Also, adding the afterburner damage actually helps fuel outrage at times, a free plus power in essence when you only need to use outrage for a kill and need to do an extra 10 damage.

If Yanmega does so well with 110 hp why can't Reshiram at 120hp? The 10 damage isn't really as bad a problem as people think it is.

Add a defender or two to the deck for defense, and a couple of plus powers for offense. You have the extra room with Typhlosion which you don't with Emboar.

The problem is mostly that with 120 HP, Zoroark, Reshiram, and Zekrom OHKO it without need of a PP. So it does hurt, but not a whole lot.

^ This can be solved with defender to make them work for the OHKO. Also eviolite when it comes out.

That's true, although you're adding in extra cards that you normally wouldn't have to play. You won't always be able to get a Defender, and Rugged Helmet could help a lot more than Eviolite.

I think Emboar is better but why would you not run switch in case it gets dragged up? It's easier than attacking. I really prefer Emboar>Typhlosion, but why would you attack with a tech when it's there for just that, a tech?

I prefer Emboar, mainly because of all the major techs (mainly Zoroark) that will need a PlusPower to KO you. Yes, Typhlosion has room for more techs, but that one damage is going to give away a Prize. With Emboar, running an amazing card called Switch easily fixes that problem of Reversal lucksacks. With Emboar your Reshirams tend to last longer, or at least require that much more effort to kill. And the reason Yanmega does so well is because of all of the Judges it runs to murder hands and the easy T2 setup while its at it.

Don't compare the 2 just becouse of them facing eachother, usually Reshiboar wins in that almost mirror matchup. Zoroark not an big deal especially not after eviolite... usually ppl run just 2-2 line of them and setupping reshirams is 1-turn thing and don't run out of energy. As TyRam player you gotta have brains about afterburner since slight misplay can cause troubles.

You guys who are saying Emboar is better because Reshiram, Zekrom and Zoroark can OHKO a Reshi after Afterburner, remember that since Reshiphlosion doesn't need energy retrieval/fisherman it can carry defenders/eviolite to prevent that. Or those spots could be used to guarentee that you set up before the opponent, and you simply use pluspowers and junk arms to guarentee that you OHKO the opponent as well, and, since you are more consistant, you can stay ahead in the prize race the whole game.

the reason why reshiboar doesn't run 4 switch is because it uses that space for fisherman and energy retrieval. With yanmega using judge all the time, you might not always have the energy in hand to attack, while typhlosion works amazing with ninetales. If you're worried about damaging your reshirams, they do have energy switch.

Pretty much 1 good Judge can destroy a reshiboar or at least damage it's game for a good couple of turns. Since Reshiplosion can at least abuse Judge a lot better than Reshiboar can, I'd say that the match-up isn't a total loss.

If Reshiboar gets 1 energy, Oak/Juniper or Retrieval/Fisherman they can Roast Reveal out of a Judge. The only time Reshiboar hurts against a Judge is a T1 or T2 Judge or before a Ninetails gets set up.

Who in the right mind uses energy switch? :D It's not needed, wise use of burned tower, turn energy and afterburner ensures a sure victory.

@gengar the baller: Depends how the list is built.

It does, but really any deck has 4 dead cards in a situation that can be drawn for a Judge. If Typhlosion fully sets up with 2 guys out, Judge is really no problem. It only takes away all the resources.

Easily won a Zoroark/Yanmega/Donphan deck yesterday, regardless of T1 judge and bad start. :p This is why i've said many times that there's never too many hand refreshers. :p

again, it all depends on your build.

typhlosion is great for straight reshiram. its pretty much the same build as charizard. only draw back is that you'll need to run defenders to keep your reshirams alive. but its consistent once you set up.

emboar on the other hand is great if you run RDL as your backup attacker with shuckle and ninetales as draw power, and reshiram to tank/attack.
once you get your emboar out, you can fully set up in 1-2 turns. only draw back is that you'll need to run fisherman/energy retrieval.

so its really, two different decks, two very different builds and strategies.

i personally prefer reshiboar with RDL as the deck is just crazy fast if played correctly. if you have a good build, u can beat alot of different decks. RDL is also a beast and really puts pressure on the opponent as u take 2 prize cards each time.
judges can be bad, but again, its all about the deck build and its consistency.
also, with RDL in your emboar deck, your not suppose to have a late game.
it should be: 2 prizes with reshiram
then 4 more prizes with two attacks from RDL

I've found Stage 1 to be a lost game if they get out ahead 3 prizes. If you can get set up within their first 2 prizes you win. Also depends on Reversal flips early on by Stage 1.
