I could imagine a Bug/Dragon type being based off of a dragonfly, but we've already got Yanma.

Maybe a rhinoceros beetle could be a Dragon/Bug type. Though I think Bug/Ground or Bug/Steel typing would fit it better. Heck, even a giant mosquito or a titan beetle.

There are lots more unique insects to choose from, but these are just some ideas off the top of my head.

I'm not sure what you mean by "lightning bug" Pokemon, but I'm assuming you meant an Electric/Bug type.

What's odd, we already have Volbeat and it's female counterpart, Illumise. They're designs are both based on Fireflies, but they're only a pure Bug type. Yet, they can each learn a few Electric type moves.

We've also got Joltik and it's evolutionary line.

I could imagine the second Electric/Bug being based off of a Glow Worm, which would be pretty awesome, in my opinion. Or maybe even a Krill or Plankton with electric-type characteristics, after all we do have electric rodents and dogs that breath fire.

Here's a little wish list I've put together of organisms from the Animal Kingdom I would like to see Pokemon based off of.

-Midge
-Gerbil
-Cassowary
-Lion Fish
-Black Widow Spider
-Mosquito
-Earwig
-Glow Worm

My dream Pinsir evolution would be a Bug/Dragon-type that's basically a gigantic, thorny earwig (with pincers at the back and the front).

While I love Scolipede, I'm actually surprised they didn't do a larger, bug/dragon centipede.

Huge centipedes of dragon-like power are already in Japanese mythology. In fact, dragons fear them.

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

I'd like to see some awesome and strange marine type Pokemon.

- Whale Shark
- Basking Shark
- Megamouth Shark
- Coconut Crab
- Squidworm
- Sea Angel (Snail)
- Eastern Fiddler Ray
- Hatchetfish
- Batfish
- Toadfish
- Needlefish
- Frogfish
- Yeti Crab
- Ghost Crab
- Pinecone Fish
- Ribbon Eel

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

A Parrotfish would be cool. GameFreak could give a colorful fish wings and a beak, like a Parrotfish. [Besides the wings of course]

Also, a Lion Fish. Designers and concept artists could do a lot with that.

I agree with the Sharks. In my opinion we need more sharks. I like the shark mixed a torpedo, but why not another? :)

Most of all I want a Whale Shark or a Hammerhead. A Sea Slug would be cool, we've got Slugma the lava slug. Why not one from the bottom of the ocean?

I do like the lionfish idea, but I'd be sorely disappointed if it wasn't a Qwilfish evolution.

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

Whoops. I always forget about those two. Sometimes it's difficult for me to remember almost 650 Pokemon.

I also like the idea of Qwilfish evolving into a lionfish.

I desperately want a Cassowary 'mon. It could easily be a Fighting/Flying type and learn a variety of "kicking" moves. Here is a quick moveset that i just made up:

Leer - 1
Peck - 1
Scratch - 5
Fury Swipes - 10
Glare - 15
Double Kick - 21
Slash - 28
Black Kick - 34
Drill Peck - 42
Aerial Ace - 45

Or something to that matter.

Glare would be unlikely, as the actual Japanese name is Snake Glare. Only snake Pokémon can learn this move, with the exception of Druddigon, which can learn it by breeding.

I said "something to that matter". I just put Glare because I was imagining that the 'mon's appearance is intimidating to other Pokemon. Mean Look would be just as good, I guess.

I've always though Seadra was a lot like a lion fish/seahorse hybrid but there's no reason not to make another. Honestly, there is so much variety in sea life that you could have made all 650-ish Pokemon so far out of only things from the ocean.

...Speaking of the ocean... Well, water, anyway...
Why not a sea snake? Not a sea serpent, a literal underwater snake, probably a Water/Poison type since aquatic snakes are often highly venomous in real life.

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

I've never seen the lion fish in Seadra, but now I kind of do, now that you've mentioned it.

Here's a few ideas and concepts for new Pokemon.

