I remember getting a Beckett with all the Gen 2 Pokemon revealed. They weren't the finalized designs though. (lol look at Espeon XD) Click on to view bigger image.

I think they were all released at once (with the exception of the Pokemon that cameo'd in the anime - Togepi, Snubbull, Maril)

I remember that magazine! I think that those were basically fanart based on in-game sprites. I'm not sure how you're able to get ahold of a game faster than official artwork, but anyways...

Espeon and Umbreon were revealed simultaneously, as were Leafeon/Glaceon. I think Sylveon's going to be on its own here since it would seriously overshadow whatever other new Eeveelution that would come with it. All the hype, showcasing the new Fairy type, being a really early release... Yeah, another one's not happening.

Grasshopper (I'm sure it's been said but my cat just killed one a few minutes ago to spark the idea)?
A "normal" form for rotom? Maybe obsolete technology?
Lava lamp based poke?
Poodle (Kalos is essentially France in the Pokémon world).
Something near the size of wailord but not a legendary.
Donkey.

New Fossil pokes:
A velociraptor (Archen line is technically raptors; so is the Torchic line TECHNICALLY).
Small brontosaurus (though the inspiration for Tropius).
T-Rex (woo!)
Succubus like poke (rock/fairy) that used to terrorize prehistoric Kalos in the Mesozoic (or Pokémon equivalent) era.

I actually really liked that Gen 4 introduced SO many new evolutions for pokemon and was REALLY disappointed to see Gen 5 had none:

Here is my wishlist for Pokemon I want to see evolve:

Fearow (always been my fave Normal/Flying, would love to see a +500 base stat Evo)

Golduck/Mr.Mime/Houndoom/Mienfoo for no other reason than they are my favorites and I'd love to see them evolve

ALL of the weak standalone/evolved Pokemon: Farfetch'd, Furret, Ledian, Ariados, Sunflora, Girafarig, Dunsparce, Qwilfish, Corsola, Delibird, Mightyena, Linoone, Pelipper, Sableye, Mawile, Volbeat, Illumise, Spinda, Castform, Kecleon, Chimecho, Luvdisc, Kricketune, Watchog, Maractus and Stunfisk

Farfetch'd and Spinda are among some of my fave Pokemon so I've developed a soft spot for all the underloved underappreciated ones

In terms of eeveelutions, has anyone thought of the fact that they might be counting down? First we get 3 at once, then we get two generations with 2 at once, then we get this one with one, and if we are lucky maybe one more with one, and then no more eeveelutions....

Gen 5 had none cause apparently there's a pattern.

Gen 5 had none because the entire point was to be a fresh start; it has nothing to do with patterns. Counting down doesn't really make sense because there were two gens with two eeveelutions(also there were none in gen 3). Game Freak made three because it was the first generation so they wanted to start with a trio. Plus they didn't even know if the games would be successful enough to ever make more. I've never seen anybody mention that they've been skipping generations after gen 2, though.

I didn't know if this should get it's own thread, but I recently started thinking about how many dinosaur pokemon there are, and so far I came up with:

  • chikorita line - sauropods
  • krookodile - baryonyx
  • kyurem - T-rex
  • flygon - parasaurolophus (that's where the dragon type comes from! It was a revelation, honestly)
  • archeops - archaeopteryx, I guess dromaeosaurids too, but it lacks their distinctive sickle-like claws, plus, it's flying type, and it has long arms.
  • tropius - brachiosaurus
  • shieldon line - ceratopsids, specially chasmosaurus
  • cranidos line - pachycephalosaurus
  • totodile line - protosuchus, according to some, or modern alligators
  • lapras - plesiosaurus, possibly

Did I forget any? They seem to be very few, don't they? so, I want more awesome dinosaurs, like a ground type stegosaurus, my pet cause of helioptile evolving into a g****mn dilophosaurus or spinosaurus, a true velociraptor, maybe fire type, and a pteranodon.
As awesome and varied modern animals are, the original badasses should have more representation, I think.

Couldn't agree more! Dinos are awesome!

Though, does Kyurem get inspiration from T-Rex? The only similarities I see are the short arms and overall large body.

Why would they stop making Eevee evos? ^^ They're super popular (which is why they chose an Eevee evo to introduce the new type).

He should be dark/fighting/flying/normal, but only 2 types are allowed.
And dark/fighting didn't seem appropiate, being scraggy and scrafty's type (based on gang members), plus, it's a freakin bat pokemon. it has to fly.

I also had to cut out a ton of perfectly plausible moves, from all types.

I would love to see a fairy/dragon legendary with a style like sheng-long from dragon ball xD...even a non-legendary 3 stage would be ok for me.

Also a fire/fairy Phoenix would be awesome

I didn't put much thought into it but I was thinking of a humanoid-Pokemon similar to the likes of The Great Fairy from the LoZ series. Like a fairy goddess, basically. I feel like sketching out the idea I had for it now.
