US Nationals 2012

Stay at the Crowne Plaza (train place) because it seems like that's the majority of where everyone is staying. Also, this is the most I've seen you post haha.

Just bought my new sleeves yesterday. I'm going to PINK up my Nationals ;D (No, that wasn't a pun for stink. That's just nasty.)

Anyway, I always end up laughing every time I act like a noob. I guess I just try too hard. But I do know the noob way:

Clothes: Cheesy Pokemon shirt with Ash and/or Pikachu on it with bubble letters saying something like "WANNA BATTLE?!!?"
Stuff: Paper playmat, cardboard damage counters, a plastic Pokemon coin, cardboard deckbox OR rubber band. Regular Ultra Pro deckboxes work too. No sleeves, they are banned in the nooby way. If you have to have sleeves, pick a really bad quality blue sleeve.
Speech: "Oh, I forgot to pick my card," the most famous noob saying. Also, always remember to read the ENTIRE card text. Don't just say "Night Spear" say "Night Spear; Does 30 damage to one of your opponent's benched Pokemon. Don't apply weakness and resistance for benched Pokemon." Oh, and if you really are using Night spear, make Dark Claw and Special Dark count towards the bench, disagree until the judge comes over and tells you otherwise.

I think the noob tactic would work better in something like Regs. The PP requirement messes it up a lot.

1 League Every Season = 6 PP
1 BR = 1 PP
1 CC = 2 PP
1 Pre Release = 1 PP

10 Total

See how easy it is?

But if you think about it, just becaause they have 10 PP doesn't necessarily mean that they are going to Nationals. I know someone who goes to only two tournaments in a year. Regionals and The Worlds Grinder. (Which I guess that technically means that if he's lucky then he goes to three) But it would be funny if everybody decided to go n00b and at Nationals there would be like 200 people using Darkrais and Mewtwos without sleeves. The horror :p

You guys know that we were only joking, right? (at least I was) I'm not going to waste my weekend using uncool stuff when I could be showing off with all the different things I have.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

It's weird thinking that I'm leaving in 3 days. :S

I know that you guys were joking I was just saying that it would be funny. But it is crazy that I'm only leaving in three days, Soooooo EXCITED!

Wait, for Registration, if you got third or higher at a Regionals, don't you already have a spot claimed for you? Cause if I'm not mistaken, I arrive late on the 29th to early morning on the 30th, and if preregistration starts before then and there's a cap on how many guaranteed spots there are... Oh crap.

Yeah, I'm arriving on Thursday at like four. But they booked my travel for me, so if there was a problem, it would be their fault and not mine. They usually don't deny people spots anyway (I know quite a few people arriving later than I am who aren't bothering with preregistration), and furthermore attendance should be slightly smaller this year because of the play points requirement.

I have heard a rumor, though, that if you got the travel allowance, and not the full-paid travel that you have to be there during preregistration to get reimbursed. I've never had not-full-paid, so I'm not sure if that's true or not. You'll want to check with Pokémon.

I'm pretty sure you'll be fine. The cap hardly ever happens.

I'm excited, just the rest of today and 3 more days until I leave. At least I know what I'm playing, and I have the full deck, what a relief. Right now I'm just counting my bulk, even though I'm fully aware that T&T's bulk price just went down ;[ What's the main side event on the 28th?

Theres usually nothing up on the 28th cause everything will be getting ready for the main event, side events dont really start at all till the 29th

You don't get anything Nats wise if you get 3rd? Anyways, if you arrive late on the 29th then you've already missed 5/6 rounds. The tournament starts on the 29th at 10am. Although it says there's a cap, it usually isn't enforced. But it's always better to be safe than sorry.

There are no side events on the 28th. They start on the 29th around noon IIRC.

I guess I forgot to add the fact that I'll be playing in VGC. If I'm not mistaken, I should have pleanty of time, now that I think of it. The VGC registration doesn't start till later in the morning (not counting pre-registration).

It is amazin how we r leavin in 3 days.....im excited. btw what i meant when i said ask ur oponent 2 shuffle ur deck was that noobs cant shuffle. So instead say "I cant shuffle, can u shuffle 4 me?"
