means
  • Chespin line
  • Fennikin line
  • Froakie line
  • Zigzagoon line
  • Fletchling line
  • Helioptile line?
  • Pancham line?
  • Gogoat line?
  • Eeveelutions
  • Marril line
  • Xerneas
  • Yveltal
  • Tympole line
  • Golett line
  • Dratini line
  • Roselia line

You're kidding right? Do you remember the red/blue color Excadrill? It doesn't exist in the game. By the way, Golurk statue doesn't mean anything, a statue is still a statue. Yes, Golurk would probably lives in Kalos, however, you have no solid evidence to support your theory. Who knows, really? Only time will tell.

They're safe bets. Many of them are either common or popular Pokemon, or fit the region or a particular environment in the region pretty well. That, and what Mitja said about trailer Pokemon not being arbitrary.

There aren't many certainties here, but there's plenty of hints.

I believe that the statue does mean something why would a region make statues out of pokemon that cant be found within it's borders.

Remember also that Pikachu showed up both as a topiary in Striaton and on a billboard in Castelia, but was nowhere to be found in the wild in Unova. It's kind of a special case as the brand ambassador, but it is a precedent.

pikachu was also found in the amusement park in nimbasa, as well as suicune's crest in the striaton fountain

Anyone sure this is not just trolling?

Chipmunks are found in Asia as well. Zigzagoon is more likely based on a raccoon dog, but Linoone might be based of a badger as well. Pokémon =/= real life, neither does it contain logic, so stop looking for it. I am pretty sure monstrous, red, bird-like creatures are not native France either.

I always thought that Patrat was more based on a Groundhog more than a Chipmunk. Also, you don't find Raccoon dogs in France.
What monstrous bird-like creatures? If you mean Fletchling, it's based on a Robin.

so you find ostriches, giraffes, hyenas, and penguins in japan? or zebras, tapirs, eels, and vultures in new york?

Which of my way too lengthy posts makes you think I am kidding?

Sure I remember, it wasn't the last time I saw one:

If there is a Golurk statue, we agree that at least the statue is gonna be in the game, right?
But then are you saying the Golurk in the battle is a troll-move from gamefreak? (notice how the statue also features an Eevee....)

And again, whats the point of the thread if all we can list is a handful of new pokemon and Zigzagoon and Eevee?

I get Pikachu (altho its not jsut some random pokemon, being the mascot of the franchise and all)

What makes you think that black/white arc has something to do with Suicune? Never heard that one before o:

Fair enough. Also, that's not the Excadrill I was referring to. :D Look harder! :)

Agreed I'm not sure there is anything else to discus in this thread as at this point thats really all we can be sure of. If this thread were named what we hope is in it maybe there would be something to continue to talk about.

We really don't know anything. Everything we have been shown could be post-game/nat dex. You may say eevee, but, although I love eevee, look at Diamond and Pearl. Leafeon and Glaceon were only in the nat dex.

I think Game Freak will be smarter about cross gen evos in this game. They seemed to have learned their lesson from DP.

never said the BW arc has to do with suicune. but, remember the 3 shiny dogs for zoroark and how suicune is kinda like their pack leader? i'd show a picture of the fountain, if the only striaton maps i could find weren't either tiny or GBA versions...

But also, its not like Glaceon/Leafeon had a year long hype building up about them to the game release...they were just there between all the other post-game evos.

Wait, I'm not talking about anything anime related.. the fountain goes on two sides and has an arc on top of them. Its black on one side and white on the other.
I am asking why you think it is related to Suicune. Oh, you meant that it resembles its headcrest. I really don't think that's intentional though, especially when its just the top 25% of it at best. If its related to any pokemon its Reshiram/Zekrom.

Please tell me you're joking. Do you honestly believe that? How do you know that this is even the completed Kalos Pokedex? What if it's actually an unfinished version that has yet to have recorded the entries of other Pokemon. Great logic bro. 134 Pokemon? That's not even as big as both of Unova's. If there were only 134 Pokemon, what would be the reason to separate the Pokedex into 3 parts? You're really saying the mountain Pokedex only has 6 Pokemon? Are you SERIOUSLY kidding me? I can't tell if you're trolling or not, but since you attached a pic to prove your point, I'm guessing you're not. And that's just... no. There will not be 134 Pokemon.

I must agree. There's just no way I can see there being only 134 Pokémon in Kalos. And why would they have mountain Kalos if there are only 6 Pokémon in it?

He clearly meant the confirmed CURRENT total. As in, thats how big we know it is so far.

If that's what he/she meant, it definitely wasn't 'clearly'. He/she said the 'confirmed maximum'. That appears to me to mean the 'confirmed maximum'. But, I can't read Japanese anyway. So...yeah.

Well then, I apologize if I may have misled you. I meant the current confirmed total. I, personally, am hoping for the largest regional Dex possible (maybe bigger than B2W2).
