BW/BW2 The Simple 5th Gen VG Questions and Answers Thread

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

I know if you do that on a DS Lite your Pal Pad still gets erased anyway if you try to reconnect on the new DS.
A 3DS is probably not that much different at all.

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

Copying the wifi data will only copy the data entered into the wifi settings. If you really want to keep your pal pad data, you can use the System Transfer feature, but then the SD card for your 3DS will most likely no longer work (it will need to be wiped and have any downloads reinstalled. This is guaranteed for 3DS to 3DS system transfers in which case the SD card from the sending system will work on the receiving system, but I am not certain about DS lite to 3DS transfers).

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

That was the option I was talking about XD. So this would transfer everything but are you able to manually re-enter the info so everything will stay the same on both DS's? Thanks XD.:)

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

System Transfer moves all data to the other DS almost as if you took all the hardware out of the first DS and put it into the second, then wiped the second DS's memory and put that hardware in the first. You shouldn't need to manually re-enter anything and all of your games should think your second DS is still the first.

I can't be certain on this, but I'm fairly sure all my Pal Pad data was intact when I transferred my Wi-Fi data from my DS Lite to my DSi. I didn't do too much on Wi-Fi though, so I could be mistaken.

Here's Nintendo's page on transferring your WFC ID: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/transferID.jsp

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

You could be right. I never actually copied my wifi settings, but what I posted was what I read on the warning when I was messing around with my DSs before (without actually activating the transfer)

Mine wasn't, when I transferred my Wifi data from 1 of my DS Lites to another one.

iI want to manuallu enter the exact same data so I don't have to re-enter friend codes etc. Is it possible to do that though XD?:)

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

Nope. The problem isn't the wifi settings. The only way to not have to re-enter the FCs is through a full system transfer since the the FCs are tied to the DS ID and not just the wifi settings.

What are the differences between BW and BW2? I know the Legends are different and characters, but anything else?

The entire story line is different. There are more older pokemon to catch, there are new places to visit, ect. Don't want to spoil too much. ;)

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

There are also different move tutors. You also should upgrade to BW2 if you are after event Pokemon because it is more likely events will be released for the newer games than older ones.

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

Don't forget the Hidden Grottoes. Several of the DW mons there are quite useful (and some still haven't been added to the PGL DW, iirc)

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

You will enjoy BW2 and understand it better if you play BW1 first though.

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

In the Dream World do you get points for trading items on share shelves and for sending a Pokemon from the tree? I was wondering because I thought we got points for this but was not sure. Thanks XD.:)

Not anymore. Prior to April 2011, you could. Now the only method of getting points is:

Watering someone else's Berries - 10 points
Winning a minigame - 20 points
Making a Dream Pal - 30 points
Logging in (once per day) - 50 points

Ah I see. The reason I asked was because I started the DW in December 2011 or January/February 2012 XD.:)

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

Quick question: If I breed (as in produce the egg) say, a Zorua with Extrasensory while having the parent holding the everstone to get a Modest Nature, in Black, then trade it and hatch it in Black 2, will it keep the Nature, inherited IVs, the egg move and all that? Or does the trade cancel those effects?
I suppose not since the egg was already produced but I want to be sure so I don't waste time...

RE: The Simple Questions and Answers Thread

it will keep everything from when it is picked up. the only things changed when traded is the met location (Daycare becomes Link Trade) and, when hatched , the pokemon will get the new game's OT. It is possible for the egg to hatch shiny on the receiving game if the TID and SID differ when it would not have hatched shiny on the original game due to the PID not changing upon trade (though shininess on trade is insanely rare without planning and RNG abuse). If the pokemon would be shiny on the original game and is traded, it will most likely not be shiny on the receiving game (unless the two OTs share the egg's PID as a shiny PID, like 11111/11111, 5555/5555, and 11111/11114 would, as simplified examples)

A Pokemon's stats, nature, IVs, etc. are all determined when you pick up the egg from the Day-Care. All at that exact moment.

This includes shininess, but as iSharingan said, this will change upon trading due to a different SID.
