Jirachi whats your opinion for Donphan in the Truth with this metagame? I feel like I'm trying to force it too much :/ I guess I just don't want to see Donphan go.

Donphan has relatively low hp IMO and can be OHKOd by the EXs, though it can be set up pretty fast. I don't really like it in this kind of deck unless you are playing more of a
Vileplume/ reuniclus/ regigigas/zekrom/kyurem/reshiram kind of outrage deck. After doing a lot of damage to your bench and you start attacking with the EXs and you start moving a lot of damage off of them from the high attacks, there will just be too much damage on your bench. Its just my preference though. I liked donphan too. I think it depends on what kind of Truth you are playing, like the one with bellosum, the one where you try to get damage on some pokemon, the one with bliss, this one, etc.

Yeah I was going for a Kyurem Ex/Donphan and dragons deck with probably a Shaymin EX and/or Regigigas techs. Blissey w/seeker or Bellossom healing.

Zekeels, Magneel, MTC, and Durant are the 4 defined best decks atm.

Just wanted to add my two cents here~

I'm in agreement with Pokemonjoe, TMIWM8. Sure, Next Destinies was recently released, but it has been the case and will continue to be the case where decks that are clearly cut above the competition will emerge. The competitive players always do rigorous testing as soon as the scans are released - tweaking strategies if the translations are slightly different later. Before Next Destinies was even close to being released, MTC was evolving.

The recent Europe / Mexico Championships can attest to this. The decks that have been in discussion for weeks plowed through to the top, most expected I'd say!

It's clear that Zekrom, Eelektrik, Magnezone, Mewtwo, and Durant variants will be hot contenders for States and onwards. It probably is too early for some of the more creative / fringe decks to be appearing, but playing a consistent Truth deck will definitely yield some results. (Last I recall a Truth-ish deck made it quite far in the European tournament, top cut I believe?)

Whats everyones opinion of a Truth variant at states? I've been debating it and I'm worried I will be way out sped.

What is your meta. It will do better in metas without... well, Mewtwo.

I'm from Maryland and I don't really know the meta because league or anything similar isn't close enough to me. I will be attending states as that is very close to my house. I assume the meta is typical with Eels and Mewtwo all around. I'm trying to explore my options besides the typical meta plays but I don't want to run a deck that is all around inferior.

There will be a lot of basic decks anywhere you go. Expect high HPs and High damage. If you want to use The Truth, make sure you run pokemon with 160HP of higher that can be easily set up (like a legend or EX). Make Sure it doesn't have bad weakness. Kyurem EX is a good choice.

Lol me too!

Yeah, that's the meta here, so I wouldn't use it.

What's the better play between Blissey and Bellossom? I was running Blissey and it worked pretty well for when I needed it but I feel that Bellossom could be more consistent when in play but harder to setup under trainer lock.

It really depends how tight your list is. Belossom takes up 1-2 spots (2 if you put in a second Gloom) and Blissey takes up 2-4 spots (1-1 and 2 seekers) and a bench space. Test both out. They're both pretty good.

I was planning to run 2 Gloom anyway so Bellossom might be the better play for me. My list has room for options and I was running Blissey with 2 seeker when I tested my deck originally.

My point is Blissey is better, but Bellossom takes up less room.

I prefer Bellossum because there is no chance of a Chansey (haha) start, and is a one card tech.

I have been playing it for a few months, and set it up 2/3s of games. It depends on how many Oddish are ko'd. If two are you don't get it up.

I cam't believe I'm the one to say this, this deck is auto loss to Scizor Prime, I thought someone would've addressed this by now?

People play Scizor Prime and do well with it? News to me.

I don't see any people play Scizor Prime, ever, so that should not concern a user.