Glow Worm Pokemon - Obviously a bug type. GameFreak could play around with this and make it breathe fire or ice out of it's mouth where it would, IRL produce string. I also could easily imagine an Electric/Bug typing coming out of a glow worm-based Pokemon. If GameFreak actually makes the "Light" type, I could see that happening as well. I could see it using moves such as: Crunch, Thunder Fang, String Shot, Electroweb, and Bug Bite. Ability: Clear Body or Overcoat

Squid Pokemon - Not a whole lot of suggestions for this. The obvious choice would be a Poison/Water type. Or maybe a lava-dwelling terrifying kraken. Possible Moves: Crunch, Wrap, Constrict, Smokescreen, Octazooka, Peck, [I could imagine it having a beak, possibly.] or Bind. Ability: Poison Point or Clear Body

Mosquito Pokemon - Could be a Bug/Poison or a Bug/Flying. Even a Bug/Dark. Some say that Mosquitos are the most dangerous organism from the Animal Kingdom. This blood-sucking midge-like fly could be a very annoying Pokemon to deal with in battle, even if GF gives it low stats. It could moves such as: Bug Bite, Gust [If it has strong wings.] Wing Attack, Bite, Crunch etc. Ability: Swarm or Compound Eyes

Midge Pokemon - A midge is also a blood-sucker. It could be a pre/evolution to the Mosquito Pokemon I was talking about above. Even maybe a counterpart to it. It could use various moves like: Bite, Bug Bite, Poison Sting, [Even though I don't think it's venomous IRL, I could see it.] and Taunt. It's evolution could maybe learn the Elemental 'Fangs or Crunch. Ability: Swarm or Compound Eyes

Gerbil Pokemon - I don't see why it couldn't be the traditional Normal type-rodent Pokemon that evolves at level 20. It's moves could be something like this: Bite, Crunch, Scratch, Vicegrip, Tail Whip, Dig, Defense Curl, etc. Ability: Pick Up

These are just suggestions. I don't want to spark any arguments or anyone to hate on me. .-.

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

A mosquito's prevo would have to be a bug/water wriggler, like their actual larva :)

Sea Angel (Snail)

That's actually Manaphy/Phione's basis

They're always stylized in anime and video games as little baby-like creatures.

Here's a hello kitty one!

Of course, the real thing has barbed tentacles that shoot out of its head to rip apart its prey....

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

I would like a two-line cat Pokémon with a ghost type, and having decent stats. ovo

We have enough two stage cat Pokemon. How about no more felines?

-Purrloin
-Meowth
-Persian
-Liepard
-Glameow
-Purugly
-Skitty
-Delcatty
-Evee and evolutions

Trust me. We don't need anymore cats, bro.

RE: What cool new Pokemon/evolution do you want to see in the 6th generation?

The only cat line I personally want to see would be a Schrodingers Cat line, with the basic being a Normal/Ghost, and then having a split evolution, with one being Normal and one being Ghost.

Also, am I like the only person who wants more inanimate lines? I personally love Garbodor and Vanilluxe, and really want to see what inanimate objects they'll make in X/Y.

They've always made two stage cats for each game. And I do not see any problems in doing it this one as well.

However, seeing as the rumours of this region being based on Europe, I would like a Pokémon based on the Neck. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neck_(water_spirit)
Also a Pokémon line based on trolls would be cool. c:

Wouldn't normal/poison be more fitting? I mean, the cat was poisoned/pumped with rads, right? One of it's evos should be pure normal (possibly staying duel normal/poison?) and the other being ghost/poison (like Haunter). I would love to see the way it would evolve, level-up while poisoned or something for the ghost one? Not sure about the normal/poison version evolution method, though. I really like that concept, it's interesting.

As for inanimate objects, an electric-type Tesla coil thing would be pretty neat, as well as an electric-type incandescent light bulb that evolves into some sort of robot with futuristic glowing LEDs all over it (to show the way lighting has improved over the years)?
