WELL... What is the most likely way the world will end? Out of ANY idea there is in the world.
The way the Earth will end is in 5 billion years the sun will enter a red giant phase. As it does, it will expand to encompass the orbit of the Earth. But that still might not be the end of the Earth, the red giant phase will last for 1 million years. After which it will contract to be a white dwarf, leaving the rocky core of Earth still orbiting in space.
even if Nostradamus could see the future, he would only be able to see one of the possibilitys of the future. though the past may be set, the future is not.

Anyway, predicting the future and being absolutely positive is nothing a human being could do. There's a possibility it might happen, but there's also a possibility that it won't. So anyday is what I'm saying.

All the these doomsday beliefs are based on fear mongering, denial, and baseless information. They only exist to bolster egos, have books written on it, and an occasional high budget movie starring mediocre actors. I do not invest any thought into these beliefs. And if I am wrong in the end, oh well. We will all die anyways. It's human kinds programming to put our survival front and center; however, as nature tells us time and time again, it's impossible to resist. As well, it's human kinds programming to adapt so if some cataclysmic event does happen, some facet of human civilization will survive somehow.
I just hope it helps motivate scientists and lawmakers to begin exploring space travel.

End of the world or not, you never know what changes we go through in 2012! I mean look where we are at right now. We've had a huge Earthquake destroy Haiti, then another one in Chili and then another in Japan. Following that we've gotten some severe storms like Hurricane Irene and a small Earthquake that hit Boston. Either the continents are starting to split apart or something is happening!
There's no definite answer to if it will end or not, no has complete proof of either event, so instead of living on what if's I try to treat everyday like it's my last and spoil myself. ...except I'm dirt poor and my job is terrible.

You only get to live once, so live life to the fullest. Like said, if it happens it happens. You can't fly to the moon and live off cheese I'm afraid.
