I have no idea about the competitive game, and tbh, I don't have much interest in getting into it. However, I do play on Wi-Fi for fun, and I do wish I could do better. I think the thing for me is basic strategy. I mean, how do you play each character?
I usually play as Pikachu, and right now I kinda just run around spamming its Down+B attack.
Great idea for a group, Bippa, glad to be a part of it.

I'm slowly getting better with Marth. The games I lost were pretty stupid though. One against Samus, I accidentally jumped off the stage and couldn't recover, and the other went to time (6 mins, 4 lives) so I obviously lost to Wario on sudden death. And Pikachu is probably his hardest matchup. Meta Knight is even easier to win against than Pika, because MK doesn't have any projectiles...

Sonic is one of my worst characters. I mean, 2 moves are pretty much the same...

I really dislike the starfox chaacters because they all have two moves that leave them unable to do anything. I really don't like being on that position.

Then don't use those 2 moves... Fox is my 2nd best, I don't use those 2 moves except for recovery. They all can do amazing things!
@Yoshidude: Nice tier list(I love how Ike is high tier on your list, and the rest is normal)

Other then Ikes slowness he can be a powerful character if used properly in my opinion.

I like Ike, but he is so slow like you said, and his recovery is terrible.
I'd just go with Marth.

Ike has good range power, and the best jab in the game, but, he is slow heavy, and easily combo'd/chain grabbable
Marth. I hate fighting a good Marth. Marth can't be combo'd, and is hard to hit, and screws over your defense, the only way to win is to have better offense than him, and to be able to go through his defense(marth can also grab meta knight during the middle of his tornado, which is really weird)

My brother likes Marth so instead of doing tier battles we do character from he same game battles and when he uses Marth and I use Ike I always win.

This list is awesome because he uses last names that aren't shown in the game. Looks the most professional
Yes, I love it when level 9 computers like to go aggro, and then I use down-special. And when they guard too much, regular special maxed stuns them. What's weird is that I'm terrible at landing grabs with him. Strange. What I really like about him is that all of his specials are KO moves. Some might disagree with up special, but when you knock them into the air with up c stick, (I don't know how this is referred to in Brawl, I'm talking about the GC controller) double jump, and THEN up special, you might be able to KO them if your aim is true and their damage is right.

I use GC remote XD it has a lot of technical advantages.
Pikachu is a character of spacing and speed, so if a character has more range and good speed, Pikachu is pretty screwed(stupid Marth and Olimar)
Marth is supposed to keep his opponents away using his sword, until he can land a beautiful combo

I haven't been posting because I know nothing about them and have never really played by them, but I agree with the created list.
SSE was really good for unlocking the characters. In Melee it took me so long to get all of the characters, but Brawl makes it quick. The cutscenes are very artistic and a few of them are actually really funny, like the one with Fox, Sheik, and Peach. There are plenty of other reasons that make it a great mode, much better than Melee's Adventure mode -_-
